I am a New Zealander married to an Irishman, we have lived in France 13 years. I work for Sotheby's Real Estate while Finn, my husband, works for the Savannah School of Art and Design which has a campus here in Lacoste
caron mac eoin purchased this apartment in 2007
Lacoste is an authentic Luberon village overlooking the valley that is a picture in all seasons. Close to all amenities and cultural events, yet peaceful. Real French village life. The apartment is private and has a great view.
Always the view, the light and the authenticity. Lacoste is NOT home to tourist boutiques and buses dropping off their loads for a whistle stop tour. It is gentle and relaxed
I can't imagine a better place to stay, or better hosts (in Caron and Finn), than this lovely flat in the heart of the Luberon. Lacoste is beyond charming, full of quirky history and forgotten nooks, and just outside the beaten path. As a home base for exploring the Luberon, you can do no better. But be forewarned: the flat is so cozy and well-equipped, and the view from the private terrace over the vineyards and fields toward Bonnieux so idyllic, that it's very tempting just to stay put.
We really enjoyed our stay in this house. Thank you so much Caron and Finn. The Location could not be better, it is close to all our favorite places in the Luberon. The view from the terrace across the valley is spectacular. In the house we found all we needed for a wonderful stay. Our two dogs enjoyed the time also. We are hoping to return again.
My wife and I stayed three nights at this wonderful apartment in Lacoste. We were warmly greeted by the owners, Caron and Finn, who live above and were helpful, attentive, and great to chat with. The listing is exactly as described, clean and well-maintained, and best of all, quiet. The kitchen is well equipped and the terrace looking across the valley at the village of Bonnieux was perfect for eating meals and drinking a bottle of local wine in the evening. For breakfast, there were croissants and eggs available a short walk from the apartment. Market day in nearby villages provide delicious bread, cheese, salami, fruit, and wine. What more do you need?. We enthusiastically recommend this property!
What a gem! Stayed here for 4 nights & didn't want to leave. Ever. The apartment has character, stunning views and all mod cons, right down to the almost obligatory straw basket for market shopping (don't miss Lourmarin on Friday morning - the best market in the region). We went to a Rameau concert in St Luc church in nearby Menerbes which was wonderful, with a meal (not cheap but good) at Maison Truffe et Vins.
Or have lunch at Cafe de France just below the apartment, another 'must do'.
We're already planning a return. If you want comfort, views that last forever and helpful hosts then this is the place?
I was in Caron's apartment and the view was wonderful, the apartment clean and comfortable bed. Close by there's a bar to have breakfast in the morning.
Each village in the area has a market so it is possible to find one on every day of the week, each with it's own character.
Cote du Rhone wine valley is 45 minutes drive away and offers numerous wine tasting vineyards.
