Kailua oceanfront deluxe vacation rentals - two units located in oceanfront home in Kailua .

One unit faces the mountains and the other faces the ocean. Both have separate entrances, bathrooms, and kitchenettes. These are deluxe rooms with 16-foot vaulted ceilings, granite detailing in the kitchen and bathrooms and air conditioning.

Each unit accommodates three people only. The home is located in a quiet upscale Kailua neighborhood.

Thank You for the restful stay

My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Ocean View rental right after our daughter's wedding which was a blessed event, but we were exhausted from the planning of the wedding and needed a complete break from life. We sure picked the right location!

Being winter, the first night was a little overcast with off and on rain. That, along with the waves breaking on the rocks created the perfect sound for much needed deep sleep---can't remember sleeping that well EVER!! Now that we're back to city life, I often try to recreate that sound in my mind to help me sleep. When we weren't sleeping, we enjoyed walking through the beach town of Kailua--about a 5 minute drive from the rental. It has numerous restaurants and fun gift shops and boutiques. We rented a kayak on a sunny afternoon and had such a fun time exploring the reefs and Flat Island, right off of Kailua Beach. Went to a farmer's market in Kailua (I think it's every Thursday evening), bought some fresh fish and put it on the outside grill by the beautiful pool one night. A full moon made it one of our more memorable evenings.

We can't wait to revisit this special oceanfront getaway. Next time we'll stay a lot longer!

It was pure bliss. From the moment we walked in we were blown away by the cleanliness, the furnishings, and the design. The view is priceless and I wont attempt to describe it because I wont be doing it justice.

The Oceanfront Unit Was Absolutely Gorgeous, Clean, & Well Maintained

I had an amazing 5 day stay stay in the oceanfront unit. I was amazed at the attention to detail that went into the design of this unit. The kitchen was beautiful and efficient and I never had to use the Air Conditioner because the natural trade winds from the ocean and the plantation style fans did the job! The linens were of a very high thread count and the towels seemed like they were brand new. I could go on forever about the view. It was a wonderful vacation.

Great Location

We will start by saying the location of this property is great. We loved the view of the ocean. We enjoyed the sunrises and looking at the full moon a few of the nights.

We booked this property based on the many positive reviews, unfortunately, we don't have a positive review. Others who rented said the property was clean. Yet, we didn't have the same experience. For instance, the dust is so thick on the ceiling fan in the bedroom, it fell off in clumps on the bed. As well as dust on the armoire doors and the blinds. The mats in the bathroom need to be cleaned. The carpet in the living space didn't look like it had been vacuumed, and the pull-out bed has a large soil stain on it. We also had ants in the room.

We were looking forward to using the pool, unfortunately, that too was dirty. There was a large centipede in the pool, which was there for at least three days, so we stopped checking due to lack of maintenance, or signs of anyone present (no sign of property manager during out stay).

After our poor experience, we reached out to the property manager via your website and asked if we could check out early so we could check into a hotel for our last few nights in a cleaner/better environment. We were advised no refund, so we decided to suck it up and stay, but spent as much time away from the loft as possible.

We hope this is a fluke, as we have stayed in many VRBOs around the US & Central America without any issues, or false expectations.

Sadly, we cannot recommend this property...

Owner's Response: The comments in this review are surprising. On the second day of their stay the guest mentioned to me how pleased he was with the unit. There was always a management person on the property during their stay. A phone call or email regarding any problem would have been addressed. One email message was received requesting a check out two days early with no explanation. The swimming pool is cleaned professionally Wednesday of each week and it is checked daily. Guests staying in the other unit commented on how much they enjoyed the pool. We invite any comments by guests staying in any of our units and will act on any problems that might arise if notified. We did notice the dust on the fan blades and informed our cleaning service. The bath mats are laundered prior to each stay and the area carpet was professionally cleaned prior to this guest stay. We take comments from our guests seriously and have always acted on any problem brought to our attention.

We stayed in the ocean view room. We were visiting some friends on the island but wanted to have our own space so we did not impose. However thats exactly what we felt like at this accommodation. We were greeted with a list of "don't"s including to not run the air-conditioning for long periods of time bc if effects the landlord. Having the windows open was not advised. Finally the pool I longed to swim (also having a list of don'ts) extended down to the living room of the landlord making it awkward to use the entire pool. Additionally none of the waterfalls nor lights were ever on to make it as inviting as the photos. The wifi was slow and unable to cope with Netflicks or HULU. Finally the deck had a nice view of the water but the chits didn't fit under the table so eating dinner outside wasn't a reality. However the view from the bedroom made up for a lot. The sunrise from bed was gorgeous and the loud AC unit made sure you were awake for it. The Apartment was very clean kitchenette was well stocked. From the photos the shower/bathroom looked better in the "Mountian view" room.

Owner's Response: I greeted these guests upon check in and asked them to tell me if they needed anything. They never requested anything during their stay. We can only accommodate requests if we are informed. These guests were never told not to open windows or not to use the air conditioner. We have never told any renters not to open the windows or not to use the air conditioners. In a welcome letter, we do ask renters to close the windows when they are not in the unit. We have ocean rain storms that occur frequently and have flooded the unit when the windows were left open. In the welcome letter, we also ask that the air conditioners be turned off when they are not in the unit. This is not an unusual ecological request in Hawaii where our electricity rates are 4 times that of the US mainland. Many hotels and condos in Hawaii make this same green request. We have never prevented a renter from using air conditioning and only ask that they be turned off when the units are not occupied. We are one of the few Kailua legal licensed vacation rentals. A notice of pool rules, which is required by law, is located near the pool. The pool is not available to the Ocean View unit after 8PM. because the Mtn View unit is right above the pool and they might be bothered by waterfall and pool noise late at night. At all other times the pool is available to the Ocean unit and we have always turned on the pool lights and waterfalls when requested. The pool is 60 ft long. At the far end of the pool is a 16 ft glass sliding door that allows access to the pool for owners use from an inside hallway--it is not a living room and does not interfere with pool privacy. The entire 60 ft. pool is accessible to guest. This has never been an issue with previous guests swimming past this glassed area. The Internet works well and the modem is located directly outside and between the two rental units. The signal was slow while hurricane Julio was passing by. It did not prevent us from using Netflix with the same router during this period. We would have been happy to check the signal in their unit if informed. It is unknown what a chit is and why that would interfere with eating or sitting on the outside deck The week prior to this tenant's stay we added a roof over this deck area allowing it to be used rain or shine. We also added new furniture to this area and the table and chairs are stable and do not rock.
