We Loved It. !

We have just returned from 3 weeks stay at ‘The Kato House’. The description is fair, and the views are quite amazing. We had wonderful weather, and as Elounda does attract a strong breeze, it was welcomed when sunbathing on the compact terraces. The house was clean and tidy on arrival, with ample space for the four of us. It does sleep six, but this would be quite a squeeze for 6 adults, and more appropriate for maybe 2 adults and 3 or 4 children. The air con was a welcomed addition, as the evenings and nights were very sticky. The house is quite well equipped, but could do with a little updating in the outdoor furniture department, but I’m sure it will be by next season. We also found that it lacked a sharp knife, which we brought locally. We did most of the cleaning ourselves despite the offer of a weekly service, but with a washing machine and all the cleaning utensils on site, it was no problem. As stated the location is not for the elderly or infirmed, and the walk up and down the hill will help burn the calories off from all the wonderful food available at the local tavernas, but we also cooked some wonderful BBQ’s , and one or two spag bols with local salads, and then enjoyed the night views over Elounda. The location is very peaceful and tranquil, and the village has a charm about it. Elounda has a variety of restaurants, tavernas and bars to suit all tastes and ages.
There is a TV, which was not connected to an aerial, but the DVD and VCR did work on it, we took CD’d with which played through the DVD. There was plenty of hot and very strongly pumped water, which was welcomed after a day on the local beach.
We had issues with a broken lock, which Zack tried to resolve with some WD40; however after Zack also locked himself in, having to escape out of the window, we ended up removing it as it was safer. We have no complaints and would recommend the house for those wanting to partake in village life. The location is perfect for sightseeing or simply unwinding, with the beautiful Plaka just down the road or Ag Nik a short bus ride or drive away.
All in all a very enjoyable stay which we will be happy to do again next year.

This is our first season and we're hoping to build on repeat customers and personal recommendations so it means alot to us that you took the time to write. We will certainly be upgrading the outside furniture next year as you suggest and hope to have the wi-fi connection too. So sorry about the kitchen knife- defintely will be sorted asap! Hope you enjoyed our DVD and book selection, I know you found our brief local information guide useful. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon.
