This wonderful home can accommodate approximately 9 guests in beds, which makes it a great option for families. (We apologize, but due to allergies in our family, we do not allow pets of any kind in the home. Thank you for understanding!)
The possibilities are endless when you take your vacation here! Relax by our private pool, enjoy a gorgeous sunset from our large screen porch, or take a boat out to fresh or saltwater for fishing, scalloping, snorkeling, scuba diving, sight seeing, or out to eat at one of Crystal River's fabulous waterfront restaurants.
The home is located on a deep water lagoon near King's Bay, which makes it a great choice for larger boats. Several public boat ramps are located near the home and are available for your use at no charge. The lagoon is not only great for boats, but is also a popular swimming place for manatees and dolphin!
We offer discounts for rentals 3 months or longer. Great for snow birds! Please call or email for details.

We are a family from Leesburg, Florida, located approximately an hour from our rental home in Crystal River. We love to take our boat out fishing and scalloping as much as possible. We have been vacationing in Crystal River for many years, and we decided to purchase the home because we enjoyed our vacations so much!
Kristen Cole purchased this house in 2010
After considering many different homes in the Crystal River area, we fell in love with this one! The location and size were perfect for us. After purchasing the home, we made a few renovations to make it feel more up-to-date.
Because the house is located on a deep water lagoon, it is great for larger boats. We also love the large screen porch; it's great for entertaining!
It was an awesome place. We will be renting it again soon.
This home is beautiful and well maintained. The large porch, opening up to the pool, was the perfect place to hang out and watch the kids swim while we watched the World Cup on the flat screen TV. There was plenty of dock space for two 17' Boston Whalers and enough room for the kids to fish. It's a very short ride to the springs to snorkle, and about a half hour boat ride to the scalloping spots. The house was spacious enough for us to spread out and the kitchen had everything you could need to cook. The owner, Kristen, made this an enjoyable place to rent.
My family and I had an incredible trip up to Kings Bay. This wonderfully appointed home was exactly what we were looking for as it provided us the comforts of home with the added luxury of water front access. We were able to bring out boat right up to the backyard which served as our launching point for 3 days chock full of memory making events. We will be back.
We rented this large home for a small family reunion between family living in Chicago, IL and Gainesville, FL. There were 9 of us: 3 younger teenagers, 2 older teens, and the rest of us are adults over 50.
The Chicago group had no idea that Florida canals were so beautiful. The only canals they had previously seen were sanitary canals. The canal view from the back of the home was so peaceful. The adults had morning coffee in the screened lanai while the teens slept in. It is a fairly wide canal for the area and we didn't get much noise from neighboring properties. The dock was a great place for the kids to hang out and fish, and they saw manatees a few times in the canal. The boys fished at night and loved the convenience of the dock light. My sister felt quite safe and secure walking the smaller roads through the neighborhood. The pool is not heated, and that was the only negative for the teens.
The home itself was perfect for our needs: plenty of space for everyone to sleep and eat. The younger teens even decided the sofas were a great place to fall asleep after reading. There were 2 inflatable beds as extra sleeping space. The furniture was comfortable and family friendly. The teens enjoyed the large screen TV in the living room for movies. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking essentials we needed. We have vegetarians and picky eaters in the group, and we mostly cooked in rather than eating out. We used a crock pot, the cookie sheets, a mixer for brownies, and the toaster oven. We did have to run the dishwasher daily.
There was plenty of toilet paper, towels, and beach towels in the house. The washer and dryer made it convenient to wash as often as we needed to. The house is off a 2 lane road and down a very narrow street. It would be difficult to find at night, so make sure you arrive before dark. It feels secluded but is minutes away from SweetBay grocery store and other strip malls.
We went swimming with the manatees which is a 'must do' if you are here in the colder months. We spent one sunny, warm day at the Fort Island Gulf Beach, conveniently located at the very end of the main 2 lane road. Very nice white sand beach with restrooms and a pier. We all enjoyed an afternoon at Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park: take the boat into the park, and return by tram. Our favorite restaurant: Thai Phoon, on Rt 19. Movie theaters are at the mall for the rainy days, not much else at the mall.
During our stay, we had 3 adults and 6 children, ranging in age from 25 months to 14 years old. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The home was clean, nicely furnished, and stocked with everything we needed or might have forgotten to bring along. The pool was sparkly clean and refreshing.
The kids caught very nice-sized bass and catfish from the boat dock out back, and there were large crabs visible as well. Our favorite sight from the dock were the manatees swimming nearby - close enough to get some nice photos.
Kristen was very pleasant to work with, and very helpful in giving information about local places to rent boats during our stay. She was always available by phone or email when I had a question.
We also visited the Homosassa State Park, which is only about 15 minutes away, and is home to many native Florida animals and plants, including manatees, alligators, red wolves, eagles, snakes, etc. The park also has a boat tour, and was a good value.
All-in-all, we loved the house, the location, and everything else, and would definitely recommend staying in this home. Our family made great memories, and will definitely be back in the future!
We had a wonderful month in Crystal River. The house was spotless and well equipped. The sun porch was amazing and we enjoyed most meals outside overlooking the lagoon. We spotted manatees in the water and it was a very peaceful spot to relax. The owner was extremely helpful. We toured Crystal River Preserve State Park and visited Ocala. The golfing in the area was great. We would definitely recommend this place and would return in a heartbeat.
The Plantation Inn and Resort is just a five-minute drive or boat ride away, where a great golf course, spa, restaurant, and tiki bar are located. If you prefer more adventure, take a short boat ride to take advantage of great snorkeling and diving opportunities with manatees and other wildlife at King's Spring or one of many other springs in the area. Both saltwater and freshwater fishing are also only a few minutes away. There are many restaurants and bars in the area as well. We recommend Fat Boy's BBQ Restaurant, Cody's Steakhouse, and Cracker's Bar & Grill, which is located on the water. There are also several chain restaurants nearby, including Chili's Bar & Grill and Applebee's.
