Your Hawaii vacation starts here at “Hale CJ Kona Kai” with the advantages of a single family home located in Alii Heights an Upscale Neighborhood. Enjoy the great Ocean & Mountain Views from this lovely Tropical style furnished home that's within 2 miles driving distance to two of the most Popular Beaches in Kailua-Kona. Feel the enchantment of the Big Island when watching the Gorgeous Sunsets and when seeing the Whales during whale season.

You will wake each morning hearing the beautiful Singing Birds & feeling relaxed from your peaceful nights rest from no shared walls, no one walking overhead or busy traffic sounds. Start each day in your own private yard filled with many Beautiful Tropical Plants and when in season there are Fruit-producing Trees for you to enjoy.

You will have room to move around in as the home is 1,665' sq feet and features a great room with vaulted ceilings with overhead fans in most rooms. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths; the master suite includes a walk-in closet, dual sinks in the bath and a private lanai, and is set off from the other two bedrooms. There is a well equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and plenty of cupboard space.

For your entertainment there are two TVs; a 40' and 19' flat screen both w/DVD players, CD player and Free High Speed WI-FI for your laptop. There is plenty of Beach Gear provided for your enjoyment. Close to Kailua-Kona Village (4.7 miles), Keauhou Shopping Center & minutes from world class beaches, snorkeling, swimming, surfing, and scuba diving and championship golf courses.

About Cathe or Jeff Herbert

Aloha! We are Cathe and Jeff the home owners of Hale CJ Kona Kai. We were both raised and currently live in WA State. However, the Pacific Northwest is a beautiful state with a lot to offer we long for the warmth of the aqua water, sandy beaches and ever present sunshine. We fell in love with the Big Island because there is so much to see and do here. So many great beaches and the Volcano is really something to see, you don't want to miss that and the snorkeling is the BEST!

We choose this property mainly because of the spectacular ocean view and expansive yard full of tropical fruit trees. Also because it’s far enough away from traffic noise, yet within close distance to two of the best local beaches in Kailua-Kona.

What makes this house unique

Our home is situated so it has a private setting with expansive ocean view with gorgeous sunsets. You'll hear tropical breezes rustle the palm trees and at times hear the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. The neighborhood is newer, but still has that tropical look and feel to it.

Wonderful House! We enjoyed our stay at Hale CJ Kona Kai

We so enjoyed our stay at Hale CJ Kona Kai! The house comfortably accommodated our family of four. Our two teenagers loved having their own bedroom and bathroom. The grounds are beautiful! Wish the fruits were ripe when we were there! The sunset views from the lanai was absolutely stunning! The house is located in a cozy neighborhood just a short drive to town for coffee, meals, shopping, and snorkeling. We used the quality snorkel gear everyday! The owners thoughtfully stocked many things that a family might need during their stay (e.g. nail polish remover). We highly recommend Hale CJ Kona Kai to others.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us. The property is so well maintained and we were surprised as how many small extras were provided. Both the home and the yard were spotless and we enjoyed all the fruit trees. We have been visiting the Kona area for over 20 years and honestly, this was one of our favorite rentals we have stayed in. The location is great, not too far from town, close to the Keahou Shopping center, and close to the water. The 180 degree view of the ocean is fantastic, we could hear the waves at night and the whale watching was spectacular! Staying in a condo can be so crowded and sharing a community BBQ can be limiting at times. We can not think of one negative thing about this house. We look forward to renting this house again in the near future!

Whales with a view!

Fabulous family vacation at CJ Hale Kona Kai! Will definitely miss our lazy mornings on the lanai while watching whales while planning each day's adventure on the Big Island. The vacation rental had everything we needed to enjoy the water from beach chairs and towels to snorkel gear, boogie boards and coolers. While winter was raging back home, we were soaking up the sun. How wonderful to come back to CJ Hale Kona Kai each evening to this gorgeous home. The owners and property manager (Jeff) were great to work with.

Privacy, views, perfect!

It's hard to add something not already said; CJ Hale Kona Kai is like staying in your own resort, only much more private. We travel to Kona at least twice a year (almost always booking VRBO properties) and this is the most generously appointed and beautiful home we've stayed in, by far. The owners and the property manager are responsive, friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you want to "get away from it all" while still being "close to everything," this is your perfect home base. Bonus: we weren't expecting to be able to hear the ocean, but guess what, even at this elevation, we could -- the neighborhood is that quiet. Absolutely wonderful. We look forward to returning.

A splendid home away from home

CJ Hale Kona Kai is perfect in every way! It is beautifully done, spotlessly clean, fully stocked inside and out, well located in an upscale neighborhood and surrounded by a relaxing, spacious yard. Our family spent ten days there and can not think of one thing that needs to be changed or improved upon. The owners are excellent communicators and answered our questions promptly while the property manager is a very pleasant fellow, helpful in every way. The house is exactly as it appears on the vrbo website and is a holiday accommodation I highly recommend. Thank you to Cathe and Jeff for allowing us to share it.

Quiet, Comfortable with Wonderful Ocean View and Sunsets

What a wonderful home to come back to after a day's adventure on the Big Island! CJ Kona Kai is beautifully appointed and comfortable. The owners are friendly, easy to talk to and gave lots of resources for enjoying the area. The property manager was equally friendly and was there to greet us on arrival with more good information. Kona Kai's location up the hill a bit, combined with the ocean breezes, makes it cooler. After a day out, it was great to come back "home" and relax on the lanai. And, yes, the view is spectacular! We have been to Kailua-Kona several times over the last 15 years and the area has grown a lot. With the increased traffic, etc., it was especially nice to retreat up the hill. What a treat to pick a lemon and pomelo from the backyard trees. We appreciated having a cooler available for day trips and a well equipped kitchen, as we like to cook. Grocery stores, Long's Drugs and the Farmer's Markets are all close by. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful home and are already planning another trip. We would definitely recommend CJ Kona Kai.
