About Jim Rankin

We live in Pennsylvania and enjoy the comforts of our country home which rests on 10 acres. We live close to our children and grandchildren and travel often.

Jim Rankin purchased this villa in 2010

Why Jim Rankin chose East End

We had visited the island and happened to drive by this magnificent home. We did an abrupt u-turn when we saw the sign, Model Home for Sale, Come In, and that we did ! We purchased the home and have been delighted with this Retreat every since, you will do the same.

What makes this villa unique

The views are so remarkable, you can spread your arms out wide and that is about the view you will see. Listen to the waves come in while relaxing in one of two master suites, each with its own over-sized walkout patio. You will have plenty of room in these 17x17 masters with king sized beds. You can see the ocean while laying in bed. The third bedroom is equipped with a queen sized bed and a walkout to the pool deck. All Rooms are 10' tall, have Hunter Fans with high vaulted ceilings, further adding to its spaciousness. There are 7 Sliding Glass Doors, one in each bedroom, two in the dining room and two in the family room. Each is over-sized at 12 feet wide and 8 feet high, providing a wonderful view of the ocean from every room in the house. You will find yourself just sitting in amazement in this truly one of a kind home.

Endless Breeze = "Endless Peace"...

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were privileged to have stayed @ Jim & Cora's home in the Eastern District of Grand Cayman. Although a little precarious to find once we landed - we soon figured out - "stay left and follow the guy in front of you" - LOL. We couldn't believe we arrived without getting lost! Study the map and just stay on the road from the airport and take every "true" left exit at the roundabouts. You will always be on the same road - it just changes names all along.

The home is absolutely pristine - 3 masters with 3 ensuites and all 3 have doors to their areas which is great for several couples traveling together wishing privacy. As it was just the 2 of us - we almost felt a little overwhelmed by the gorgeous space (but soon settled in).

As we have travelled from the frozen tundra of Canada - we took advantage of the breeze - shut the A/C off and enjoyed the cooling breezes throughout the house with the doors open. It's what we consider "Canadian A/C"!

The pool was perfectly kept, the patio furniture very comfortable and the view and sound of the sea waving in all day was unforgettable.

Even though we travelled into Georgetown and to the Countryside Plaza for groceries and the gym - we kept finding ourselves saying "let's go back to the house". It is so peaceful and serene - we just didn't want to leave it.

Couple of notes though - the house is not in a "gated" community which we found hard to get used to - the openness to the road and the neighbor next door was at first a little discomforting - but we soon realized how private the pool and beach area was and how safe the area was. Also - be VERY careful when you are out sunning on the deck or in the pool which have sun ALL DAY LONG - FABULOUS! - but the "endless breeze" keeps you cool but you have no idea how HOT the sun is and you could be a crispy critter in no time. We are true "sun bunnies" and we didn't venture out until about 2 or 2:30 with 15 SPF and could only handle an hour or hour and a half.

We did have one small issue with running out of propane in the middle of cooking dinner - but Pearlene & Jim addressed the problem immediately and were very gracious in their follow up.

And - if you all of sudden hear a low tone "beep beep" and can't figure out where it is coming from - check the thermostat in the living room - it will say "Lost Internet Connection" - when this happens - the alarm goes into a "check mode" and emits a low beep beep. It happened a couple times.

A great week in the Caymans

  • 5 of 5

What a great choice. The house is beautiful - unlike some properties, the house was better than the pictures showed. Extremely clean and roomy - top of the line! Both master suites were beautiful and very comfortable. The pool was great after a hot day. Nothing but positive on this property...I hearty recommend it any one.

One note - the house is very private being located on the east side of the island - making a car a necessity.

More than we hoped for!

All the reviews prior to this one are 100% accurate. It was perfect - thank you so much for letting us stay in your little piece of heaven! I could have sat all day just watching the sea and hearing the waves whilst a warm breeze engulfed me. A little tip - Tukka's is a great place to eat and they will even drive over and pick you up!

We had an AWESOME time. We vacationed with our 2 adult children, their spouces and a 12 year old niece. Spacious, beautiful, extremely clean home. Plenty of room and privacy for all. The house, amenities and the view were better than described. The owner Jim was extremly helpful and ensured everything was tip top. So glad we did this.....made more wonderful memories. No one wanted to leave.

Tukka great place for happy hour or dinner, go at 5pm to feed the frigget birds, really fun.

Winter Get Away

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home. Immaculate, well appointed kitchen, and hotel quality linens which allowed for a relaxing beach vacation. Everything you need is provided right down to the snorkeling gear. The location of Endless Breeze allows you to take in the sweeping views of the sea and sound of the rolling waves whether it be from the large deck perched in a lounge chair or from inside looking out the panoramic windows. We have done extensive traveling, and we would come back again & definitely recommend this home to a friend. You can fill your days with the many things to do in the Cayman's, or just relax poolside or snorkeling right outside your door. Eat out, or eat in, it's all a matter of preference. We did both, eating in, cooking the fresh fish that the fishermen brought in daily bought dockside was a real treat having been raised on LI. The drive to Rum Point in itself is scenic enjoying the turquoise waters and spotting a parrot or two in flight.Once you get to Rum Point it's a delightful experience. Have a drink and a bite to eat sit back and enjoy! Don't forget to go to Starfish point while you're at Rum Point, wade in the water ankle deep with the red starfish at your feet! Mentioned in other reviews listed here there are many suggested "things to do." Jim is very prompt with replies to any questions or concerns you may have. Plan a visit to the Caymans, stay at Jim and Cora's beautiful home on the quiet East side if relaxation is what your seeking ... you won't be disappointed.*The air temp. for our visit was in the mid to high 70's with wonderful "endless breezes." ... For this time of year the pool was too chilly to swim in for us, we did enjoy swimming in the sea and snorkeling! We did miss having a hot tub to enjoy the views and starry evenings. Perhaps for guests traveling from other parts of the world where the water temps. are always a bit brisk it's not a factor ;-)

Fabulous Rental and Value

  • 5 of 5

To start, the pictures of the rental do not do it justice. From the moment you walk in, you are impressed by the tall ceilings and fabulous finishes throughout the home with great views of the ocean from every principal room. We were two couples on the trip and the home could quite comfortably have accommodated a third. The location is spot on for someone looking for a more remote private setting, yet only a 20 minute drive to essentials (also appears to have a great bus service if you didn't want to rent a car). We've rented and driven in Turks and Caicos and Curacao and must say that this island had the best road infrastructure and drivers that we have experienced. Back to the villa which quickly made you feel like you were at home. It was very clean and well equipped with the exception of some kitchen essentials such as a good chef's knife and glass martini and wine glasses. While is it okay to drink wine from a plastic glass by the pool, it is not the best for a nice red at dinner. This would be the only minor issue and partly taken care of as we bought and left and good knife and martini glasses. A small gift for allowing us to stay in their home. The waterfront is rocky but makes for great exploring and make sure to venture in for some snorkeling which is quite spectacular right out front your door. Lots to do and explore on the island. Make sure to visit the market on Saturday morning but go early. We went at 8:30 and already much of the good product was gone. SMB is beautiful as is Rum Point which costs nothing to enter although you must buy your food and drinks, though no charge for beach chairs and it has a beautiful beach. Now for the people, Pearlene, who looks after the villa was fabulous and responded immediately to requests. She even brought us a knife from home. We had some issues with the cable and both Pearlene and Jim (villa owner along with his wife) were quick to respond and try to get it resolved but you have to remember, it is "island time" and things get done when they get done. Overall a great house, a great location, great value and best of all, great people. I have no problems recommending this location to anyone looking for a safe, quiet and relaxing holiday and home.

This beautiful single family home is situated just 15 minutes from Rum Point and is set on a point providing a full view of the ocean. The house itself is just 50 feet from the waters edge, and just 5 minutes past Frank Sound Road. There are many restaurants to choose from and excellent Sunday Brunches and local dining just minutes away.

Our beach at Half Moon Bay is typical of much of Grand Cayman's coast outside of 7 Mile Beach, with iron shore and rocks prevalent. Our beach itself is sandy, and there are several good snorkeling reef heads and lots of fish in our bay, but you'll have to navigate some rocks in your entry to the water. Water shoes and/or flippers are a must. Once you traverse a few yards of rocks, the water depth is sufficient to begin swimming throughout the bay.
