The cabin sleeps six. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the loft has a queen and the sleeping porch has twins. The upstairs has a full bathroom and the laundry room on the main floor has a half bath. There are two decks and a path meandering down to the river where there is a fire pit and dock at the river's edge. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything a cook could need. If you prefer, Traverse City has many amazing restaurants to please your palate.
Joe and I moved from Grand Haven to Traverse City in 1972. Joe was a teacher in various areas (his favorite was elementary physical education) for 34 years. I was a speech/language pathologist with the Intermediate School District for 26 years. We had our dream home built in 1978.
Joe and Marcia LeMieux purchased this cabin in 1978
This location is perfect for those who want to just relax and enjoy the serenity mother nature has to offer or Head 10 minutes to town where you can be as busy as you want with shopping, riding the bike path, soaking up the sun at one of TC's super beaches or dining.
Our home has three terrific fireplaces. The living room has a beautiful stone wood burning fireplace at the far end and there is another gas fireplace in the living room near the center of the house. The other gas fireplace is in the dining room. There are two screened in porches one on each side of the living room. Great places to read, nap or entertain!
We rented Marcia & Joe's cabin for an all girl's long weekend and had a blast! Their home is so welcoming and peaceful. It is beautiful and very well maintained and fully stocked. It has all the comforts of home yet you feel like you are living out in the country. I will definitely recommend it to others. I just cannot say enough great things about our stay - and our dogs loved it as well. Thank you again Marcia & Joe I will forever treasure my stay with all of my daughters:) I hope we will be able to get back there soon.
We were looking for a quiet private location convenient to Traverse City and this was certainly it. Marcia and Joe's cabin is in a beautiful setting along the River, where deer and birds are plentiful. The cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly need. They did everything they could to welcome us and make us feel at home. The cabin is very cozy with three fireplaces and beautiful porches. We had a wonderful relaxing week.
This vacation home is an authentic log cabin. It is very welcoming and eclectic with it's cozy, comfortable furnishings. It is situated in a very quiet, private setting on the Boardman River. It is the perfect retreat for the outdoors man/woman. Fishing, hiking, biking, tubing, and kayaking right out the door.
