This property is managed by Destination Mauna Lani LLC. Shig and Maya Shiwota personally manages it. They are full time residents of KaMilo, are within walking distance of all the properties they manage. Shig is a Director on the KaMilo Home Owners' Association.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

We recently celebrated my husband's 80th birthday with a week-long stay at KaMilo. Our group consisted of 15 adults and 8 children, ages 5 to 18. We found three 4-bedroom units in KaMilo that were close to each other and to the recreation area (pools, fitness center, pavilion), all managed by Shig. During months of planning, he was patient, gracious, knowledgeable, and responsive in answering my questions. His "Insider's Guide" booklet was supremely helpful, and his recommendations proved to be spot on.

Our beautiful, spacious units easily accommodated meals that included all 23 of us without feeling crowded. The bedroom configurations worked out perfectly. The unusual (to us) lock-box for entry to the units turned out to be the perfect solution for multiple inhabitants often going their separate ways. We couldn't have been more pleased.

During our stay, my husband and I hosted two catered dinners for our group: an Arrival Dinner prepared in our kitchen by a great chef/caterer from Waimea, and a more formal Birthday Dinner held in the wonderful KaMilo Gathering Place Pavilion (Shig's suggestion) catered by a Mauna Lani chef who used the barbecue and other cooking facilities to create a magical celebratory dinner. We were able to reserve the Pavilion for the whole evening. These dinners turned out to be far more comfortable and congenial than trying to find restaurants for such a large group.

Our group made the most of KaMilo: the lap pool, free style pool, hot tub, and fitness center got a lot of use thanks to being close by and perfect for a short or long visit; the private beach club was enjoyed for its beautiful setting, wonderful snorkeling, and great food at the restaurant. The nearby Foodland was a great convenience. Throughout the island, scenery was spectacular, sunsets breathtaking, and colorful fish and huge honu lounging on the rocks memorable. The Big Island is incredibly well-suited to suit a wide variety of interests.

Supporting and underlying all the fun was the comfort of our clean and luxurious accommodations. The pictures on all three VRBO sites capture the beauty of the furnishings, but being there brings out their ability to house 9 people without feeling at all crowded. Any questions or concerns were addressed easily and immediately.

KaMilo at Mauna Lani is a great location. A KaMilo residence managed by Shig and his wife, Maya, is the perfect answer to whatever your needs might be.

Beautiful House!

I stayed at this rental with some friends. We all have children and we were so comfortable! The house is decorated beautifully and in great condition. We all had our own separate rooms/bathrooms so we could spend time together in the spaceous common areas or retreat to our rooms. The property management did a great job communicating and responding to inquiries before and during our stay. The Beach Club has some of the best snorkeling right off shore on the island (and I've snorkeled all over the island), also great for small kids. The KaMiloarea is also very quiet and the shopping up the street is very convenient. I would highly recommend staying at this rental!

Relax and have a great time! Perfect in every way!

We loved our "girls" trip here. There were 5 of us traveling and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This plantation hideaway is so wonderful and not to be passed up. We had plenty of space and enjoyed morning coffee on the lanai and evenings filled with barbecuing and sipping Mai Tais. If cooking isn't your thing there are many restaurants nearby to enjoy a meal out. We walked, played golf, used the exercise room, went on a canal excursion, laid by the pool, snorkeled, paddle boarded and relaxed at the very comfortable Beach Club (paddle boards & snorkeling gear available for rent at the Club). We even enjoyed a picnic lunch while on an adventure in our rental car. Don't miss out on this unique property!

Best Place On The Island

I did a "girls getaway" last November, We rented this amazing villa in Mauna Lani. Everything was spotless, well-kept and stocked with necessities.
We wanted to be close to some top restaurants (Ruth Chris & Tommy Bahama, and Monstera Noodles & Sushi.)
This villa was stunning and furnished like a model home.
We hit the grocery store prior to checking in which saved us a ton of money. We were able to eat breakfast every morning on our spaciuos quiet Lanai before taking our daily walks on the coast. It gave us plenty time to do lots of catching up and laughing. This place would also be perfect vacation stay for two or three couples. There is a large master suite on each floor along with two other bedrooms downstairs.
I loved how the owner sent us helpful information and even receommended a private chef to make us a true Hawaiian dinner.
The villa is convenient to the properties fantastic pools and spas and there is a great gym as well.
I would DEFINITELY return to this place again. We felt "at home" immediately!!!!!! It was a trip of a lifetime!!!

Best Vacation Home Ever

We stayed here for two weeks for spring break with a family of 5. The home is the most beautifully appointed vacation rental we have ever stayed at. Everything about it was luxurious and we loved to wake up here and come back at the end of our beach and adventure days on the Big Island. The beds, linens, dishes, furniture, kitchen amenities, bbq, was 5-star all the way. The property managers were very gracious and helpful as they live down the road in KaMilo. I would recommend this home to anyone who truly appreciates comfort and cleanliness while away from home. As guests at KaMilo you get a pass to the private Mauna Lani beach club just down the road which is great for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding and lunch at the cafe. Hapuna Beach, our family's favourite, is 5 minutes drive down the road. It's conveniently located to grocery shopping, restaurants, Waikoloa resort and a quick 20 minutes up the hill to Kona.
