Amazing views, close to downtown, beautiful new house and property

This home has an open floor plan, lots of light and hardwood floors. The house is clean, modern, and comfortable.

The master has its own bathroom, a queen bed and large windows that look out into the woods and gardens.

The upstairs has two bedrooms. One has a queen and a daybed that opens to make two twins. The other bedroom has a queen and a double futon. The upstairs has a full bath with a tub/shower that is shared between the two bedrooms.

The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area and has a sectional couch and comfortable chairs.

The kitchen is brand new, modern and has all the basics you should need to cook and enjoy meals while staying here.

The dining area has a long table (center leaf can be removed if you want it smaller) and seats 8 comfortably but is capable of seating 10. We provide folding chairs to add to the seating capacity.

The covered porch is quite literally another room! It runs the length of the house and is 10 feet deep. There are rockers, adirondacks and a table that seats 6 comfortably and 8 if you squeeze.

Outside we have a patio area with a beautiful copper fire bowl and boulders for sitting around the fire. A short distance from the house is a picnic area that provides spectacular long range views. You will not want to miss this! We also have a loop trail that is about 1/3 mile long, plus some gravel roads for walking. If you are interested, give us a call when you are here and we will try to schedule a time for you to come see our chickens, ducks and goats.

About Steve and Louise

We bought this farm in 2010 and just finished building the vacation rental September 2013. We are so excited because having a farm with a vacation rental has long been a dream of ours! We have a small herd of French Alpine dairy goats and plenty of chickens at our home on the other side of the property.

Why Steve and Louise chose Asheville

I moved to the area 20 years ago to attend college at Warren Wilson College. I had to leave for 5 years to attend a doctoral program in Seattle, and though Seattle was a wonderful place, we couldn't wait to get our family back to the area. We have now been back since 2002 and watched this amazing town burgeon into a fun and popular tourist destination. This property is one of the few of its kind: a large parcel of land within 1 mile of Asheville city limits and only 10 minutes to the center of downtown.

What makes this house unique

This property is unique because you have access to beautiful spaces indoors and out. You also have access to woods and meadows, trees and views. It just depends where you decide to spend your time while you are here.

This house is also unique because it is situated on a farm, yet it so close to downtown Asheville and Biltmore Village. There are very few properties that can boast this fact. Most larger tracts are much further away or on steep land. This land is rolling and great for exploring.

Also, our land virtually backs up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway land, just look at the map. The entrance to the Parkway is only about 2 miles away and is the entrance where the Folk Art Center is. This is a great place to visit while you are here.

There are hiking trails both on the Parkway and at Warren Wilson College, which is only a few short miles away. We also have some short trails here on the property.

Superb hospitality

This is a lovely, clean, super comfortable home that lacks for nothing. It is fully stocked with all that you could need and then some. Having stayed in many rental homes over the years I can attest that this one is a cut above the rest. All paper products were supplied, cleaning supplies, trash bags, plush linens, even a dozen farm fresh eggs. The owners thoughtfully laid a fire in the fireplace and there was an abundance of firewood. These owners know the meaning of hospitality and were most pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this home and hope to return again next year for a third visit.

Wonderful stay!

Hosts were dedicated to making sure we didn't want for anything and that everything was very comfortable and to our liking. Stayed with my husband, mother and 2.5 year old daughter and it was perfect! Plenty of space, amazing view and atmosphere. Very close to downtown, parkway, and the sights. Would definitely return.

Asheville Reunion

I rented this wonderful home for a week long family and friends reunion, and it exceeded my expectations. The setting was private with beautiful views of the Smokey Mountains, very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. Yet it was close enough to Asheville to enjoy an afternoon of browsing galleries or an evening at one of the many top notch restaurants. Both the sunrise and sunsets were beautiful with the sky changing colors as the sun moved position behind the mountains. It couldn't have been more comfortable or better stocked with linens, dishes, kitchen supplies, even back-up of lightbulbs and batteries. The owners thought of every need and they truly care. Our first night was cold, and we enjoyed just sitting by the fire and experiencing the peace. We entertained with dinner parties and never ran out of supplies. The house was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and we had plenty of space for 5 adults. I highly recommend this rental.

An amazing week in an amazing location!

We agree with everything in the other reviews, plus. This was the perfect location for our first time visit to Asheville, NC. We we were in the mountains in our own special hideway with our daughter and granddaughter and only 5-10 minutes from everything we might need traveling with a young child. We can't say enough about this home and the hospitality of the owners. We loved the eggs and the recommendations on where to visit. The house has everything you might need, all linens, paper goods, etc. It was spot-less when we arrived with wood in the fireplace ready to start of fire. Also love how easy it was to reach the Blue Ridge Parkway where we found great hikes and views (we got to Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Missippi. We also recommend visiting the farmers markets for local produce, the WNC Nature Center is great for yound children, zip line at Navitat (teenagers/adults only), and the art and food scene in downtown Asheville. We highly recommend this rental!

Absolutely perfect...

This is our third time visiting Asheville and this time we stayed for a week at this fantastic rental property. The location is absolutely perfect.
The view of the mountains from the front porch are spectacular and the secluded location makes you feel like you are in the countryside. Yet, the grocery store is only 5 minutes away and downtown Asheville is only 15 minutes away. Plus, the famous Blue Ridge Parkway is very close by.
The house itself is only a year old and very clean with well-appointed rooms. The furniture and beds are very comfortable. (The bed linens were so comfortable, I had to ask the owner what brand they were!) The house is well-stocked including the kitchen.
The owners, Steve and Louise were so welcoming and friendly. Even before we arrived, they were very helpful at answering any questions that we had. Like the other reviewers, we were greeted with a dozen farm-fresh eggs (I'd never seen green eggs before!). They were very attentive and have thought of almost everything for the house (including spare batteries for the smoke detector that was chirping when we arrived!).
We were so happy with our stay that we have already booked again for next year! Hopefully we will have a chance to visit their farm next time.

Early fall trip

Location is great. Has the feel of being in the country with the convenience of the city and the Blue Ridge Parkway and other outdoor activities nearby. We were greeted by Steve with a dozen of muti-colored eggs gathered that day. The house is as pictured but you have to spend some time on the front porch to truly appreciate the view of the mountains. The house is very clean and well maintained and the furniture is both attractive and comfy. The owners have provided it with all the amenities to eliminate having to "shop" for basic needs such as paper products, soaps, spices, working cook ware, etc. It was clear from the first day it was important to the owners that they provide you with a good getaway stay. Accomplished!!! Hope to return.

This property is located within 10 minutes of the HEART of downtown Asheville, yet is on the edge of a 40 acre property and a few short minutes from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The setting is rural, but not remote. The house itself is in a cleared wooded area and gets a lot of light.

We are within a couple miles of restaurants, a drugstore and a large supermarket. We are also close to many trails for hiking including the Mountains to Sea Trail.
