Very private, gated, and walled in home is conveniently located just off the famous St Armands Circle. Newly renovated with marble floor and updated kitchen.
The property is located just down the block from St. Armand's Circle! That alone makes it a very desirable unit. This was my 4th visit to the Sarasota area and being able to walk into town for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and shopping -- not to mention the beach being so close, was a real treat.
The owner, Jerry, was very easy to work with. I was surprised that there wasn't a contract or security deposits. He represented the rental well and the photos do show the unit correctly.
There were a couple of issues when we arrived. One was the master bathroom had a broken faucet that was in the middle of repair so we couldn't use that sink. The shower door in that bathroom was also impossible to close -- it needs replacement. The good news is there are 3 bathrooms in total so that helped. Jerry had a plumber come immediately to fix the sink faucet. We left the plumber the key and he fixed the faucet. That helped.
The beds weren't made --- just sheets stacked on top of each one. My girlfriends weren't happy about that! The bathroom in the master wasn't very clean.
Also, Jerry said he didn't realize that we'd be there on the 31st, he thought we'd be there on the 1st. I thought that was odd because all of our correspondences said the "31st." He had even stated that in my last email explaining how to gain access to the unit. It wasn't a problem, just odd.
Jerry also mentioned to me (once I called him to tell him about the faucet) that the hot tub isn't getting hot. I said, "oh, maybe the plumber can check it out." He said that the pool and hot tub were "bonuses" and not really included in the unit. I thought that was odd because they were in the photographs and clearly show and mentioned them as extras. The hot tub ended up working and got up to 102 degrees -- simply lovely. The pool was solar heated and worked really nicely. We used the solar blanket to keep the pool warm.
The shed housed pool toys (we didn't need those!), beach chairs, umbrella, etc. That was a real bonus! There were also plenty of beach towels in the unit, which was really nice.
The kitchen is state of the art. Beautifully decorated, great appliances. We found plenty of dishes, silver ware, cooking equipment, etc.
We also loved the fact that there was a gate we could close at night. It gives you a little more of a secure feeling being on a busy street corner.
All in all, a good unit with good amenities and GREAT location!
