Overview

Bainbridge Island House Rental Photos and Description

4 Br, 4.5 Ba, 4000 Sq Ft, Huge Deck, Steps To Sandy Beach, All Day Sunshine

A stunning Pleasant Beach setting, just steps to the sandy beach, lively shops and restaurants with four bedrooms (including three master suites)! Our beautiful waterfront home is being newly offered as a vacation rental.

Welcome to the “Gold Coast” of Bainbridge Island. Our home is west-facing and just literally steps to the sandy Puget Sound beach. Summer in Seattle is generally quite spectacular, with long days of sunshine, warm temperatures and little or no rain. Our home is located right on the water with the beach literally at your feet. You may be unaware that the east side of the Island (Seattle-side) can be quite cool anytime of the year, as it is mostly shaded in the afternoon by the tall trees and Island hills and subject to the north-easterly breeze in the summertime. By contrast, the west side of the Island is drenched in abundant summertime sunshine and is sheltered from the afternoon winds.

Sit on our deck with a drink in hand and marvel at the tranquility, the beauty and the ever-changing waterfront scenery as boats and wildlife pass by. Go for a beach walk, where you might spot deer on the beach, eagles diving for fish, harbor seals and even sea lions. Swim, fish, wade or snorkel in the shallow waters. Use our two kayaks to explore the coastline. Enjoy a dessert wine by the evening campfire of our beach-side fire pit watching the stars twinkling overhead and the moonbeams dancing off the water. Of course you can always enjoy a water-side barbecue or relax anytime on our large deck. Every luxury, need and convenience is found at our Pleasant Beach Villa!

If you want to get out of the house, we are located just a short stroll next to the lively and quaint Lynwood Center. At Lynwood Center you will find three restaurants, one of the Islands most popular pubs with local micro-brews on tap, a movie theater, a frozen yogurt shop, a wine bar featuring many European wines, a massage/spa facility, a hairstylist, a bakery with daily fresh selections, a grocery store, a music and guitar shop and other shopping experiences.

Enjoy cooking in our gourmet kitchen and eating outside (weather permitting), or not. Everything from a morning latte, fresh bread and rolls, full breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner is a just a short stroll away. If there's a better location on the Island, we haven't found it yet!

Our Pleasant Beach Villa was constructed in 2011 and is built just steps from the water. At night you can lay awake in bed in any of the three waterside bedrooms with the fully-screened windows open and listen to the waves lapping the beach. Or, if it’s a chilly night, snuggle up to the fireplace in the master bedroom.

The double eight foot entry French doors open to a Carrara marble foyer with a striking view all the way to the water. The open floor plan carries you past the formal dining room, the gourmet kitchen and the breakfast/lunch nook into the living room with its soaring, 18-foot, boxed beam ceiling and 18-foot slate stone fireplace. Extensive amounts of hardwood, including Brazilian cherry, plus marble and slate cover the floors. The main floor also includes a utility room which contains a washer and dryer and granite-covered counter tops.

Completing the downstairs main floor is one guest bedroom with a queen-size bed, its own double French door access to the deck and its own en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The bathroom includes a dual shower-head shower, floor-to-ceiling marble and granite shower walls and a double sink, marble vanity. The kitchen is modern, with granite counter tops a kitchen island and all-stainless steel appliances. Furnished appliances include juice squeezer, espresso machine, coffee maker, double-oven, microwave, gas cook top, dishwasher, instant-hot water dispenser, reverse osmosis drinking water faucet and garbage disposal.

We have a reverse osmosis drinking water system because the high mineral content of Island water may be distasteful (as one of the reviews for property #465334 can attest), since all Island water is well-based. With our reverse osmosis system, you are assured copious amounts of sweet, pure drinking water to drink directly or fill your water bottles.

The house also has central air conditioning and central heat. While it is a rare day in Seattle when A/C is needed, it is very nice to have for the two or three weeks of hot weather that we can get every summer!

All en suite bathrooms have heated tile floors and a hot water re-circulation loop that delivers instant hot water to every faucet. There is a 56” television in the living room. Of course the house has WI-Fi throughout, plus most rooms are hard-wired with Cat-5 Ethernet cable for even faster speeds.

The upstairs floor contains the master bedroom furnished with a king-size bed and with its own en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The master bedroom has double French doors that open to its own spacious balcony overlooking the water and a private gas fireplace. The master bathroom is finished in marble and includes a two-person shower and jetted tub. There are two other bedrooms located on the second floor at the opposite end of the house for maximal privacy. Bedroom #3 comes with a queen-size bed and its own en suite bathroom with dual vanities, a walk-in closet and double French door access to its own private balcony. Bedroom #4 has a queen size bed and its own private bathroom with a tub. All bathrooms in the house are finished in marble, granite and/or limestone. Completing the upper floor is the piano room, another utility room with a second washer and dryer and a workout room furnished with a Soloflex, dumbbells and an elliptical machine.

Our guide book details the many restaurants, wineries, the local brewery and distillery, hikes, parks, shops and other fun and interesting things to do on Bainbridge and nearby. The house is in a residential beach-side community about 7 minutes by car to the ferry terminal. As Bainbridge Island is an actual island, all trips into Seattle are by ferry, which is a 35 minute ride. The ferries accommodate vehicles and walk-on passengers, so a car can also be driven onto the ferry. Washington State operates the largest ferry system in the US. Traveling by ferry is a unique and wonderful experience and a great way to see the surroundings from the water. When leaving the Island to go to Seattle, you arrive at the ferry terminal in the heart of Seattle's waterfront, so it is very convenient to ride the ferry to Seattle and walk to the shops, restaurants, sports stadiums, theaters, etc.

The house is furnished with extensive art work and is warm and inviting. There is absolutely no way you will be disappointed with either the location, the setting or the house! Bainbridge Island was rated the number two most desirable city in the US by Money Magazine several years ago. There is always the risk is that you will fall in love with Bainbridge and want to move here yourself, like so many of us have done!

Please note that the house is offered strictly as a vacation rental and not a party or event house. If you are visiting Bainbridge Island and you looking for a beautiful, relaxing, tranquil waterfront setting, this is the place for you. Also, as noted above, the house has three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one with king bed and two with queen beds, plus a fourth bedroom with a queen bed, so the house comfortably accommodates four couples. We have a strict limit of eight people (adults plus children) maximum, so if your group size exceeds eight, this house is not suitable.

If you are visiting Bainbridge Island for a wedding, our home is conveniently across the street from the Manor House and a five minute drive to IslandWood, which are popular for wedding venues.

Thank you,

- Jill and Henry

About Henry Warner

Jill and Henry are retired and enjoy boating and traveling. We spend the winters in Arizona and the summers on our live-aboard boat.

Henry Warner purchased this house in 2011

Why Henry Warner chose Bainbridge Island

Gorgeous setting, peaceful, tranquil. Close to everything. We custom-built this house in 2011, so it is rather new and furnished with many conveniences. We especially like the instant-hot water feature. There is never any waiting for the shower water to heat up!

What makes this house unique

One never gets tired of the waterfront views and activities! Old Chinese proverb: He who lives on the water lives twice.

Fantastic Home

  • 5 of 5

This review is long overdue. We had a mini family reunion weekend at this home at the end of February and found it to be absolutely perfect (the pictures don't do it justice-it is even better in person)! We had 5 adults and 2 kids ages 6 & 8. One adult was elderly and so the first floor bedroom/bathroom suite was perfect for her. 2 of the adults and their children stayed in the 2 bedrooms on one side of the upstairs and 2 adults stayed in the master suite which had a very big & comfortable bed with a beautiful master bath and shower. Large open spaces for us to be together for visiting, eating and playing board games. The kitchen was fabulous, clean and well laid out, with lots of prep space and the views from the kitchen were just amazing. It is beautifully decorated with furnishings and artwork. It has a large deck just off the kitchen & living room and fire pit area all overlooking the water and beach. Sitting on the deck, you also get to see the ferry's and other watercraft going by. Very close by the home were restaurants, café for coffee, wine and cheese boutique and a small market, all with a European feel. Not too far away (driving distance) was a Safeway which had everything we needed in the way of groceries. It was quiet and relaxing and we even managed to luck out on a sunny weekend which was great for the end of February. We did some sightseeing on the island and found many restaurants and shops. Our trip was all too short and we sure didn't even scratch the surface of things to do on the island. We drove to the island on Friday (over the bridge) and took the ferry back to Seattle on Sunday. The ferry was super convenient. We are hoping to return someday and we would highly recommend this home for your get away.

Best Part of Seattle Area

  • 5 of 5

This home is a True Gem! Every room has a stunning view of Puget Sound, Plenty of Room to Spread Out and Plenty of Room to Gather, very inviting outdoor space right at the waters edge and the Kitchen is awesome. A very short walk to fine dining, Cafe/Pub & Pool Hall, Burgers and Pizza, Bakery, Wine & Cheese and a small Market in the very charming town of Lynwood Center, yet you will never feel like you are anywhere but a quiet beach home. We found some great hiking on Bainbridge Island. We were thrilled to find the Town & Country Market as we have 2 members of our family that require a Gluten and Dairy Free Diet and the selection there was truly outstanding. You could easily spend a week just exploring Bainbridge Island and there is an almost endless number of possible day trips from this location which we feel is very centrally located to the overall region. The Ferry Service to Seattle was very convenient, and you can drive to many location north, south and west of the Island. The owners are extremely helpful in helping plan you trip and making sure you have a great stay. Cannot say enough good things about this home, this location, or this region! Excellent! Second to None!

Great time on Bainbridge Island

  • 5 of 5

Our group of six adults travels often together, and we frequently stay in VRBO homes. This beautiful home on Bainbridge Island Washington is definitely among the best we have enjoyed. It is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, yet we all felt we had our privacy in our own suite with private bath and decks. We stayed 9 days and enjoyed many of the sights of the island, especially the Bloedel Mansion and gardens. A day trip to Olympic National Park, as well as Poulsbo were on the list. The ferry to Seattle was very easy and fun, and we especially enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit and the scenic locks harbor tour. Every evening after a full day of touring it was relaxing to return to this beautiful home and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Puget Sound. The town of Lynwood is a short walk to for dinner or pastries. Winslow is a quaint town with shops and restaurants and just a short car ride away. The owner’s guidebook was very clear with explicit instructions for our stay as well as suggestions for restaurants and activities. We definitely recommend this vacation home and would look forward to staying here again.

Awesome!!

  • 5 of 5

Came here with my daughter to visit my son, daughter in law, and two grandbabies. PLENTY of room for the 6 of us. Everything was clean and beautiful. The beach access was awesome and my kids had a lot of fun with the kayaks. Could fish right off the dock at the right time of day, and the location with the town RIGHT next door was awesome. Would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful week on Bainbridge Island

  • 5 of 5

My family of five loved this house! Our two teenage girls and nine year old boy enjoyed every minute of our visit. The house is extremely clean and organized. The owners were very clear in explaining all details of the home and instructions for our stay and departure. The view from every room in the house was exquisite, and the beach walking was a new adventure each day. The home is adjacent to a little village with restaurants, frozen yogurt, bakery, and small market. We loved the island and took easy day trips to Olympic National Park, Seattle, and the San Juan Islands. We would highly recommend the whole experience to anyone!
