Zio Alferio: Uncle Alferio, has created a true gem with his holiday home in San Marco di Castellabate (Cilento, Southern Italy). Here you find best conditions to indulge in the Italian “dolce vita” during your holidays. That the owners have been using the house as their holiday domicile until recently becomes obvious when looking at the well-tended exterior facilities and the tasteful interior. The ground-level holiday home measures 100 sqm, its furniture is proof of the owners’ “buon gusto”. Core of Casa delle Zio Alferio is the 35 sqm living/dining room (with TV). The openly adjacent dining room appears bright and airy due to the stylish glass table. The two bedrooms both have their own bathrooms (shower and bath tub/bidet/WC, respectively). The kitchen of your holiday home is fully equipped and offers a dishwasher and an espresso machine. In front of the entrance you find the large roofed terrace. Enjoy from the marvellously ample garden the view upon the sea and Castellabate.

The sea, a small sandy beach and the centre of the contemplative and picturesque village of San Marco di Castellabate are reached on foot within only about 300 m. The village of San Marco looks back to a long seafaring tradition. Thus, today there still exists an active fishing fleet and traditional wooden ships are built. South of San Marco, the peninsula of Monte Licosa offers lovely hiking tours. Offshore from Cape Licosa lies one of the Cilento's two maritime wildlife parks. To the north, the long, fine sandy beach 'Pozillo' connects San Marco with Santa Maria di Castellabate. The main town, the small medieval town of Castellabate is situated on a 278 m hilltop above the sea with a lot of 'belvedere'. The town grew around the castle, founded in 1123, which served the population as shelter from raids by the Saracens. Alleys full of corners, arcades, labyrinth stairways lead through the intact ancient town centre. Not without reason Castellabate was declared UNESCO world heritage.
