It is fully furnished and includes quality linens, bedding and cooking implements. Comfortable, quality mattresses and pillows are provided for your comfort and enjoyment. In addition, Tulum boasts many great restaurants and tourist attractions, besides the obvious allure of the sunshine, palm trees and that incredible turquoise water. We are Canadians who live part-time in Mexico. We're a married couple (we married in Mexico). We have 5 awesome grown children and one adorable Mexican rescue dog. We spend our winters in Tulum and the rest of the year we live in British Columbia, Canada. In Canada we live in the great Canadian wilderness and many enjoy outdoor activities. Hubby is a fishing fanatic so going south allows him to fish all year round! We enjoy travelling and the tropics. Making a home for ourselves in Tulum has been quite the adventure! We came first on a vacation and the following year, when deciding on where to go, we realized we wanted to return to Tulum as there was so much still to see there and we really enjoyed our first short 10 day visit! This happened year after year!!!! One of the things we found lacking during our vacations was some privacy. Most hotels and rentals come with many suites and therefor many people. We wanted to escape to somewhere we could spend some quiet time. The obvious step was to make a home there. We love the Mayan ... both the place and the people. There's so much to do here! Tons of amazing cenotes and beaches and wonderful restaurants and other great venues! Always a festival or fiesta goin on ... love that about the Mexican people! Workwise, hubby is a drywall contractor in Canada and I work part-time with him as well as seasonally on forest fires (have for 15 years). Started as a firefighter and now travel around the province to the larger fire events. Hubby has owned his own drywall company for 40 years and we do mostly custom homes. He is also an artist and has been published in a book, Artists of the Nicola Valley. His oil paintings are mostly scenery of Canada but I tell him he's going to have to do palm trees and beaches! We struggled with the name for our home and we finally decided on KIN NAH, which means 'sun house'. We hope you'll love it as much as we do. Bienvenidos!
CORRINE AND JACK ANDREASEN purchased this house in 2011
We actually bought the lot and designed the home ourselves. Attention to detail and design helped to make this the amazing property that it is. We started in 2008 and we finished in May 2011. When people ask us how it is building a house in Mexico, we just tell them 'It isn't for the light of heart'!!! Nuff said!
Privacy! So many properties here are communal and you are living in a condo or townhouse with many close neighbours. We are a house and so that allows you a little bit more privacy and solitude. This is not a party house. If you wanna party down ... please choose another location. Thank you. Quiet time is between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. We are close to downtown but not living next door to the roosters. Still close to shopping and restaurants and only minutes from the ocean. Our environmental pool uses very few chemicals and is surrounded by lit onyx rock at night. Perfect for those midnight swims (that you are not allowed to have in the all inclusives).
We stayed for a week at Kin Nah, our last seven days of a two-month visit to Mexico. The house, with its meticulously tended grounds and absolutely beautiful pool, was the perfect oasis before our return to Canada. Located on the western edge of Tulum, within a short drive or reasonable walk to the town centre, Kin Nah offers a restful lodging away from the busy centre and beach but within easy reach of both. After days of kayaking, birding or exploring ruins at Cobá or Muyil, we spent many a peaceful hour on the covered balcony. Our host Corrine offered a very warm, friendly and engaging welcome as well as tips on how to enjoy the delights of Tulum and area. We highly recommend Kin Nah for your visit to this delightful corner of Mexico.
We stayed at KIN NAH for 2 wonderful weeks. What a pleasant surprise. We have stayed in many places in Mexico over the years (even 5 Star Resorts) The location was great for us. Very quiet hardly any traffic. You could use her bikes or a taxi was 30 Pesos to Centro. The Fiesta was on and we enjoyed hearing the musica from the square every evening. Our room was at the front of the house overlooking the pool. We really enjoyed having our coffee each AM on OUR own patio listening and watching the birds and reading our books. Sunsets were lovely each night from our patio.
Our stay was the end of a 5 weeks holiday a perfect ending. Just about every day after our travels we loved the pool. Easy access for me who has knee issues. Deep enough in case you like to dive in. Pool was clean as can be. Corrine was extremely helpful answering any questions and her suggestions of where to eat and things to do were awesome. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you would need. We even used the Popcorn Popper. She had coolers for the beach and made ice that was ready in the fridge. Also waiting for us was a huge bowl of fresh fruit, hot sauce and a neat surprise she brought from Canada for her guests. She had a bit of coffee and filters just in case we didn't get to the store. If you needed anything she would provide it (we didn't need anything it was all there)
Everything everywhere was Spotless. Teri did an excellent job of keeping everything clean and tidy. I appreciated her lovely garden with so many plants and lovely flowers. We enjoyed a fresh Papaya from her tree. Sorry we did not meet Jack he was in Canada.
Their home was built with tender loving care and that is the way they look after all of it.
Thanks Corrine for a nice way to end our holiday in Mexico. We hope to be back one day.
Sorry I cannot include the lovely photos I took of Kin Nah. What you see in her photos is exactly what it is like.
It was the perfect place for us. The apartment is nicely decorated and confortable. There is a pool and a beautiful garden. It is a little bit out downtown (south of town) but we had a car so this wasn't an issue for us.
Corinne and her mom (Jack wasn't there) were so nice and helpful. When we arrived there was a fruit basket on the table and and beers in the fridge. She gave us great suggestions for restaurants along the beach and in town. We highly recommend the place. We will come back!.
We just spent a month at KIN NAH and it was a perfect spot for us. It's in a quiet neighborhood and we biked everywhere, including to the beach (and we're not spring chickens!). Simple, spotless apartment (no TV, microwave, thank goodness), great private porch, wonderful pool and well-landscaped yard. Best of all, Jack and Corrine are the perfect, helpful hosts with excellent suggestions for getting around both Tulum and the area. They created this spot with love and attention. All of it a nice contrast to the Tulum beach scene and we grew to really appreciate the town. We would love to come back.
It was perfect for us because it was our first time in Mexico. And they helped us whith everything where to go, what we should see, some nice restaurants and mutch more. So I can warmly recommend too stay at Kin Nah. Jack and Corinne is fantastic and the pictures of the suite and the house doesn't lie it was beautiful.
We have been to Tulum a number of times, but always stayed on the beach. We're considering buying a property there so thought we'd try renting nearer where we would buy, so I'm not sure our perspective will help others. That being said, it was a nice property. Terry the housekeeper was very nice. If you don't rent a car, it's a 1/4 mile + to get to the main road to get a cab. And I'm not complaining here, but if you use the bikes, be careful. The seat on one moves as you go over rough terrain. I tightened it done as much as I could to no avail.
Tulum is the destination for your tropical pleasures. You can do as little or as much as you want here. There's so much to see and explore. Amazing cenotes, ruins, snorkelling, diving, beaches, eco-tours, fishing, swimming, bird watching, kite boarding, jungle adventures and tourist attractions that include zip-lines, maya shows and zoos. Or a beach and a book on a deserted beach. Great shopping, excellent restaurants and the most amazing beaches in the world!!! Come and stay with us and enjoy our little piece of paradise! We are located in Tulum just outside of the main downtown area edging on the jungle. It is quieter than in the pueblo but only an 8 minute walk to downtown and a ten minute car ride to the beach. We know you will love your visit to Tulum and we hope to see you again next year!
