Off the grid solar powered cabin is an exciting way to spend your stay and see what a small solar system could do for you! A cozy wood stove heats this two story rustic A frame ( easy lighting with a presto log ). The cabin features an upstairs bedroom, full size bed, covered deck, and a view of the river. Downstairs features tile floors, flatscreen dvd player, fridge/freezer, gas cooktop/oven, shower, toilet, wash sink, leather futon, foldout sleeping mat if needed, pots, pans, silverware, and a river view! Outside features a nice green lawn, fire pit patio, barbecue, big spruce trees, pathway to the river, SUV road to the river ( launch your boat ), bank fishing, rock hound, hunting, and a few yard games! If you have extra people that want to tent or rv camp we can arrange that to! Other things you can do, bogachiel trail, hoh rain forest, sol duc hotsprings, shi shi beach, Rialto beach, first second and third beach of la push, ruby and kalaloch beaches, are all well worth checking out!
Both born and raised in port angeles, and graduated from port angeles high school. High school sweethearts, married with 3 kids. Enjoy living on the olympic peninsula, as there is so much to do and explore!
Lyle Lyster purchased this cabin in 2000
This property has a lot of features hard to find anywhere else on the peninsula. Giant spruce trees, river view, huge gravel bar that tapers into the water, vehicle access, launch your drift boat, bank fish, hunt, count eagles, romantic setting, to much to list!
This was a perfect getaway for my family of four! Beautiful, peaceful setting. Close enough to town to get what you need, but far enough out of town to truly feel like you're in the middle of nowhere! Very comfortable, cozy cabin. The solar power was great! Had plenty of water for our needs. Only two suggestions: 1. Bathroom could use a door vice a curtain for a little more privacy 2. Fire pit could use a covered gazebo (Which in talking with the owner, will be completed this year). We will definitely be coming back and will stay here in this cabin again! Thank you for creating such a great little place off the beaten path! Look forward to staying there next Memorial Day weekend!
The entire weekend we were at the cabin was somewhat magical. I have never been through as many weather patterns and experiences in certain places in a weekend than I was on this vaca. Everything was beautiful; truly, a weekend that will never be forgotten and the cabin was at the center of it all! Thanks for everything!
The cabin was both cozy and accommodating. It had everything that we needed, and was the perfect location for fishing with the different rivers near by. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to check out the Olympic Peninsula and wanting an affordable yet super cozy place to stay near by. Also, the decor was a huge hit (Jackalope!!). We loved our stay and are grateful for everything the place had to offer. We hope to visit again in the near future!
Staying at this cabin was an excellent experience and highly recommended. This very reasonably priced, off-the-grid home provided a camp like feel but with all of the amenities. We were welcomed with a warm fire that definitely added to the cozy feel. Since we were on a fishing vacation, the on-the-river location is perfect. And it is just a short drive to a great walk/hike and more fishing. The cabin is clean and well stocked with fire wood. Recommendations - add a drip coffee maker, some mixing bowls, kitchen towels and a small amount of cooking oil.
My girlfriend and I just spent the weekend here and it was wonderful! The cabin is well stocked with wood for the fire, it had all the necessary dishes and utensils (no coffee maker though). The setting puts you only five minutes away from Forks, which has a decent little shopping center. The food in Forks was quite excellent too! Sullys Burgers, I highly recommend any vacationers to go there. Back to the cabin itself, thete was a DVD player and tv, with a pretty great selection of movies. The entire cabin was very clean and obviously is well maintained. Definitely coming back for a summer stay.
This was such a wonderful cabin to escape to for my recent fishing/birthday trip. The place was clean and easy to find. Amazing location and exactly what I wanted in regards to lodging in forks. Sadly the massive rain cancelled my fishing plans but I enjoyed the solitude. I will be back for sure!
