Comfortable, Cosy and Spacious. Close To All Shops And Restaurants & Ski lift

Chalet Floranneve is a wonderful home ... not just a rental house. It is fully furnished with some lovely old pieces that have been shipped over from the UK. There is a large mountain view family sitting room at the top of the house with a 42' cable TV, video, CD, hifi & wifi ..

Floranneve is a different house from most. As well as having a large living area, it also has a large and spacious master bedroom with a conservatory style balcony, which is great for Mums and Dads or couples who enjoy their quite time together. ... it's always nice to be able to separate from the party when you need some peace and quiet.

The house also has large 3 - 4 metre panoramic windows on the first and second floors .... this is also different from any other house in Bovec ... open these windows and you can almost feel like you are outside in the fresh air!

Under-floor heating in various rooms makes the house warm and snug in the winter.

Ground floor bedroom is like a studio apartment... This (self contained if required) area also offers perfect space for couples wanting a little privacy or teenagers wanting to chill out and relax.

Bedroom 4 is the 'platform' room that is situated in the apex of the loft area above the sitting room and kithcen area ... (it has a head hieght in the middle of 180 cm) Please see photos... there 2 single futon beds that can be joined together to make a double ... it is great space for kids ... our children call this the 'tree house' room! . For obvious reasons It is not suitable for the unsteady, infirm or for those requiring privacy.

The house has 3 convenient entrances.

Bovec is approx 90 minutes from three airports - Ljubljana, Trieste and Klagenfurt. Also, it is under 3 hours from Venice and Graz airports. To make the most of the available activities car hire is recommended and is available from all airports.. Transfers are available too.

More about Bovec: Bovec is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. As well as attracting skiers in the winter and water adventurers in the summer, Bovec is very popular with walkers, trekkers, botanist and artists in the spring and autumn when the weather is warm and temperatures are perfect for exploring.. The flora is exceptional at these times of the year.

Being in the Triglav National Park, there is a fantastic range of activities right on the doorstep. The stunning River Soca runs through the park and there are also many places of interest to visit nearby. There is a museum dedicated to the 1st World War, in Kobarid 15 mins drive. The world famous Skocjan caves are less than 2 hours away and the town of Bled with its stunning lakeside location can be reached by a combination of road and the old 'through mountain' motorail ... in about 90 mins.

More about the area: There is first class fly-fishing in the crystal clear Soca which has trout, grayling and the famous marbled trout which can grow up to 20kgs! Licences and passes can be purchased in the town. River sports include white-water rafting, kayaking and canyoning, all of which can be arranged in the town. Paragliding is also popular and available locally. Horse-riding is also available locally but a drive of less than 2 hours will take you to the world famous Lipica stud and riding school with its dancing Lipizzaner horses. There are lots of great value restaurants serving delicious local food and great wines. There are shops for all your general requirements. There is a bank, pharmacy, hairdressers and a garage. There is also an indoor pool with sauna, massage and fitness centres in the nearby Hotel Kanin.

About Charlie Ram

Much to my childrens amusement I am now only a couple of years away from getting my free London bus pass! I am married with three children and have lived and worked in London for the last 38 years. My family and I love adventure and so living in the city gives us a big incentive to get out and enjoy the wonderful places the world has to offer, I fell in love with Bovec whilst riding my motorcycling back to London from Dubrovnik in 2006. It was immediately obvious after only being in Bovec and the Soca valley for a day, it was a very special and secret place with warm friendly people. I bought a house here 3 months later in the centre of town. I spent a couple of long years renovating it and now I come here regularly with my wife and three children. Bovec is a great family place with so much to see and do... everytime we come here we always find something new adventure (and eat and drink !)

What makes this house unique

Although Floranneve is one complete family house it has seperate areas which allows us to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the rest of our pals in the house... when we want it !

Floranneve is located in the centre of town, ... close to all shops and restaurants, but still a very peaceful area.

Bovec is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

As well as being a popular ski resort, the area is also regarded as one of Europe's most unspoilt summer activity regions.

The town and area of Bovec is popular for many activities: walking • rafting • canoeing • kayaking • hiking • mountaineering • skiing • mountain biking • sky diving • paragliding • micro-lighting ....

This region is full of history ... it's long lines of trench trails have made it a fascinating and popular area for walkers wishing to learn more about the conflicts of the last century.

Bovec is also a wonderful place to relax. The pebble 'beaches' along the banks of the river Soca make perfect spots for family picnics and lazy days.

Painters and Botanists love Bovec as well: it's breathtaking scenery and stunning mountain and valley flora attracts both the relaxed and adveturous explorer.

... and more importantly, there is some great local food and fine regional wines to enjoy ....!

Other Activities: River sports include white-water rafting, kayaking, canyoning and Hydropeed

Golf: There is an ecxcellent 18 hole golf course just 30 minutes drive away. It is situated near the beautiful Italian town of Tarvisio . . It is a very scenic drive to get there and it's just over the Italian border: the mountain views are breathtaking.

Ski: Bovec provides the highest skiing in Slovenia on the Kanin and the ski-lift is a 2 minute drive from the house.

A shuttle bus runs from the centre of town at regular intervals... so, getting up to the slopes is easy. The new link from the Kanin Mountain over in to Italy to Sella Nevea is now open... this provides an extra 23kms of skiing. Local Ski passes also valid for 3 other resorts - 2 in Italy and 1 in Austria - all within approx 30 mins drive of the house.

There is also a sofabed in the conservatory area. The Ground floor bedroom is like a studio apartment...Ideal for adults wishing to be in a self contained area with some extra privacy. It has it's own kitchen, shower room, hall way and entrance ..... there is a double bed and an excellent quality futon double sofa bed... Single fold away beds may also be available on request. The 4th Bedroom is a platform above the kitchen and sitting room, it is fine for children, (but not for babies or toddlers or the very young)..... there are 2 low level futon singles that can be joined together to make a double.... fun for a young couple... but not very private!!

Chalet Floranneve has 2 kitchens ... The main kitchen is at the top of the house on the same floor as the dining area and the sitting room ... making a special family area for cooking, eating, drinking and relaxing... and just being together. The other kitchen is on the ground floor in the studio style apartment ...basic kitchen with basic facilities.This is not separate from the rest of the house and is connected by internal stairs The dining table is situated in front of the 3 meter window ... open the windows and you are almost eating alfresco without the fuss of carrying the food in and out of the house!! The table is a recently restored refectory table with benches and chairs ... great for getting the family round after a tough day in the mountains! Huge, beautiful but cozy living room that includes, 42' flat screen internet TV, DVD and CD player, surround sound, digital radio, 2 sofas, armchair, refectory dining table and chairs.

Fantastic house, fun vacation!

We spent 8 nights at Chalet Floreneve - it’s a beautifully renovated home, exquisitely furnished, and well-equipped, etc. What a treat. Being in the center of Bovec, it’s very convenient to walk everywhere. Bovec and the surrounding area are spectacular as evidenced by the photos - the Soca River and the gorge it cuts through the mountains. It’s ideal for various water sports – kayaking, rafting, canyoning; plus, hiking, biking, exploring. The Pot Miru - walk of peace - WWI sites are interesting and scenic (some are challenging hikes) to explore, as is the WWI museum in Kobarid. Daytrips to the Veneto are feasible – on this trip we visited Aquileia (Roman ruins and 4th century cathedral famous for its mosaics), Palmanova (designed as a fortress in the shape of a nine-pointed star). A hearty thank you to Charlie and his family for sharing their fabulous vacation home.

I have to tell you that you can't imagine what pleasantly surprised we have when we came to Floranneve. a house is really perfect and we have very nice time in it. and we had really nice host and he was all the time at our service.
everything was so magic!
congratulations for the arrangement of house. it is really beautiful and comfortable.

We were party of 4 adults and 3 kids.House was ideal,great space and fantastic views to Mt Kanin.The guys looking after the house really made us feel at home.Skiing was excellent on Mt Kanin and nearby Tarvisio in Italy.Local people very friendly,good inexpensive restaurants and even cheap beer.Result!
Hope to go back in summer to try out the rafting.
Well worth the visit!

Great stay ... The house was excellent and well equipped, We reckoned we were in the house shortly after the renovation was completed in July 2010. There were a couple of things that needed sorting out soon after we arrived but the owner's house manager was fantastic and the small problems were resolved very quickly and efficiently. We were well looked after throughout our stay. Using the services on offer by owners contacts worked out well too. They sorted us out with excursions, bike hire, etc: all very easy and convenient this made all the difference for us.

Sitting room was massive!

Bovec is one of the most beautiful places we have been to ...we found out the film The Tales of Narnia, Prince Caspian was filmed in the Soca Valley a couple of Ks down the road from Bovec. Stunning countryside!

Looking foward to our skiing holiday in there in 2011!
