THE ASHEVILLE TREEHOUSE, LUXURIOUS & 15 MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE

Swannanoa House Rental Photos and Description

2,800 sf treehouse, 7 private acres.

Perched high on the side of a mountain at the end of a pristine, forested drive, with tree lined views from every room.

An amazing natural stone wall welcomes you to a beautifully decorated living room, offset by a wood burning fireplace visible from the living and dining areas.

A separate dining room makes you feel as though you're suspended into the trees, proving an amazing view. A large dining table provides seating for up to 10.

The master bedroom on the main floor features a king bed, large flat screen television, and a master bath with a large tile shower, double sinks, granite counter top and two walk-in closets. A second bedroom features a cozy king bed and large flat screen tv, and shares a full bath with a third bedroom with a twin daybed which converts to a queen bed.

A large family room is located on the lower level/walk-out basement and features a wood burning stove encased in a large brick fireplace, comfortable queen size sofa bed, and 55 inch flat screen Smart television.

A fourth bedroom is also on this floor with two twin beds, which can be pushed together to make a king, as well as a full bath with a tub/shower.

All four bedrooms have wonderful tree line views. Just lie in bed and enjoy the view.

Enjoy preparing meals in the fully equipped, gourmet kitchen, which includes full size, stainless steel appliances and lots of great cooking equipment. A pub table with two chairs sits at one end of the kitchen – because we know everyone loves to be in the kitchen.

The large deck is complete with a gas BBQ grill, patio chairs and an outdoor dining table and is completely private for the perfect place to relax while you listen to the sounds of the creek flowing down the mountain.

A don't forget to take in the view from the fantastic new hot tub - it's great!

(While no smoking is allowed inside the house, we provide sand buckets outside should you wish to smoke on the deck).

Guestbook comments from the owner
The Asheville Treehouse is phenomenal! The pictures don't do the rental justice: from a fully-stocked kitchen (sharp knives that actually cut things!) to comfortable beds (down comforters, robes!), our stay was so comfortable and fun. Did I mention the location is perfect? The place is about 15 minutes from downtown Ashville, but it feels worlds away and peaceful. Tonya was also incredibly helpful! Check-in and out was super easy and she was available for any questions we had. She also has the best instruction manual of any place I've stayed - from working the hot tub to the tvs to really good advice on grocery stores and restaurants. Overall, this was a fantastic vacation for us!

We're a couple who love exploring new cultures and spending time outdoors with our dogs, 'Baxter' and 'Julius Caesar Salad'. We've stayed at some great places, like Ireland and New York City, and are now offering fun vacation stays at 'The Asheville 'Treehouse.' You'll have a wonderful time!

David's an engineering manager and designs glass plants around the world, and Tonya's a marketing executive with a nonprofit organization.

David and I both love Asheville and hope you enjoy all of the amazingly beautiful things the area has to offer. If you like, we're happy to share our favorite things to do too - some of the favorite local hangouts.

Awesome Critter Sightings

  • 5 of 5
Like the last reviewer, we were lucky to see a bear cub walk across the property early in our week-long stay. We also enjoyed beautiful moths, fireflies, and chipmunks. Oh, and a friendly neighborhood dog strolled by to see what was up. Our group consisted of three teenagers and two middle-agers and we all loved the place. The sound of the stream and the wonderful view could not have been better. Also, our hosts were gracious and helpful. The activity suggestions they left were great, especially to the local country blatz. I hope to come back again; this place was a little slice of Heaven for us.

A perfect family vacation retreat!

  • 5 of 5
Our group included 9 family members ranging in age from 17 to 80, and everyone was thrilled with the location, accommodations and available activities. Each day, we split up in different combinations to go eat, explore and embark on appealing adventures, but were quite happy to return to the Treehouse and enjoy each other's company and the beautiful features of the home. Within the first hour of arriving, we were awestruck to see a bear cross through the property, so every day we searched from the deck, hoping to be rewarded with another sighting. As the last three members of our party were departing on our last day, they got to see the bear again as a parting gift! Tonya and David supplied all of the details necessary to meet our needs and insure our comfort and enjoyment. We would love to return some day!

Better than home

  • 5 of 5
There are many fantastic things I can say about our experience renting this house. Because we were 3 families coming from 3 different parts of the country to meet for a vacation it was tricky to coordinate. Tonya made it easy with suggestions, accommodations, and concern for a successful trip.
The house was well-equipped for barbecue dinners, relaxing breakfasts, stress-reducing hot-tubbing, and family together time. There was everything we needed and more.
The drive to Asheville is really easy. We did it almost every day we were there. It was an easy drive to hiking, waterfalls, and pizza dinners. Hitting the Local Joint is a must!
We've rented vrbos in 8 different states now and this house was in my top 2. Thanks Tonya for hosting us and making it so easy.

Great visit to Asheville

  • 5 of 5
Great location to downtown Asheville. Owner gives helpful tips and suggestions for local food, restaurants, events, and activities. Property is well kept and maintained. Decor is lovely and there was plenty of space. There is a highchair and port a crib available if needed. The robes were a great touch and helpful by the hot tub. Will visit again!

Good times at the Treehouse

  • 5 of 5
This property was everything we were promised and more. Tonya was extremely helpful from my first contact with her up to her attention to detail for how well set up the treehouse is. The house was perfect for our group of four couples. Eight adults were situated excellently up in the hills, you can't see or hear your neighbors at all for great privacy. Located a short drive away from downtown Asheville there is easy access to any amenities you could need. The weather was perfect, many evenings were spent on the porch appreciating the sounds of the creek. My only comments would be that a printout schedule of trash pickup would be appreciated and setting the thermostat on the hot tub can be a little finicky. Small details both, nothing that was disrupting to our trip. I absolutely loved the decor of the home, my wife was taking notes the entire time. We had many great meals prepared in the well stocked kitchen and the meals around the dining room table will leave us with great memories for a lifetime. There are very nice tv's around the home, but we were having so much fun I don't think anyone bothered turning them on. Mobile data can be a bit tricky in the mountains but the in home Wi-Fi worked very well with clear instructions provided. I really can't say enough good things. Everyone in our party loved their stay and all of us wanted to extend our stay in perpetuity. I will happily stay here again and its hard for me to imagine anyone having a bad time.

Fairview Forest is an exclusive, private community on the side of Arrowhead Mountain, 15 minutes from downtown Asheville.

Local coffee and fresh baked goods, fresh cheeses and more, can be found at Troyer’s Country Amish Blatz, just at the bottom of the mountain. And if you’d like an espresso, venture just a couple of miles further to Mountain Mojo for even more fresh baked goods and self-serve savory foods. You’ll be 5 minutes from a major grocery chain (Food Lion), as well as great food at The Local Joint, Piazza, Trout Lily Healthy Mini Market, and Pizza and More on 74. A complete list and menus will be waiting for you when you arrive.

Asheville offers so much! Incredible galleries, the best dining, arts, and live entertainment, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the world famous Biltmore House and Gardens and Winery and Grove Park Inn & Spa and Golf Resort.

Other area attractions and activities include the quaint town of Weaverville, the 435-acre North Carolina Arboretum, the Pisgah National Forest (mountain biking, swimming, hiking), horseback riding, balloon rides, skiing at Wolf Laurel, relaxing at the historic Hot Springs Spa, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, Chimney Rock Park, Grandfather Mountain, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and, of course, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

We’ve also got lots of personal favorite spots in the area we would be happy to share with you.

In winter months, a four-wheel drive is recommended in case of snow.
