3300SF LOG HOME IN FRASER, SLEEPS 12, LARGE-FUN-COZY, BIG VIEWS, 5 MIN TO TOWN

Tabernash House Rental Photos and Description

4+ BDRM, 3 full baths, one on each level, 3-car garage, huge deck, 3 living rms

You have picked the right location for your Colorado Adventure! There’s no place quite like Grand County Colorado! Make the most of your vacation by staying in this tastefully furnished 3,300 sf log home with big views and 3 levels for living and relaxing during your visit. The Talley Ho Ski Haus is a milled, log home nestled in the woods with endless views of the surrounding mountains and unmatched trail access directly from your home for biking and hiking. The great room / dining room combo boasts vaulted ceilings with tongue & groove architecture throughout, and pine wood beams and floor to ceiling windows--that keep this home comfy/cozy year round. The Ski Haus comfortably sleeps 10-12. I would like to keep the max at 12. Small to medium dogs considered, so please include a description or picture of your family pet with your inquiry. Kenneling your furry friend while you are away is even better!

This was a second home for the past 3.5 years, and the first time the Ski Haus has ever been a rental property. The lovely family I bought it from built it and lived here year-round with their two young daughters. They put in the commercial grade kids slide from the 1st floor down to the basement! You won’t see that anywhere else I don't suspect. You will be delighted by the amenities, and I think you will want to come back again and again after your first visit. At least that’s what all my friends and recent guests have said. There’s so much to do in Grand County that we hope you’ll check it all out--all 4 seasons.

A little about the Talley Ho Ski Haus: There’s a 3-car garage with plenty of storage for your skis and boards, mountain/road bikes, and you could even park a snowmobile or 4-wheeler since the national forest is just down the road --where outdoor enthusiasts like to venture out. The main level has a large foyer with space to remove your ski gear and a large closet to store your gear for the next day (ski rack in garage). The kitchen, dining and great room are open to one large gathering space for entertaining and family dinners. The large dining table is also expandable, with a pullout extension on each end. There are 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom with double sinks, water closet, and tub/shower combo on the main level. This bathroom has the main linen closet where you will find everything you need during your stay. The master suite takes up the entire 2nd level. As you climb the stairs you will have an open loft with magnificent views before entering the bedroom through French doors. This bedroom, large bath, and walk-in closet may cause you and your guests to draw straws or flip a coin to see who parks their suitcase up there! The master bath has a granite counter top with double sinks, a large soaker tub, shower, and water closet. Heading down the stairs to the basement you will find a family room and laundry room to one side, and a bedroom, kid’s play room with a twin over full bunkbed, and a full bath. This bath has a large pedestal sink, water closet, and tub/shower combo. And there’s one more space I like to call the Adult’s “Getaway” Room. Get away from the kids to read a book, cozy up to the fireplace, or watch the big game! I think you will be happy in this bonus room above the garage, and more big views to boot! Hopefully the photos will be inviting enough to send me an inquiry about your next vacation, as I’m happy to answer any and all questions you may have about Grand County and Winter Park Resort.

Sleeps 12 comfortably:

Master, 2nd floor, King, 5-piece bath, walk-in closet

Bdrm 2, Main floor, Queen, shared 4-piece bath

Bdrm 3, Main floor, Queen, shared bath, kid's slide access

Bdrm 4, Finished Walkout Basement, Queen, shared 3-piece bath

Kids Playroom, Basement, Twin over Full Bunk Bed, shared bath

Family Room, Basement, New Lane Sofa Sleeper w/Full Gel Mattress

If you want to stay in a hotel room, go for it, but if you want to stay in a beautiful home, with your very own well-equipped kitchen to cook great meals for your family, with every convenience you could want, enjoy our priceless views, and have easy access to Winter Park Resort, Colorado Adventure Park, Devil's Thumb Ranch, Grand County's Recreation Center, and all that Grand County has to offer! ...I look forward to hearing from you and helping you secure a great home for your family vacation!

There are many great restaurants in Winter Park, Fraser, and Tabernash. Here’s a short list of my favorites, but look through the menu guide I've left for you to get a complete list:

- Tabernash Tavern $$$- call for a reservation (970) 726-4430, my personal favorite

- Deno’s $$- great place, delicious, well priced food; family atmosphere

- The Library $- fresh brews, good food

- Azteca $-fresh Mexican food

- Devil’s Thumb Ranch $$$ - used to stay there before we bought and I really enjoy Heck’s Tavern and the Ranch House; Heck’s Tavern is much more reasonably priced and has a great happy hour; check-out Nordic skiing or horseback riding while there! And the spa is very nice after a day of skiing! Also Bella Vita Spa in Winter Park

- The Foundry $$ - Great pizza and other treats, plus a Cinema and Bowling!

- Venture into Grand Lake!

Hello! Thanks for viewing my property today. I'm a retired Air Force Lt Col, and I finished up my military service in Colorado Springs. I consider myself lucky to live in Colorado and look forward to sharing my home with you. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design at the Art Institute of Colorado in downtown Denver. I've always had a passion for design and architecture. Plenty of books in the house to make that point pretty clear!

Tamara Higgins purchased this house in 2011

Winter Park is the best mountain town for skiing and hiking! When you travel, do you prefer to feel like you're in a time share resort or a quaint little town? If you want that small town feeling with a big ski/board mountain, you'll absolutely love Winter Park and Fraser! If you mountain bike or enjoy hiking then the Spring thru Fall season is a must. This house is located near a great trail system. I'm discovering new trails every time I go for a bike ride. Puts a huge smile on my face, and I feel lucky to have this home in Fraser.

We selected this house for it's views, privacy, and excellent floor plan. I've put my own touches on it with the furnishings/decor and I've replaced the carpet and installed new granite countertops in the kitchen and master bath. I think you'll feel right at home! Your feedback is greatly appreciated so I can continue to make this a home you come back to every year! I have a guest book at the house and a 3-ring binder with room to add comments and 'nice-to-haves' for future visits so I can keep making my home a touch better with each guest!

Perfect stay in a lovely and very comfortable home

  • 5 of 5
What an amazing setting and location. A great get-away from the city! Enjoyed the comfort, the light (huge windows!), and the view. Close enough to all the Winter Park and Fraser amenities, yet away from others. Enjoyed the cozy bonus room above the garage and the view drim there.

Will be back!

So glad you could enjoy the mountains over the weekend. It is beautiful and quiet during mud season! You are welcome there whenever you need to get out of the city!

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5
This is a beautifully maintained and well-appointed home! We stayed with our two young children (3 yo girl, 6 yo boy), our parents and our two dogs. We had more than enough room and privacy and this place is so lovely that you really felt comfortable and relaxed. Our kids loved the slide from the upstairs room into the basement. However, do note that the bunk room is not a closed-off room. The basement is good if the parents want to sleep next to the kids or if kids are older and/or you have multiple kids to all sleep downstairs. Our kids are too young so we wanted them on the main floor closer to the master bedroom (which is the upstairs level) and not near the walk out. But our parents loved the basement, where they could have their own bathroom and TV area to unwind. Laundry room is large and stocked so we could wash our stuff easily and there is a nice large storage closet on main floor, which was great for all our cold-weather clothes and supplies. The main floor is hardwood, so we do recommend grippy socks/slippers for energetic kids;) Kitchen is everything you could want and need! You will need a car though to get around, but location is convenient to many of the amenities. Tamara was very friendly and easy to work with. I have no hesitations about recommending staying here! Family Tips: We ended up renting some skis at the shop in front of Alco on a whim, and had a great experience there. Grab a coupon book in town (or just mention it) and get 25% off and free kids' rentals with an adult's. Pool at the rec center is expensive for out-of-towners and is cold, but they do have nice kids' play area and we did enjoy it. Call ahead to reserve lane at bowling alley - it fills up fast! Free tubing hill at Hideaway Park was one of the highlights for kids - highly recommend. They have warm fire pits for adults and lots of free sleds lying around if you didn't bring yours. Snow Mountain Ranch is great for CC skiing! We did run out of time to try to sleigh ride though:( Next time!

Great owner!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for a week at this wonderful home. Decorated with great taste in a beautiful setting, fun was had by all. My boys 6&8 loved the slide and the huge yard area to play in the snow. The owner thought of everything and made us feel like we were on a true vacation. We rent from vrbo website several times a year and I must say this home was top off the list. It was so nice to not have to worry about toiletries, condiments, laundry supplies and etc when staying in a vacation home for just the week. Winter park is a great family destination and this was a great home to stay in!

A true Getaway

  • 5 of 5
This is a great house! We loved the rooms and various living areas as well as the thoughtful interior design across this cabin. It was in great shape upon our arrival and Tamara was a great host throughout the ski season. We can't wait to come back in the summer or next ski season! A true jewel close to Winter Park and in the middle of nature.

Why stay anywhere else !!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here during Christmas week. The place is amazing. Roomy, well laid out, well equipped with beautiful views. Comfy beds. Nicely maintained, relatively new, NOT one of the old tired places. Extremely quiet location out in the woods, but only 10 minutes from Safeway in Fraser. Dark skies if you like the stars! Owner easily available by text or phone for all our questions and needs.

The owner recommended all wheel drive vehicles and most folks might make use of that as the driveway has a slope to it (but the arranged for plowing always showed up on time!). I grew up driving on snow so no problems for me and my 2wd, your experience dictates your needs. The county roads out there are very well maintained.

In short, a great place in a great location with a wonderfully personable owner.

Best VRBO in Fraser!

  • 5 of 5
The Tally Ho Ski Haus was perfect for our four families gathering for some holiday fun. Beautiful home with awesome views, well maintained, great location, and of course the kid's slide made for a memorable vacation. We enjoyed the privacy of the layout of the multiple bedrooms/bathrooms, and the "gathering" spaces as well. It was a huge plus to have a nice 3-car garage to use so that we could load and unload out of the weather. The Fraser Valley is a great place for families and the Tally Ho Ski Haus is the best place to stay!
