This 22 acre property offers one of the most splendid and unique settings anywhere in the coastal mountains of Costa Rica's southern Pacific zone. Nestled on one of the largest and most private properties in the exclusive Lagunas community and only 10 minutes from Dominical Beach, 45 minutes from San Isidro, and 35 minutes from the Quepos Regional Airport.
This Spanish hacienda style home, Villa Buena Vista, is a hidden gem surrounded by lush, well manicured landscaping. The two large hand-crafted wooden doors with old world details bring you to a courtyard with beautiful appointed gardens and majestic views of the Talamanca Mountain Range. The 2,000 sqft home was completed in 2008 and has 2 master bedrooms, each with en suite master bathrooms. The open living room and kitchen provides a spacious horizontal floor plan with multiple outdoor dining and sitting areas in the form of terraces and covered porches. The details with granite countertops, ceramic tiles, and wood finishes combine the elegance and warmth of a tropical life style. The main structure has the living room, kitchen, half bath, and one master bedroom and bath. Across the well appointed courtyard, a covered walkway leads you to the guest wing with its own bedroom/living room and master bathroom.
It’s all about the outdoor living here in Costa Rica and this home is no exception. A beautiful covered rancho next to the tile swimming pool is positioned with views to the mountains and landscaped backyard. There are sunning areas with lounge chairs and another dining table with shade umbrella. Concrete walkways meander through the gardens and grass yard connecting the pool area to the home.

We are 10 minutes from Playa Dominical, one of the world's great surfing destinations.
The property has a constant flow of wildlife: toucans, parrots, tanagers, white-face monkeys, occasional deer, wild turkey, hummingbirds, etc.
We are offering a 20% discount for active duty and retired military as well as other first responders such as policemen and firemen. Thank them all for their service.
This secluded paradise, sitting in the lush, rainforest hillside, overlooking the Talamanca Mountain valleys, was perfect for our 2 week retreat in the rainforest. Amidst spectacular views and ever-changing cloud movement, we observed over 30 species of birds, each more beautiful and intriguing than the next. We awoke to birdsong, howler monkeys, and exhilarating sunrises. We dined outdoors amidst tropical flowers, flitting hummingbirds, interesting toads, lizards, and chirping geckos.
Our well-designed, well-maintained living space included the main home and a semi-detached guest quarter, both handsomely appointed with full amenities (TV, DVD, sound systems, kitchen appliances), that wrapped around an exquisitely landscaped courtyard, back yard, and swimming pool. With the open floor plan and spacious double doors in each room, we enjoyed the outdoor beauty and fresh air throughout the day. (The listing photos do not fully show the quality and comfort of the indoor spaces.)
Apart from this peaceful haven, we thoroughly enjoyed our horseback ride to Nauyaca Waterfalls, hiking through Manuel Antonio National Park with it gorgeous beaches, and exploring the towns of Quepos and Dominical. Our favorite restaurants included Por Que No and Tortilla Flats in Dominical and El Conquito at Matapalo Beach.
A sincere thank you to Leslie and Bob, our wonderful hosts and owners of this spectacular property which they so graciously shared with us. Their "added value" was beyond words, providing us with loads of educational information and delightful afternoon chats, delicious gifts from their fruit trees, and warm friendship.
We most definitely would recommend this property to others to take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest and the climate and beauty of the Central Pacific/Southern zones of Costa Rica.
Stay in the jungle with all of the comforts of home -- and then some! I stayed here last year and plan to go back a.s.a.p. I actually stayed in the little casita up the hill from the main house, which is like a comfortable little apartment in the jungle. It has huge eaves surrounding it, so even when it's raining you can be outside and enjoy the Costa Rican jungle. The main house, a short jaunt down the hill, is so gorgeous. Everything it opened up with huge windows doors that -- when opened -- make it like you are outside all the time (when cooking dinner, walking about, etc.) It was always the perfect temperature for me, but I think there is air conditioning if you can't take the 80 F (about) heat on some afternoons. There's a lovely pool and a sitting area overlooking the breathtaking view of the river. The lanai is a great place for outdoor dinners. No matter where in the house you are, you are pretty much always out in the jungle. There is amazing food in town. The most delicious fruit grows on the trees around you. If you are lucky, you will see the monkeys. There are always amazing birds and jungle creatures about. I saw a sloth when I did the zipline. So cool! And then of course the gorgeous beaches. It's just a short drive or a bit of a hike down the big steep hill to Dominical beach -- a surfer mecca. Tons of great restaurants and thinks to do. My favorite beach -- I forgot the name. Maybe the owner can help me out and mention here. It was gorgeous and fairly calm and there is a cave you can go through and explore. I swam for hours and hours here. I body surfed and boogie boarded. I was in heaven. I should have written this sooner, I know I have more to add. I'll try to do so later. In any case, I highly recommend this place. You'll never forget it.
Never been anywhere more beautiful and accomidating
