Sleeps for 8 people with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Large lounge/living area with ample seating, cooled by ceiling fans, a well equipped kitchen and large veranda. Set in a beautiful garden with lots of flowers and your own 20 x 60 ft professional swimming pool with sunroof, sunbeds and a separate shower and toilet.Give the hammock a try. All surrounded by a 6 foot wall, which gives you all the privacy you need. Discuss with your private cook the menu of the day or join him to the local market for fresh fish and groceries. The villa is situated in a quiet area with mainly local people, 800 m from the Kande Vihara temple with the tallest Buddha statue in Sri Lanka (65 m) . Bentota is famous for her exotic beaches, hotels, restaurants and boutiques. The beach can be reached in a ten minutes tuk-tuk ride. In Beruwela (3 km) you will find the oldest mosque (1100 AC) in Srilanka from where you have a beautiful view on the bay. Every morning at 5 am you can visit the famous fish market where you can see the tuna, sharks and other fishes being sold. Local markets selling vegetables, fish, clothes an souvenirs can be visited daily.

Notes

  • The first payment (50 % of the rental rate) is two month after booking. The second payment (50 % of the rental rate) is required 60 days before arrival. Also a 60 day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than sixty days prior to arrival will incur no penalty.
  • Cleaning of the house and towels are included the rental rate. Optional are the services of a private cook with experience in Asien and European cooking. Price for half board for one week is por example for a child GBP 45 and for an adult GBP 90. Professional pool cleaning and daily gardening are also included.

Very special family holiday

We celebrated our parents’ 40th wedding anniversary in this beautiful and spacious Elephant villa. We were 8 adults and 3 small children. The four rooms are quite big and clean and it has beautiful garden maintained by an old gardener. The main attraction is the swimming pool which is big enough and clean. Every night we had pool parties and the children loved it. There is a shower room and toilet by the pool so that is quite handy. During our stay, the houseboy came to clean the house and washed the dirty dishes once every two days. They also have a chef and we asked what we wanted and he made scrumptious Sri Lankan dishes. I recommend grilled prawns. All we needed was to pay for the groceries and tip the chef. The owner of the villa – Lucky is a very friendly guy and owns few gem stones. No doubt we bought few good pieces of jewellery from his shop and he gave us good price for them. We went on couple of tours arranged by Rohit, an authorised tour operator who is also a relative of Lucky. He is a very friendly and helpful guy and I recommend tipping him well as he will always there for you! He also arranged for a massage man and a lady to come to the villa for our massages.
Overall, it was a fantastic and memorable holiday and no doubt we will go back again. Thanks for your hospitality Lucky.

Beautiful House, Great Host and Great Stay!

A group of us stayed at Lucky's home for a couple of nights and it was a great time! He was an excellent host, the staff was always available and helpful and having a pool during the hot and humid day was A+. The one criticism was the the kitchen was not well equipped and there was an ant problem. All in all, a great stay and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Bentota area.

Family Alexander Stay at Elephant House

This was our first time in Sri lanka and from Day 1 Lucky and his team made us feel welcome in a way that only Sri Lanka can!!

Nothing was too much trouble, the service was excellent - as were the fabulous meals - and the location perfect for our first week.

The pool is amazing (certainly the largest in a villa we have ever seen) as are the surrounding gardens which provide great privacy as well as allowing you to enjoy evenings sat outside and taking in the sights/sounds that the area has to offer.

Lucky and team were very kind in arranging any sight seeing, beach or shopping trips we wanted and took us either in a tuk tuk or car. So much to see in this area and having a personal guide was great. Lucky even got us front seats to a local open air concert that was being held!

Elephant house is a lovely place stay and we would throughly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the Bentota area.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

relaxing vacation

We stayed with our two children in this beautiful villa. We wanted to relax, lay in the sun, read a bit, enjoy the beautiful weather and explore this part of Sri Lanka. Lucky is an excellent host who is always there if you need him to advise. The large swimming pool with it lights at night was fantastic. The children had a lot of fun. At the same time, the beach is not far - only 10 minutes by tuk-tuk. We loved to sit in one of the small restaurants on the beach to watch the sunset. We made also nice trips. It was like a dream and a holiday we will never forget. We will definitely come back.

Relaxation

I visited this spacious and excellent villa with my family, parents and cousin.

The whole point was tio catch up and relax for a week or so. It was perfect. All of us enjoyed the facilities in particular the amazing pool.

Although not on the beach front it meant for a much more relaxing time, but aminities were only a tuc-tuc ride away.

Lucky who manages the villa was extremely helpful and hospitable. He organised the excursions for us and we could do what we wanted when we wanted.

We will definitely be returning as it was a wonderful experience
