Perfect Christmas setting

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect setting for our family to spend a week together over Christmas. There was plenty of room for us and our 5 adult children. The house has a perfect southwestern theme (with a hint of French culture), and is kept in spotless condition. The owners added fun Christmas decorations, including a fully decorated Christmas tree and lots of outdoor lights. We spent our time on walks along the river, down the lane, watching the snow fall by the fireplace, baking cookies and making meals together. We were close to our skiing location, and just a couple miles into town for food and supplies. We would recommend White House Pizza, Village Smithy, Redstone Inn, Smoke BBQ for local restaurants. The owners were terrific hosts and were available to help with any questions or recommendations on local cuisine, recreation and adventures. We highly recommend River Rock Ranch for vacation at any time of the year. We look forward to coming back - thank you Lorie and Alain for a wonderful Christmas getaway in a beautiful location!

Lovely setting on the Roaring Fork River

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 3-night stay. Lorie is the perfect hostess, and we loved the house, the grounds, the setting, the horses, Maddie the dog, the patio at night with the wood fire, but most of all we enjoyed having our own little breakfast "picnic" (thermos of coffee and bagels) sitting RIGHT BY the river. We did side trips into Aspen and hiking in the Ashcroft area, but we really looked forward to coming home in the afternoon to this beautiful home.

Wonderful setting, beautiful house and grounds, pleasant friendly owners

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this beautiful property for a weeks vacation. The six of us were very comfortable in the roomy home. The house and property were immaculate and nicely decorated in a unique south western style. We were a little reluctant at first of the owner being on the premises while we stayed but the reviews made it sound like a non-issue. As it turned out the reviews were so right. The owners went about their daily activities and we went about ours. When we did seek them out for information or just conversation they were a pleasure to be around. We will definitely be making a return visit in the future.

PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 stayed a total of 4 nights and was sad to leave. This was one of the nicest homes we have had the pleasure of enjoying. Home was very well appointed, very clean, peaceful, beautiful landscaping, a stream, and horses for the grandchildren to feed and pet. Owners were very pleasant and accommodating . Even though they live in a studio apt adjoining the house---we had complete privacy. Lots of things to do close by and always glad to return to this little piece of heaven at night. I will always consider as my 1st choice whenever in the area.
