Sarasota House Rental Photos and Description
3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps up to 6
Saraphina`s Cottage is located in Paradise Shores, right on Sarasota Bay, just south of Harbor Acres, in one of the most sought after and beautiful neighborhoods in Sarasota.
Saraphinas Cottage is a historic home, designed by architect William Magill Thompson in the 1950s, having been completely, lovingly renovated over the past few years. It is unlike any other, retaining the romantic cottage appeal, evoking the irresistible charm of Old Florida with it`s beautiful cedar plank ceilings, 1950 style beach blue fridge, gas stove and dish washer, wainscoting, gorgeous hardwood floors, built- in book shelves and entertainment center, new kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms and beautiful details throughout.
The house was taken down to the studs, expanded in some areas and completely remodeled between 2010 and 2013. A garage was added, the pool and spa were re-surfaced and a gas heater was installed; the yard was re-designed and beautifully landscaped and fenced in.
The furnishings are new, tasteful and complement the style of the cottage perfectly. You will have all the comforts of home and more.
Everyone who enters the cottage is in awe of its beauty and captured by its unique charm. Enjoy the privacy of a fully fenced yard, your own dock to watch the stunning sunsets, a heated pool and spa, screened patio, the breeze and the beautiful view.
Live the good life, relax, find peace and serenity, enjoy the therapeutic effects of just sitting and gazing over the water. See dolphins jump, watch the sea birds and the tide go in and out. Whether you stay for a week or stay all winter- you will never tire of this.
You`ll love being close to everything that this fabulous town has to offer- the world famous beaches ( Siesta Key was voted # 1 Beach in the USA), the top restaurants, spas, galleries and shops.
Many of the wonderful things Sarasota is known and loved for are within walking or biking distance! About Anny Bredlau
My husband bought the house in 1989 and lived in it until we got engaged in 2006. We then decided it was time for some major renovations and moved out to undertake this project. It ended up taking a lot longer than anticipated, with multiple changes in plans and having to follow the strict building laws on the water. We also were blessed with our beautiful daughter in 2011 and decided to stay in our current home for now, where we have a little more play room for her. We have been enjoying the cottage with family and friends and decided to make it available for vacation rental starting 1/1/2014. We live in the same neighborhood and love it here! I am originally from Germany and came to Sarasota in 1995. My husband grew up in Schenectady, NY, and has lived here since 1985.

Why Anny Bredlau chose Sarasota
My husband fell in love with it the first time he saw the view and it has been his little paradise for many years.
What makes this house unique
Saraphina`s Cottage ( we named it after a beautiful Mermaid Sculpture we bought as decoration for the cottage and named her Saraphina) has a unique charm about it that captures the heart of everyone who walks through the door. We put a lot of love and hard work into this place and it shows!
