Commercial Fisherman in Alaska who wanted to find paradise, privacy and relaxation out of the cold Alaskan weather. This home reminds me of being at sea as I can hear the waves crash and smell the ocean. This home is like a ship, it serves well those who like adventure near the sea and have a bit of salt in their veins as do I.
V Hartmann purchased this house in 2006
I bought this property and I fell in love with the feel of the home, with its 4 bedrooms and 2 baths on main level , master Bedroom with private bath upstairs. The house is across the road from the beach and ocean and near the historic town of Fernandina Beach with its historic district and many fine bars and restaurants, golfing and of course warm weather.
The benefits of this home over most others is that it comes with its own swimming pool, beach access only a few yards from the beach and ocean with view of the ocean from upper level. It is luxurious and spacious yet doesn't feel too big or too small. Close to downtown and marina for deep sea fishing, 5 star resorts with shopping, golfing, dinning, music and amenities.
This property was beautiful well maintained. It was to cold to use the pool. But my family and I had a wonderful stay here
My family and I came to Amelia Island for a beach vacation- 5 adults, 3 teenagers, and 3 dogs. The house comfortably slept everyone and we had a great time in the pool and at the beach! Exactly what we were looking for!
The price is also super reasonable.
My only suggestion for the traveler is to bring laundry soap, toilet paper, and extra towels as we ran out of all of these.
Suggestion to the landlord is to invest in a pest control service- we got rid of the hornets nests ourselves when we got there but at times the other insects were a little intense.
Overall- a fantastic vacation accented by our beautiful beach house!
this is my second review of this house, found out that previous guests had left some things in a mess that could not be corrected in 2 days--so sorry that some quests are thieves. Things that were noted have been addressed and and I would not hesitate to recommend this house. Even with a few minor issues--IT WOULD NOT HAVE KEPT ME FROM RETURNING. THIS IS A GREAT HOUSE AND A GREAT LOCATION-EASY BEACH ACCESS.
Needs some TLC. Garage door broken, jacuzzi broken, refrigerator door had to be shut and pushed to stay closed, one toilet would not flush without holding handle for entire flush cycle, some doors warped and will not close. Great access to beach and we had a wonderful time but such a nice house not to be well kept. No pool furniture..a patio table but at pool..we had to use our beach chairs to be able to sit. It was very conveniently located to everything we did these "Needs" did not ruin our vacation at all. Not recommended unless everyone can do stairs. We had a GREAT trip and love Amelia Island area. House was clean but no broom so we could sweep up our mess. But..would not rule out our staying again..just needs some TLC.
Everything was perfect. Cleaning service was not only good but helpful in helping us settle in and give great insight into the area and amenities. The owner bent over backwards to accomodate our schedule. It is a five star.
My wife, our two springer spaniels and I thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at this large, modern house on Amelia Island. The interior was open and bright, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen was well-appointed. The privacy-fenced pool and pool area was well-maintained and enjoyable for both day and night swimming. The empty lot on one side and the quiet neighbors on the other contributed to a feeling of increased privacy despite being so close to the main road. The a/c system was excellent even though every day that we were there was hot, sunny, and in the 90s. Beach access was just a short walk away. WiFi access was password protected and strong throughout the house. When we did have a question upon arrival, a helpful manager was within easy reach by phone. Should we decide to vacation on Amelia Island again, we would certainly re-book this house. We would recommend it to both friends and relatives.
Located across the St. from beautiful Fernandina Beach with restaurants, shopping, bars, golfing, fishing and other activities nearby.
