NEARBY TOWNS AND VILLAGES WORTH VISITING
Great shopping, charming town.
“Tucked away on the beautiful shores of the 3rd most beautiful lake in the world, where you may uncover a real find! Who'd have dreamt there would be such pleasant shops and fine places to eat in a tucked-away village like Alden? No wonder everyone wants to keep it hush-hush. It’s the kind of place you want to save and introduce to a good friend-as if it were your own personal discovery. A sleeper? That's part of the allure. The other part is the unusual and varied merchandise you'll find here. Each shop has its own identity, with almost every one hosted by the owner and/or a friend or two.”
Thursday evening strolls with entertainment. (We are pretty sure they are doing this again this year.)
Our local community – nice shops and restaurants. Moka has internet access.
This is a lovely waking town with many upscale boutiques and tourist shopping. There are some very good restaurants, although we did not list any below. Try the planked whitefish.
Great shopping, marina.
“If you’re into food, you will love the variety Elk Rapids has to offer, from fine dining to picnic paraphernalia! When the mood to shop strikes, you’ll find a town full of boutiques, art galleries, antiques, and unusual items. Elk Rapids merchants will make sure you get your fix — or find perfect presents!”
Hemingway spent his childhood summers in Petoskey and at Walloon Lake. His stories about the North Woods are based on his experiences here.
There is so much to do in Traverse City that you will need to research it yourself! We will make only a couple of suggestions. This is a great town for shopping and restaurants and has a lovely beach on Lake Michigan.

Inside the store are many photos of the store sinking into Torch Lake.
