Longboat Key House Rental Photos and Description
Welcome to our architecturally unique home in the quiet and peaceful neighborhood of Hideaway Bay. The winding road under the canopy of trees unfolds onto a hidden peninsula of 16 waterfront custom homes jutting into Sarasota Bay.
Our canal facing home is quite striking from the front double mahogany doors as you enter into the open main floor living area (approximately 1600 square feet) with ceilings soaring to 22' and marble floors. Tasteful appointments throughout include comfortable furnishings, feature lighting in every room, artwork, and personal pieces conveying a homey atmosphere.
The kitchen is a cook's dream with granite, Euro cabinets, a five burner glass cook-top, stainless appliances including a 48' refrigerator, double ovens, wine refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, commercial Keurig single cup coffee maker, as well as a huge walk-in pantry and a nine foot buffet. You will find everything you need in this well appointed kitchen. A twelve foot counter with four comfortable stools is the perfect place to sit for breakfast or lunch or just to socialize with the cook. The open dining area accommodates a large table with seating for eight. Both the kitchen and dining area have curved aqua glass windows with beautiful views of the well manicured grounds and tropical foliage.
An alcove area with a comfortable recliner and red leather sofa is the place to relax in front of the 60' TV.
The main living room is furnished with leather chairs and an extra long sofa to encourage conversations as you overlook the pool area and further to the dock and canal.
We offer four en-suite bedrooms, all with king sized beds. All bedrooms face west towards the pool, backyard, and mangrove lined canal. Each mattress has been specially selected with comfort in mind and every bed is completed with high quality linens. Three of the bedrooms have wood floors and the fourth is finished in tile.
The master suite is up a half flight of stairs has a seating area and a walk-out balcony looking toward the canal. You cannot actually see the sun set from here however the views as the colors splash across the western sky are spectacular. The master bathroom features a deep soaking tub, separate shower with a rain shower head, bench and multiple body sprays, two private toilet rooms, onyx counter tops with double vessel sinks and two huge walk-in closets. The laundry room is on this level.
From the main living floor you take six steps down to the double garage. You will find the fourth bedroom and full bath in this space. This room is what we call the 'man cave' with its comfortable carved chairs and TV.
We have bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards for your recreational enjoyment. Our dock with 8000# boat lift can accommodate a 24' boat. Coolers, beach chairs, and beach towels are available for your stroll to the beach.
Longboat Key feels like a slice of heaven and we'd love to share our beautiful home with you. This is not a 'rental' home; it is our personal vacation home and soon to be retirement home. We know you'll enjoy it as well and we invite you to be our guest for a month, two, or a full season. The weather is great here!

We are Frank & Sheri. Frank grew up in upstate New York and I'm a Florida girl. We have owned properties in the Florida panhandle, Florida Atlantic coast, and our final piece of paradise on what we consider to be the most beautiful location in the state.
We fell in love with Longboat Key while dating. After marrying we returned for many years to vacation while our children were young. In 2004 we purchased a vacation home on the island and several years later decided to search for our future retirement home. We patiently waited for two years for this home to become available and finally made it happen. Our home has been completely renovated within the last five years.
We love so many things about our home. The way the home is situated diagonally on the east facing lot emphasizes the architecture. The landscaping is fabulous. The contemporary design was a bit different from our previous homes; however, has become our most favorite feature and the solid construction was a real winner for the man of the house.
