2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Private Home

Our charming, 4372 Gulf Pines Drive home on Sanibel is a nature lover's oasis. Our close proximity to the private beach access path, clubhouse, pool, grill and tennis courts are a prime location in this private neighborhood. We have recently remodeled with a new composite exterior deck which has shade and partial sun throughout the day. Sitting outside, you'll enjoy bird activity and the sound of the surf amongst the private vegetation. Inside we have updated appliances and furnishings. The vaulted ceiling extends throughout the great room, kitchen and dining area. An enclosed sun room, converted from a screened lanai, extends the living space. Two bedrooms and two full baths provide the sleeping areas. Beach decor enhance our vacation get-away. Our yard provides privacy with multiple varieties of Southwestern Florida trees and plants. The home is built on pylons which provides parking underneath. Laundry and an outdoor shower are also downstairs. This will be our retirement home, but until then, we hope you enjoy staying here as much as we do.

About Sandy and Doug Nering

My husband and I purchased our retirement home a bit early, but we have vacationed on Sanibel for decades and recently fell in love with the Gulf Pines neighborhood.

Why Sandy and Doug Nering chose Sanibel Island

It is just 300 of our steps to reach the beach through the private Gulf Pines access path. Those 300 steps help us get through the Indiana winters as we mentally pace off the distance and envision the beach. We are also very close to the pool and tennis courts which keep us active during our stays. When we want more exercise, we venture about one and a half miles to the Sanibel Recreation Center. Visitor memberships are available for all the classes and activities. Renting bikes is also fun to be able to ride the three and a half miles up to get groceries or eat out. Being on the West end of the island, we can avoid much of the winter crowd in our own sanctuary of Gulf Pines.

A bit of paradise

This house has lots of high end amenities in a great location. Surrounded by gorgeous landscaping you feel like you are alone to enjoy the peace and quiet. The private beach is only a few steps away and offers private walks, a great place to sun and exquisite sunsets. Pool and tennis courts are also very convenient. We loved that it was in a neighborhood but still seemed so secluded. Great area to walk or jog without traffic. Just a short drive to restaurants and shopping and many miles of bike trails.

Perfect place for R&R

If you’re looking for a place to rest and relax, a place to recharge your batteries, then look no more. The home is a spacious 2 bed/2 bath with everything needed for a long term stay like; a full kitchen, WiFi, phone landline, cable TV, and a washer/dryer. The home is centrally located in the Gulf Pines community within easy walking distance to the pool, tennis courts and beach. All about 5 minutes away. Speaking of the beach, it’s all yours. You can enjoy it all day and not even see a single person. The community is also low key and low in traffic. It was perfect for my afternoon jogs and bike rides. Also nearby is the famed Sanibel-Captiva bike path if you want to explore other parts of the island. A special treat each morning was preparing my breakfast to the sounds of the local birds. All sides of the home have ample windows and patio doors that when opened, allowed the Florida trade winds and sounds to come indoors. At night it was more refreshing than the A/C. Having dinner outside on the patio was a great way to close the day while having the sun set and watching the stars come out. Enjoy your stay, I did.

Natural Surroundings at Quiet End of Sanibel

Enjoy all that Sanibel Island has to offer, but away from the crowds and traffic. The neighborhood has a private beach access, which is just across the street from this home. Since there are only private homes in this part of the west end, the beach is a secluded area that is hard to find these days. The home itself is clean, updated and very comfortable with plenty of small details to help you have a wonderful stay.

A hidden treasure

What a lovely home! It is located in a rustic private setting, close to the beach, pools and the tennis courts. Biking on Sanibel is delightful, and the bike paths are easily accessible from the house. The house itself, has an open layout, with cathedral ceilings. It was immaculate, offering many ammenities, including an outdoor shower to clean off the sand from the beach. The owners are terrific, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. This will be our second visit there, and we can hardly wait.

In a secluded yet "oh, so-friendly" neighborhood, this open, airy home lends itself so well to relaxation and rejuvenation. Strolling to the pool, tennis courts, and idyllic beach path takes just minutes. The large deck is great for sunning and dining "al fresco". Inside, everything is ready for renters. A lovely spot to book in order to soak up all that Sanibel offers!
