A Shore Thing is owned and cared for by Dan and Alli. Dan and Alli have been together for two years. They live in Fife Lake with their three younger children while their oldest son is out on his own.
Dan is a life-long resident of Fife Lake aside from his 8 years of active duty in the Navy. Alli is a Kentucky native who spent her adolescence downstate and fell in love with the area (and Dan!).
Alli Wilson purchased this house in 1998
Dan poured his energy and vision into custom building A Shore Thing from the beginning before the house was built. Dan hand-picked and cut the trees for the lake house. He chose five different kinds of wood including white pine tongue-and-groove cathedral ceilings in the master bedroom; elm and pine tongue-and-groove ceilings in other bedrooms; red and grey elm hardwood floors; cedar for tongue-and groove ceilings in the kitchen, interior window trim, and exterior trim; and all the bird's eye maple trim and molding on the inside and outside of the home.
A Shore Thing was a primary residence for several years until Dan and Alli started updating the home in 2013 and decided to share the lake house with vacationers. Dan's children grew up in the house; his ancestors were one of the first families to settle in Fife Lake. Dan took extra care to to maximize the natural light, lakeviews, and use local trees and wood so the home would be a great representation of Northern Michigan.
Dan was able to create A Shore Thing into his ideal lake home. The bedrooms are spacious and the views are stunning. The fireplace in the living room overlooks the lake; it adds that special touch on winter nights after being in the snow all day. The kitchen is a great gathering place and the home is ready to host several people at a moment's notice.
A Shore Thing is the perfect place to be whether you want to get escape inside away from the cold or allow the warmth and sunshine in. The private beach provides a view of sunsets that we can't live without; come and visit and you'll see why!
