Weehawken Apartment Rental Photos and Description

10 min. to NYC. 2 bedrooms with 1 Bathroom with all modern conveniences.

The apartment is conveniently located at the border of Weehawken and union city and only 2 miles or 10 min. Away from New York. The closest bus stop is only 200 feet away. The apartment has 2 nice-size bedrooms and each bedroom has a very comfortable brand-name queen-size bed. The sun room, where we have a nice sitting area with a custom-made dry bar and 4 chairs, has remarkable views - the Manhattan skyline and the Weehawken reservoir. The apartment, having preserved a lot of the original architectural character from 1920, added many modern conveniences and beauty of the updated kitchen with a top-of-the-line refrigerator that makes crushed ice and filtered water, convection oven, stove, dish washer and granite counter in 2009. Washer and dryer is conveniently located on the same floor. Extended from the kitchen is a bonus Brazilian-hardwood deck (15 x 20) with BBQ grill and Japanese gardens, which was designed by a professional landscape architect from Hollywood.

The apartment is 'fully furnished' and move-in ready & for your short-term or long-term needs.

I was born and raised in the area...I am a relocation specialist and relocated over 200 families internationally. I have put my property in the market for short-term rentals for the last 2 years via some other similar websites...so I am not new to this. We hope that the travelers will enjoy my house and the City as much as I do.

Andrea Kaneko purchased this apartment in 2003

This is where my family grew up and I used to live here! The is a multi-family house and we are renting out the top floor.

It is an old house with a lot of old character but the apartment has been totally renovated and comes with modern conveniences. The kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances too. Anyone interested in crashed ice??? You can sit in the sun porch and enjoy magnificent Manhattan and water views OR you can sit and relax on the deck in the back and enjoy the Japanese zen garden!

Was our first airplane trip, first time to New York, first public transportation experience, first vacation rental instead of using a hotel - total success. The a Apartment was everything described. Comfortable and private for lounging, low key meals, and quite for sleep. Very close to every must see of the city using bus and subway and/or trains. Andrea and Hide are so sweet and accommodating, could not have asked for nicer hosts. Worth every penny, would rent again in a "New York" mineut! LOL. My only suggestion would be a little more seating in the living area. There are no Television sets in the bedrooms - which I love, but only 1 chair and 1 chaise in the living room (basically room for 2). Really loved this place!

Andrea is a terrific host who is passionate about the family property and having guests enjoy there stay. We arranged to meet andrea when we arrived and that worked out well. Two couples shared the 2nd floor apartment and used it as a home base for daily treks into the Big apple. It was nice having a relaxing breakfast before heading out each day and then coming back to the homey environment..deck, bbq, a/c, HD TV, and wifi. The apartment was as advertised...cute, spacious, clean and with modern conveniences. Apt. is very close to public transportation, groceries, and restaurants. A couple of tips..get an updated bus schedule for the 123, the bus took anywhere from 15-30 min to get to the 40th street/8th ave bus terminal in NYC based Lincoln tunnel traffic. The NYC subway is also there and you can get a week long pass for $30. Two blocks over from apt. are groceries, bakeries, liquor store, post office and restaurants. Take a 5 min walk by the reservoir. A couple of side streets have a great view of the NYC skyline at night. We felt safe walking around the area. We hope to return with our kids and have recommended andrea's place to friends. Thanks andrea.

We stayed there for almost a week. The fact that the apartment was spacious and open made us feel so relaxed. We go to New York every year and we normally stay in hotels or 'dormitory-style' apartment; however, now that we know there is a place like this, we will never go back to others. The apartment was just beautiful, luxurious and we were very satisfied. The owners were very kind and thorough too. We are planning to come back next year. "

If you are visiting New York City and you want a spacious, quiet place to retire each evening and you want to avoid driving in the city, then rent this apartment! Our family of four absolutely loved our stay here in July 2013. From the comfortable beds, to the modern kitchen (and yes, the ice maker in the fridge spoiled us!) to the beautiful backyard deck to the sunroom with a view of the Empire State Building – I could go on and on listing how tremendous this apartment was. Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, and many of the “little” things were also provided: laundry soap, dishwashing tablets, a new tin of coffee, even free long-distance calling within the us and Canada.

Location-wise, the area was quiet and felt safe. We often returned home at 10pm and the short walk from the bus stop was well-lit. The 123 bus that stopped at the corner of the street took us into New York City in 10-15 minutes, so long as we were not travelling in the heart of rush hour. As others have noted, check the bus schedule on-line or pick up a paper copy from the driver or from the Port authority. Note that the drivers will only accept $1 bills, so have exact change ($3.20) or buy some tickets once you reach the Port authority. From the Port authority we walked most places: Times Square, Broadway, The Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, Central Park. The streets are fairly close together and most of the time you find yourself much further along, much faster than expected. For the Yankees and Mets games we took the subway, and each stadium had its own station.

The only time we used our car was for the Statue of Liberty. The New Jersey ferry is a fifteen minute drive from the apartment and when we saw the line-up of people on the island waiting for the ferry back to New York we were so thankful that we had come from the Jersey side! If you do choose to drive into the city, be aware that there will be a toll on the Lincoln Tunnel, both ways. We found it so much more relaxing to leave the car on the street outside of the apartment (a parking permit will be provided) and take public transit.

Finally, I have to mention that andrea was absolutely delightful. She greeted us with warmth and treated us with affection. She also went above and beyond our expectations when she offered to take us on a driving tour of the area and even waited for us while we did some grocery shopping. She was a p
