About Damon Rogers
Damon (originally Mary Damon) and Mark Rogers feel privileged to be the custodians of Damon's family home, Stone Oaks, built in 1919. Mark is a retired Naval officer and upon retirement in 2000 they returned to their Franklin roots! Mark served for 30 years and as a couple they have lived and travelled the world. It is evident they collected during their Navy years, however, the Southern influence and love of antiques abound. Although the family home was built in 1919, Captains Quarters and Generals Retreat (VRBO Listing #496793), the two out buildings located behind the original home, were built in 1970 as an office suite and guest home. Both Captains Quarters (VRBO Listing #497691) and Generals Retreat (VRBO #496793) can be rented to accommodate up to 6 people!

Why Damon Rogers chose Franklin
Originally built as an office suite behind the original 1919 historic family home, you will be amazed at the beautiful conversion from a spacious office suite into an elegant studio apartment. This 800 square foot apartment boasts brand new everything with the exception of the family antiques and collected prints throughout. The original office has become the elegantly appointed living room, king size bed and kitchen nook; the original powder room has become a fully stocked galley kitchen with microwave, doll-sized oven and stove (so precious!), 18 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, Italian dishes and serving pieces, with plenty of pots, pans, pyrex and cooking utensils; and what was the adjoining storage room has now become a fully tiled bathroom with tub/shower combination and houses a spacious walk in closet and separate laundry room! A must see to believe piece of real estate and even the owners are so excited about it they want to move in! The outside welcomes you with a sweet front porch, window boxes, and seasonal plants contained in wrought iron planters passed down for generations. Walk around to the side yard and enjoy badminton, corn hole or the fire pit supplied ample wood. Relax in the common patio area or cook on the outdoor gas grill located on the outside patio.
What makes this studio unique
Homeowner Damon Rogers is a preservationist and believes in repurposing from old buildings. Shutters throughout the studio came from her family home basement and repurposed for Captains Quarters. Civil War window grills were bought from a friend after a Civil War home was demolished. Mark and Damon have added so many personal touches to this conversion that both can see themselves one day living here! Damon says she has built her own doll house!
