Escape to what has been named one of the most magical destinations in New York State, the Adirondack Mountains. To take advantage of all the Adirondack Park has to offer, stay at Bev's Vacation Home, roomy enough for an entire family and conveniently located within minutes of the High Peaks and the many lakes, rivers and scenic venues, such as Lake Placid (home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games), Bev's Vacation Home is the perfect retreat in any season: kayak in the Spring, ski in the Winter, hike in the Summer and pick apples in the Autumn.
I grew up in this house with my mother and brother -- and there was nothing my mother liked was to host visitors! Over the years we have people from as far away as France and Ecuador my mother's hospitality. As a commitment to her memory, I wanted to continue to welcome others to visit one of the most beautiful places on earth....the Adirondacks.
Stephen Brownell purchased this house in 2013
As my childhood home, this house was perfectly located in the center of the village, with all your necessities within walking distance. In addition, the highways of the Adirondacks, Routes 3 and 30 merge just a mile from the house -- providing easy gateways to all that the Park has to offer.
Within minutes you can be on the slopes skiing in the winter, picking apples in the Fall, kayaking and fishing in the Spring, and biking and hiking in the Summer. With 46 High Peaks to climb and miles of nearby rivers and lake to canoe or kayak, you'll have a new adventure every day just outside your door!
Just minutes from Lake Placid and the Olympic Sites and the High Peaks, this is an outdoorsman's paradise. For skiers, we are located only 5 minutes from Big Tupper Ski Area, 15 minutes from Mt. Pisgah (snow tubing) and 40 miles from Whiteface Mountain Ski Area, the village retains all its 'lumberjack' charm -- including its friendly and welcoming citizens. Visit the reconstructed Train Station and the Wild Center (just minutes away). Prefer a quieter day, then visit the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake and the Visitor's Interpretive Center in Paul Smith's. Annual events include the Tinman Triathlon and the Woodmen's Field Days in July.
