We reserved Dolphin Den for our annual 3-night Dillon Beach getaway. It was perfect for eight of us. Three couples each had beautiful suites with our own private bathroom (TV's and fireplaces in some too), and our two single guests each had queen size accommodations with their own private bathrooms as well. (Beds were sooooo comfortable.)
The deck and the views were magnificent. This is our 5th getaway, but it was the first time we could actually hang out on the deck without being blown away thanks to the glass front. Lots of deer meandering past on their way to wherever it is they go. We engaged in a few staring contests.
Hot tub. Ping pong. We put it all to good use. We're a lively crowd, and the living area had ample room for all of us along with our guitars, voices and percussion. We even got to watch the Giants in Arizona. (They lost. The season is over! Just kidding.)
The kitchen was nicely stocked with amenities and it was easy to prepare dinner for eight in the double ovens. It's the only way to do homemade pizza and two lasagnas. It was a bit crowded in the mornings when we were all milling about trying to get to the coffee pot, but hey, we're family and bumping into each other is part of the fun. We loved the square dining table. It's so nice to be sitting in an arrangement where you can see and talk with everyone.
The driveway is a bit steep and hairy but there is plenty of parking, and privacy from the street once you get to the bottom.
We were graced with perfect weather, beach walks, fish taco night in Valley Ford, and many memories to carry us over until we can get together again. The manager was great to work with and we hope to visit Dolphin Den again.
I stayed here for a weekend in January with 11 friends. The house was beautiful and able to accommodate us comfortably. Incredible views, the "game room" with the ping pong table is great, kitchen has everything you need, etc. Great opportunity for coastal walks straight from the house. The owners were also incredibly responsive and helpful. When satellite TV wasn't working because of an alignment issue, Randy got right on the phone to try to fix it and then arranged it so we could watch the football game in an incredibly comfortable home movie theater down the street.
We stayed at the Dolphin Den in November along with 4 other couples. Words are inadequate to describe this gorgeous home. The view is spectacular from all bedrooms, the home is equipped with just about everything needed to make your stay a very enjoyable one. Kitchen is fully equipped, and ALL rooms are expertly decorated. The hot tub wasn't working when we arrived, a phone call to the manager quickly corrected the problem. Our friends raved about this home and we are planning a repeat performance next year. Hard to find a home that will accommodate so many, a bath in each room, awesome. We loved it. I recommend this home highly. The. Owner was wonderful to work with.
We reserved the Dolphin Den for Thanksgiving Week 2014 and could not have been more please with the property and location. As every review suggests, the views -- from every room -- are stunning, and the house itself is terrific. Spacious, well laid out and a deck to die for. We did Thanksgiving there and every pot, pan, utensil and appliance one might need is provided.
We live an hour away in San Francisco, but just being able hang out in West Marin for a week was an extraordinary experience. Having Dillon Beach just down the hill was wonderful, and the short trips to Tomales, Tomales Bay/Pt. Reyes Stn., Bodega Bay and even Petaluma (Della Fattoria!) were over the top. We found ourselves at Hog Island or Tomales Bay oyster co's everyday, shucking oysters and soaking up the ambiance and great views.
Three families stayed at the Dolphin Den over Labor Day weekend. Everything was gorgeous and the game room was tons of fun for adults and kids. The hot tub was right outside the main room on the deck with a fabulous view of the ocean. We spent lots of mornings and afternoons sitting on the deck and enjoying the weather and view.
We had a birthday/family reunion trip planned and decided to stay at the Dolphin Den. We had 9 people in our group and wanted everyone to be comfortable. The rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated. The common area had spectacular views of the ocean and nearly every evening we had deer coming right up to the patio and standing at the top of the driveway. Truly a relaxing, wonderful vacation. I attribute most of that to the house and the abundance of space for everyone. One of my favorite memories was me and my sisters sitting in the jacuzzi looking out on the ocean. It had been a long time since we were all together on one vacation and this really meant everything to us. Thank you for providing such a beautiful home. And thank you for letting me bring my old poochers with me. She had just had surgery and you were so accomodating. We will certainly stay again!!!
