Guestbook comments from the owner
A beautiful house, in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We relaxed outside our bedroom door, near the hot tub and overlooking the golf course. Very peaceful and quiet. Five minute walk to a renowned designer golf club that is open to the public. There are several other courses nearby that are also open to the public. This is an ideal location for a golf vacation. There is also a large pool (unheated) which will be ideal in warmer weather.

The house was well equipped, beautifully furnished and spotless. A high quality cable TV, a Bose Sound System with an iPad and Pandora. Stainless/granite kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker and all the cookware and utensils. Bicycles were available – there is a terrific bike path near by—as were an assortment of golf clubs for use by the guests.

In the evenings we sat and enjoyed the fire. And there is an outdoor grille available, although we didn’t use it. There are a number of great restaurants in nearby downdown Dunedin. And there are a number of beaches and state and county parks within a short driving distance.

Our host was gracious, helpful and informative.

Although there were only two of us, this house would be ideal for two couples.

I purchased this as a second home in 2003. I now spend more time with my children and grandchildren and have decided to make this available for the first time as a vacational rental to others on a part time basis

Chris Ford purchased this house in 2003

I love to golf and had already joined Dunedin Golf Club. When this home became available directly on the golf course I convinced my wife that it was the place for us. I love being able to step out my back door and just tee it up. particularly during the sunset hours when one can have the course virtually to themselves.

Living at the Dunedin Golf Club has many benefits. You do not have to be a member to play (although you must pay greens fees) and the restaurant is available to all. Also we love being so close to 'Delightful Downtown Dunedin' with its regular events and fantastic restaurants as well as to Palm Harbor.

wonderful vacation

  • 5 of 5
the house was a very wonderful experience. I would do it again in a second.
the pool and the hot tub were in beautiful condition and we used them every day.
the ipod and the wifi that were provided were very helpful.
the bicycles got used every day also.
I cant think of any way the house could have been any better.
my wife and I had our sons and daughter in law and our baby grandson, and the washer and dryer came in very handy, as well as the baby seat, wagon and stroller.
the owner even left a state park pass for us to use, which we did 3 times. everything about the experience was fantastic and I would recommend it very highly.

Dunedin Golf Club House

  • 5 of 5
I went to Dunedin with my Mother and Father in law, my wife and my two and a half year old daughter. We absolutely loved everything this property had to offer. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and was very close to the Dunedin causeway, Honeymoon and Caladesi island. It's also conveniently located close to the grocery stores and most everything else you could want. The pool was FANTASTIC and was our favorite thing about the trip. The whole back of the house opens up to a nice patio to the pool and hot tub and both face one of the fairways on the beautiful golf course. The pool has a safety screen that is easily installed so you don't have to worry about your children around the pool. The inside has two very nice bedrooms with a bathroom in each. It also has a very nice kitchen that is nicely equipped. This place is everything you need to have a wonderful vacation. We really hope to stay again next year.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5
I had the pleasure of vacationing in this lovely home in January. I had never spent much time in this area but found that it has something for everyone

The home lends itself to easy and relaxed living. The kitchen which is upgrades with granite and stainless steel opens to a big room complete with capable TV and a Bose sound system. This then opens to another living area which includes a dining table and sitting area with a fireplace. This all overlooks a beautiful pool area complete. With table, chairs, lounge chairs and a hot tub. Beyond this is a view of the golf course. All is accessible thru a series of glass sliders which brings the outside in.

If you're a golfer the course is open to you. If you're a walker, jogger or would prefer to ride a bicycle (which are in the garage) there is a lovely path which brings you downtown once there you have many options for dining and shopping within driving distance are great restaurants with water views, movie theaters and more shopping. Take in Tampa Bay and Honeymoon Island for beautiful beaches and sunsets.

I would recommend this property to family and friends the owner is gracious and full of ideas and information to add to your vacation experience.

THINGS ARE NOT AS THEY APPEAR

  • 1 of 5
We have written this review as we feel it is important that other people do not have the same bad experience we had.

Along with another couple who have been our friends for over 45 years, we four trusting Senior Citizens, for the vacation rental of this home from March 1 – 31, 2013.

As the condition of the home was not what was expected, we took pictures of areas of concern and e-mailed them to the owner. Our conclusion was that all areas of concern indicated that the owner most certainly did have home maintenance problems. The neighbor indicated that no one had been around at all to service the pool.

We asked that areas of concern be cleaned up and the pool and hot tub made usable.

We had already :
a) Moved the women’s clothing & accessories into middle closet across from main bathroom.
b) Cleaned out fridge in main house
c) Cleaned the stove oven

We found that the garbage had not been removed from under the sink, there was rotten food in the fridge in the area where the owner usually stayed – we also cleaned this up even though this was not our job!!

As there was no information book.

In our opinion this home was certainly not tourist ready and one would expect the home to be clean inside and outside, chair pads to match on the patio, lounge chairs for sun bathing even though you can’t use the pool as the water was very cold, regular dining chairs in the dining room area with comfortable padding, no clothes in the cupboards, or personal items in the medicine cabinets etc........

In view of what had happened, we made the best of an uncomfortable situation but in our opinion this home is overpriced and although the owner is very pleasant and nice, he did not put a lot of thought and concern for vacationers when getting this home ready for vacation renters.

Owner's Response: I regret that my March visitors had a "bad experience". I was out of state when these visitors arrived and they called me to share there concerns. I immediately called my cleaning and maintenance people. There clearly had been some communication problems and the issues they raised were addressed. My visitors requested a partial rebate for being inconvenienced and I gave one. This is the first year that our home has been offered as a vacation rental and I can see that there is a learning curve for owners as we try to get all of our systems in place. The valid shortcomings these visitors mentioned have been addressed including an up to date home information manual and new lounge chairs for the pool area. As for the value of the unit I believe that the market addressed that issue. Our home has been booked solid since we first offered it and is already fully booked for much of 2015 so I want to re-assure my scheduled tenants that the issues that were raised in this review were unique and are not characteristic of our offering.
