Located only 8 minutes from downtown St. Helena, this single level ranch style home features 3 bedrooms (2 en-suite), 4 bathrooms, living room, dining room, office, and a large family/media room. East of the Silverado Trail, it provides easy access to great restaurants, wineries and vineyards.
The house, beautifully decorated, features hardwood floors and tile. The front courtyard is secluded from the street via a winding driveway and features a fountain. There is a vegetable & herb garden in a separate courtyard just outside the kitchen window.
The backyard features another fountain off the master bedroom, and a deck overlooking the hillside with a southwestern view of the Napa Valley and Mayacamas Mountains, with beautiful sunsets. As the morning cloud cover below burns off to reveal the views below, some have called it “heavenly”, others “paradise”. There is a hot tub, and Weber propane grill on the deck, as well as ample patio furniture. There are fruit trees around the property as well (orange, apple, asian plum, fig, and olive).
The living room features a vaulted ceiling. Both the living room and dining room feature french doors with views across the valley. The family/media room features a 60 inch HD TV, DVD and cable TV. The house has high speed cable and wireless internet, which extends to the rear deck, and there is a printer in the office. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven, gas cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, etc.
The master bedroom features a Tempurpedic king size bed, vaulted ceiling, an oversized walk-in closet, an en-suite bathroom, and sliding glass doors to the deck & views. The second bedroom has a queen bed and en-suite bathroom. It also has pocket doors that open to the office, with its deck and views. The 3rd bedroom has twin beds, and its own bathroom across the hall.
There are hiking and biking trails nearby. It's a five minute drive for access to tennis courts(free), a pool (fee), and a fitness center (fee).
In terms of convenience, access, comfort and safety, this home is a great place to stay!
We had a wonderful time staying at this home. It was very comfortable, clean, peaceful and very well maintained. The furniture was updated and very comfortable to relax on. The bathrooms were clean and updated, the bedrooms were comfortable as well. The rear deck offered outstanding view of the valley. The was our first trip to Napa and we plan on returning next year...and will be staying at this home.
This was our fifth trip to wine country and the first time staying on Howell Mountain. The outside space and views from this home were absolutely stunning. Fog over the valley one morning made for some amazing photos.
The house was also very nice and comfortable, with various spaces to gather or hang out. There were four of us but it could easily accommodate several more guests.
It is a bit of a windy drive up the mountain but well worth it for the view and still quite close to St. Helena and a ton of great wineries.
We would definitely recommend it.
The pictures reflect the clean, well-kept, luxury this house offers. The description is exactly as portrayed. The view was spectacular. 10 minutes from great restaurants, two gyms, grocery stores, shopping, and you're "living" in the country, so peaceful and beautiful. I can't say enough about it.
Everything you could possibly think you would need is provided. The kitchen is has been renovated - looks great!! They even had ripe figs on the tree!!!
And if you enjoy Howell Mt Cabs, WOW!!! You can do an entire day and not even leave the mountain. Cade, Ladera, Cimirossa, O'Shaunessy to name a few!!!
The owners were delightful to deal with and very quick with a response to Any question!!!
We would stay there again and will recommend to everyone!!
We stayed here after Christmas with our infant twins and my parents. This was a beautiful property up on Howell Mountain. It was ideally set up for extended families, with the two master suites on opposite ends of the house. The kitchen had not yet been renovated, but it was much nicer than the photo made it appear, with high-end (KitchenAid), if not new appliances, and plenty of storage and nice serving ware.
The views were absolutely stunning as advertised, but the hot-tub was even better, with a panoramic view peeking out under the branches of an orange tree laden with winter fruit. My father, who was escaping the chilly Northwest truly appreciated that little corner of heaven.
Location-wise, we loved the fact that the house was about 10-minutes up the hill from town, but it seemed miles away from everything when we wanted to retreat. We visited nearby CADE winery (stunning - and literally just around the corner), and took almost daily trips into St. Helena or "down-valley" to Yountville or Napa via Silverado Trail (SO much better than Highway 29). The house during our visit was a tiny bit of a "work-in-progress," with some renovations still scheduled, but it's clear the owners are doing everything with top-of-the-line finishes and decor. The renovated rooms are gorgeous, serene, and "metro-chic" with deep greys and high-end Restoration Hardware furnishings. It rivaled some of the nicest hotels we've visited in SF and NYC. Lastly, the owners were gracious and very responsive. Our initial email conversation about the house with Mickie the owner, is what sold me on this particular property in the first place, but subsequent communication was prompt and delightful. It's clear you're dealing with someone who cares!
We stayed during harvest and enjoyed fabulous weather each day and beautiful starry nights on the deck. This is a spotlessly clean barefoot house! Perfect for entertaining. Designer elegance and simplicity--- so relaxing. Perfect location, close to everything but up in the sky away from roads, lights. Very special hillside perch. Owners very warm and thoughtful.
The house is located between Angwin and St. Helena.
There are hiking, biking, and other recreational activities available in Angwin. There are several wineries & vineyards on Howell Mountain. As you head toward St. Helena, you pass the Silverado Trail with its many wineries & vineyards.
