There is also a small full bath with tub and shower and a dressing area as well. The views are all beautiful regardless of where you're are around the house. It's a place you'll be able to relax and see how it would feel to live in paradise country, truly a place I feel you would enjoy staying in.
This is will truly become your "home" away from home!! Ahhh relax...want to see true Hawaii with out the commercialism? Come out to tranquil BOLTON RANCH. Beautiful green acres of grass and trees, horses and free range chickens---and don't forget the ocean view!
The house is located between Kona and Hilo. It's easy access to anywhere you want to go. And it's a gorgeous drive too. You are close to the Volcano National Park, black sands beach, green sands beach and lots of beach parks with grass and picnic tables. Don't forget to snorkel!
Rick and Shirley are the nicest people and quickly feel like family. They make sure you are comfortable and are always available.
Shirley keeps the house immaculate and makes sure it has everything you need. She doesn't miss a beat! If you need it--it is probably there! The kitchen is fully outfitted with all you need from appliances to dishes, cookware, coffee maker, toaster, bread maker, rice maker, microwave, fridge with ice maker, washer and dryer, and any utensil you can think of or need-----plus Oven mitts, dish towels and the list goes on....the pantry is stocked with staples--coffee, tea, sugar, rice, soups, cereals and more. Plus fresh eggs from the chickens! The bathrooms have hair dryers, curling iron, shampoo, soaps, the softest fluffiest towels ever and there are plenty of BIG beach towels to use too! The beds are super comfortable and there are extra sheets blankets and pillows if you need them.
There are 2 full bathrooms and the spacious kitchen/downstairs area is perfect for hanging out. Upstairs has a library and a TV with lots of movies and books to pick from. There is a big flat screen TV downstairs too with cable and WiFi and DVD player.
The Lani is great to relax on and watch the sun set and look at the beautiful well kept grounds around the house---watch the horses (they are tame by the way and will let you pet them). There is a charcoal BQ downstairs too! And lets not forget my friend, Miss Chicken, who laid two eggs for me every morning on the same patio chair downstairs! Still warm from her "bumm" I'd collect them and eat the freshest eggs I ever had for breakfast!
We stayed for 13 of the best days ever! I miss it already. The Big Island rocks! Thank you Shirley and Rick!
I cant say enough about the place. It was beautiful and so peaceful. Its a great place for just a couple or an entire family and the owner, Mrs Shirley was so helpful with everything. She made us feel right at home. There was even food for breakfast. I would absolutely stay here every time we visit Hawaii. We cant wait to go back.
You will be hearing from us again.
My family stayed with Shirley and Rick Bolton for two weeks in February 2015. WOW it was great! The house was wonderful and large enough for all 5 of us. The owners have put a lot of thought into the way the house is furnished. It was close to South Point and the Green Sands Beach (which we visited 3 times) it is also only 10 mins. from the Black Sand Beach. We would jump in the car and go to see the turtles when ever we felt like it. I have stayed on all the islands of Hawaii and this was the most peaceful. We left every screen door open all day and night. The wrap around upper deck has lounge chairs and tables. We loved the chickens and never had to buy eggs. We would definitively stay again
We really enjoyed our stay here for four nights. The house was very well stocked and really comfortable. We loved sitting on the wrap around lanai and watching the animals and beautiful scenery. Our kids really loved the house and the animals. Shirley was very kind and great to deal with. Wish we had more time here.
We stayed in this beautiful place for three nights. The house is immaculate. Shirley and Rick have put enormous thought, care and taste into furnishing this lovely home and providing everything a renter could possibly want. It was a pleasure to stay here. The kitchen has all sorts of things a serious cook would need, and lots of extras like spices and herbs, coffee, tea, rice, flour, all those things you might need but don't want to run out and buy for a short stay. And the outside is just as great! Their property is huge, and their animals include four horses and about a dozen very happy hens, who roam about freely on the lawns and provide endless entertainment for anyone sitting on the lanai catching a few rays and gazing at the distant prospect of the sea in one direction or the green hills in the other. The hens also produce wonderful eggs which Shirley puts in the rental fridge. These free range eggs taste really good; nothing like the pallid things one buys in the supermarket. One morning an especially generous hen laid an egg right on one of the downstairs patio chairs; when I picked it up it was still warm! That was a special moment! Kids would love this place. There is plenty to do round about if you feel energetic, and it is equally enjoyable if you just feel like vegging out, listening to the birds or reading one of the numerous books. Shirley is there anytime if you need her; the perfect hostess. Highly recommended.
This very spacious home was beyond our expectations! From the moment you arrived, you are enveloped by the serenity of those beautiful acres of land. The well trained horses and the hens (and their fresh eggs) makes this place even more charming. Both the property and the plantation are extremely well maintained and clean. Kitchen is well equipped. Bonus: my eight years old enjoyed board games and children books. Shirley is a perfect hostess. Perfectly located for trips to The Hawaii Volcano National Park, Green Sand Beach and Black Sand beach.
We're located halfway between Kailua Kona and Hilo with beautiful mountain scenery and the great Pacific ocean to admire, which makes it easy to travel in either direction. Our active volcano is located about 40 minutes from us. We have 7 1/2 acres with grazing horses to watch and a serene setting for rest and relaxation. Our weather is perfect with lots of sunshine. We offer our Aloha spirit to those who visit and our goal is to make your stay at our plantation house as enjoyable as possible. Just to let you know, we no longer have roosters on our property because of their noise disturbing our guest. We want your stay to be as pleasant as possible without roosters crowing. Also to let you know, our place is just a short distance from Green Sands beach and about 7 miles from Black Sands beach and Sea Mountain golf course. We also have 2 nice grocery markets within 12 miles and Punalulu Bakery within 2 miles. The mountainous country sides are beautiful, I'm sure you will enjoy visiting our home and for a short time you can see how living in this area would be.
