Danvers Street is situated with the River Thames (near Albert Bridge) at one end of the street and the King’s Road, with its designer boutiques, fashionable restaurants and cafes at the other. Kensington’s museums and Knightsbridge are only a short bus ride away. South Kensington and Sloane Square tube stations are both about a 15 minute walk.
This special apartment is the whole top floor of the building and is reached by lift with private access direct into the long hallway of the apartment. To the left is a comfortable and well-proportioned sitting room which is a beautifully decorated with antiques, wonderful artwork, plenty of reading material on the bookcases, two white sofas, an armchair with a footstool, working gas fireplace, stereo system and a FreeView Digital TV. Through double doors from the sitting room is one of the many private roof terraces which overlook the chimney pots of Chelsea and a glimpse of the River Thames. This wooden decked roof terrace has a wicker table and chairs that seat six and is surrounded by mature Lavender bushes.
In a circular motion, from the sitting room is the dining room with a gold gilded, marble topped dining table able to seat six, then into the kitchen. The kitchen is fully furnished wish washer-dryer, dishwasher, an American style fridge freezer, integrated electric fan oven, separate grill, microwave, gas hob and extractor fan. The second door from the kitchen leads back into the hallway which has a separate cloakroom.
To the right of the hallway are the bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom, has a king sized double bed, bedside tables, access to half of the walk-in wardrobe (the owner keeps her own belongings in the other half), a chest of drawers, double doors with shutters onto a wooden deck with Lavender, en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower over the bath, double hand basins set into a marble vanity unit, heated towel rail and a toilet.
The twin bedroom has a built in wardrobe, double doors with shutters on to an Astroturf roof terrace. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, vanity unit with a sunken hand basin, heated towel rail and a toilet – this bathroom has a domed light well.
The single bedroom has a desk with WiFi router, built in cupboard with a flat screen FreeView Digital TV.
This really is the most wonderfully unique apartment. The decoration is stunning, simply done in whites and creams, wooden floorboards and all done in a quintessentially English style. You can relax on the roof terraces with a book, walk beside the river and cross over to Battersea Park, or wend your way up the King’s Road.
No smoking. Sorry - no young children.
Danvers Street is situated off the hustle and bustle of the King’s Road at one end and with the River Thames at the other end. One of the most beautiful of London bridges, Albert Bridge, is a 5 minute walk and is well worth seeing at night. Although Sloane Square is 18-20 minute walk, there are plenty of buses – 4 minutes walk away – that can take you to Sloane Square, Knightsbridge and the West End.
