Wonderful Holiday!
We’ve just spent one of the most relaxing weeks of our lives at the Anema Residence on the island of Santorini, Greece. The pictures on the web site seemed too good to be true, but we can honestly say that the experience met and exceeded every expectation. This brand new property has been impeccably developed to provide every guest with a beautiful personal space for serenity, privacy, and rest. The combination of classic island design and first-rate modern construction gives you the best of everything – aesthetics, charm and comfort. The setting is spectacular, with a breath-taking view of the ocean (especially at sunrise!). The hospitality of Maria and Nikola was “over the top!” Not only were they a fountain of great local advice for exploring and enjoying this beautiful island, but they also surprised us with wonderful personal touches (an invitation to Sunday brunch on their patio, a basket with the makings of a delicious Greek salad fresh from their vegetable garden, some fresh baked bread just in time for lunch). They are delightful people and fast friends.
If your holiday priority is to be in the middle of the action (and the noise) 24 hours per day, and in walking distance to curio shops, bars and nightlife, you might want to consider one of the hotels on the cliffs of Fira. However, if you prefer easy access to all the many attractions Santorini affords, while maintaining a peaceful private retreat for rest, renewal and great times with family, you could do no better than Anema Residence. We would suggest, though, that you get your reservation in early – as word gets out on this gem of a destination, we have a feeling space will be hard to come by!
