This is a great little cottage nestled in the historical district of Old Northwood. The cottage has a full kitchen, large bathroom, laundry facilities, and private courtyard complete with table, chairs and a grill. There is no fee for parking. Parking is in the alley right next to the cottage. Everything is close by, including beaches, shopping, and restaurants. There is also a boat dock, tennis courts, and beautiful park situated on the intercoastal waterway less than a mile away.
My fiance, Derek, and I live in the main house in front of the cottage, so we are close by and ready to help if any of our guests have questions or need assistance. We are both avid cyclists, I am also a runner. We both love the outdoors and we love to travel, especially to Europe! Derek is from S. Africa and I am from Chicago. We actually met on bicycles.
Sue Molloy purchased this cottage in 2008
South Florida is a great place to be, especially if you are escaping the cold north! Out cottage has everything a traveler could need. Not only is it cute, but it is always neat and clean. It is very private as well. The entrance to the cottage is through the back. Sometimes we never even see our guests!
We currently have two mountain bikes. We would be happy to rent them out. They are great for getting around town, including the beach and City Place (great place for shopping, restaurants, and bars).
We stayed for a week, with a 10 month old. It's cozy and very CLEAN and that's hard to come by these days. Way better then a hotel. They provided a lot that you wouldn't expect and it was very appreciated. Good size t.v with lots of channel and there's a washer and dryer. Internet connection had no problems and it's fast. There's a BBQ :-) We loved the yard privacy. We will definitely be back hopefully for longer.
Comfortable, clean and well stocked for any need. The owners sent over a hair dryer within hours of inquiring about one to be sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked for anything but don't expect to make homemade cookies, as there is no oven. The patio area was comfortable and private with an umbrella for shade and a gas grill for those nights of grilling fresh fish off of the boats. There is a washer and dryer available, which is an extra we are not use to getting. The bed could use a tiny bit more cushiness, but that may be just me. We didn't walk to the beach in the bay side but I know it was close. There is a cute area very close for dining and shopping. With a rental car there is even more to see nearby in Palm Beach. We recommend you spend time at the state park and beach, simply gorgeous. The owners have a book of interesting things to see with directions.
My husband and I stayed in the cottage for the holiday and were very happy there. We arrived late at night and had to take a detour because of a traffic accident... You go thru a less than desirable area before arriving at the cottage. Don't let that scare you. The neighborhood is lovely as are the homeowners. Great area and close to everything we will be back and would love to stay there again!
