About Carmen Barros or Ron Grunhut
Ron and I have very different backgrounds and yet have a lot in common. I was born in Madrid, Spain, and have lived in Venezuela, Switzerland, and Italy. He was born in Miami, Florida and traveled all over the world with his parents since he was a small child. When we met we were both professional artists: he was a musician and I was a classical dancer. At a certain point we decided to change careers, he went to work on Wall Street and I used my other talent, languages, and became a conference interpreter.

Why Carmen Barros or Ron Grunhut chose Monterey
We had been looking for a 2nd home for almost two years when a colleague invited us to visit the Berkshires. It was immediately obvious there were so many opportunities for feeding the spirit... with nature everywhere and a variety of cultural activities. When we saw the land where our house stands today, it was love at first sight! We worked hand in hand with our architect and must say that all the waiting and hard work to decide the floor plan and all the other details that make our house unique paid off. Come and see for yourself!
What makes this house unique
This home has been the favorite meeting place for our family for the past decade. Central to the best the Berkshires has to offer, there's always something interesting to do or see. We eat our meals on the screen porch during the summer months and it's a delight. Our grandchildren love to explore the property and have learned about engineering by watching how the beavers construct their remarkable dams. Most of all, we feel happy just being here to enjoy nature with all the comforts of this home. It's the ideal place to decompress and remember what's important in life, family and friends.

Hi Carmen and Ron
- I just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed our weekend at "Escondito". The house and setting was beautiful, and so well appointed we lacked for nothing. Thanks so much for sharing such a wonderful home with us. We hope to come back next year.
