-The people are welcoming and the natural untouched beauty of the Island is unsurpassed.
Marigot Bay is the quintessential Caribbean cove, framed on three sides by steep emerald hills and skirted by palm trees. There are some small but secluded beaches here. Some of the Caribbean's most expensive yachts anchor in this bay.
Of the many beautiful properties in Saint Lucia we chose Villa Papillon based on Location, Location, Location!
Me and my sister stayed 7 nights at villa papillon and had a wonderful time! We were greeted by the property manager who was wonderful and available to us during the entire stay. I arrived at the villa earlier than my sister as we were both travelling to St.Lucia on our own. When I arrived (earlier than expected), the property manager offered to drive me to the grocery store as we had not rented a vehicle. This was exceptionally helpful. The villa is a short walk downhill to the Marina, where a quick water taxi brings you to the beach. This spot is honestly a great location, and at the same time very private and safe. At the exception of the Marigot bay beach club which is located across the bay itself, you won't find anything as close to the beach as this. The villa was clean, beautiful, and all the staff were exceptional. I have nothing but great things to say about this villa. If you stay in villa papillon you will not be disappointed.
we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to st lucia. villa papillon was very nicely furnished and in impeccable condition. we were very happy to have the kitchen facilities for our stay and felt very much at home. we spent a lot of time on the balcony, just hanging out in the perfect temperature looking at the lush trees. it all felt quite luxurious. the house manager and driver, cyrus was wonderful. he was always friendly and happy and we felt lucky to have him as our guide. we were initially considering renting a car, but were so happy we had not, as he really was able to show us so much more of the island than we would have discovered on our own, plus he knew the ins and outs of places. (sugar beach was amazing!) he was attentive to our needs and forgiving of our last minute changes (due to feeling a little ill one day). we felt well looked after.
It was our wedding.....The owner of the Villa was very wonderful to us; even before we arrived in St. Lucia she helped in making arrangement for our wedding - giving us tips on what to do, people we should contact for information, Places of interest and also advised the property manager to insure that we have an enjoyable experience and indeed he did. We were welcome at the villa unexpectedly with champagne.
On arrival in St. Lucia, the property manager met us at the airport with a warm welcome spirit, helped us with our luggage and while driving back to the villa give us all details about the Island and where we should shop and eat. The property manager is a very wonderful person, never a dull moment with him. He comes by every morning and evening making sure that everything was ok. He was very instrumental in arranging our wedding reception at Juliette Restaurant - great food, excellent service, awesome view, wonderful people.....he even participated in our wedding ceremony - always ready to help in all things. The maid is also a very wonderful person warm and helpful making sure everything is comfortable.
The property with cable TV and internet plus other great features, keeping you up to date with world news and entertainment, is just beyond any imagination. A very private hide away tropical rain forest setting just few minutes walk from the beach, shops, Bank and Restaurants is like paradise. A short morning walk to the top of the hill catching the fresh breeze starts your day with happiness. We were very delightful to find such beautiful villa and lovely people.
If you ever travel to St. Lucia for any reason we recommend that you stay at Villa Papillon, contact the property manager for pick up and go with him from there onward. He is a very pleasant and unforgettable character.
Enjoyed our short stay here at the apartment. The house is so close to the Marina Village and docks that we could walk to everything in just a few minutes. The area is quaint and picturesque. A smile and “good morning” greeting came from just about everyone we encountered. The beach across the bay is nice we were not hassled too much by locals wanting to sell their wares. We felt very safe walking around Marigot at all hours. We would highly recommend a visit.
This apartment was a surprise we were not expecting granite countertops gorgeous surroundings and complete privacy! It was the perfect little honeymoon hideaway for us. We never needed a car because the house was practically in the marina village by all of the restaurants and of course “my fav” THE BEACH! There is a sweet woman selling local food by the rasta water taxi stands that we visited daily before heading to our spot under the coconut tree. I’m glad my husband found this little treasure for us and would recommend it to friends.
The description is apt. This place is close to everything at the bay. Only footsteps away to the action. Also, a cove, quite private over the hill, is a short lovely hike. The accommodations were terrific, the photos do not do it justice. Beyond that, it affords luscious privacy, something sorely lacking in many of the lodgings at the bay. You are embraced by the jungle. The owners were gracious, attentive and above all, fun. Have had lots of good VRBO hosts over the years, not a bad one yet, but here it was sublime. Go there, stay there, enjoy proximity AND privacy. And be happy.
