Spacious 2br, 2ba, Sleeps 6, Steps To The Beach!

Aldea Mar is located on approximately 11 acres of lush tropical vegetation directly on the Gulf of Mexico. The community of Aldea Mar (Village-by-the-Sea) is ideally situated on Venice Island close to town yet far enough away for solitude and relaxation. The Aldea Mar property is unique in that the private beach is only a very short walk from the front door, the large heated and chilled swimming pool is even closer and the oversized putting green is on site. Shuffleboard is also available on site as well as a large clubhouse for scheduled activities and private parties. Our unit is in the perfect location situated just steps from the beach. Everything is close yet the location is very quiet. There is easy access from parking in the covered carport to the unit as well as to the many amenities that Aldea Mar offers. Our two bedroom unit will sleep 6 with plenty of room to entertain guests. Flat screen TVs are in the bedrooms and living room (basic cable included) and the tastefully decorated living room will give you a fresh feel for the Florida gulf coast. There is a full kitchen with upgraded appliances and granite countertops as well as a stackable washer and dryer for your use. High speed wireless internet is provided. We have fishing poles, beach chairs/towels, shark tooth sifters, coolers, beach toys, putters (for weekly putting events with your neighbors) and a set of golf clubs for your use. Rentals are monthly but we can rent for a shorter period of time during the off season. Our home is renter ready with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Need a bike? We have those (4) too!

We have been renters ourselves in the area and decided to take the plunge and fuel our passion for the beach, scuba, and shark tooth diving. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do. an excellent month

We spent the month of November in this condo and loved it. Aldea Mar is well situated on the beach (our building was conveniently located the second row back from the beautiful beach and a 30 second walk from the gazebo). The walk into the lovely main street business area takes about 20 minutes as does the walk along the beach to morning and evening yoga classes given at Venice Beach. There are several golf courses within short driving distance. The communal swimming pool is large enough for lap swimming which is not typical of many resort pools. The condo itself is spacious and light, beautifully decorated and very comfortably equipped. Doug and Cathi, who were attentive hosts, have thought of every detail and we wanted for nothing. We met several residents of Aldea Mar through bridge evenings and found them to be friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to return next year to this lovely condo unit.

What a beautiful condo. Neat, organized and everyone was extremely comfortable in this getaway on the beach. AND WHAT A BEACH! Conveniently located to the quaint little town of Venice you can literally ride your bike to eat and shop. This truly was the total package and would definitely plan another stay!

A Beautiful Location

This is a lovely condominium. It is comfortable, attractive, and very well equipped. The owners have provided everything you could ask for in a rental and much more. They are pleasant to work with and respond immediately to any questions or concerns. Steps from the Gulf and walking distance to Venice Avenue, it is in a perfect

Our stay was great. We have previously stayed in Sarasota, Central Florida and the Atlantic coast of Florida, and found Venice to be a lovely, relaxed place to vacation. The close access to the ocean was what we wanted. Marvelous Sunsets!
The beach is very nice (we are very familiar with Siesta Beach), -- your beach could benefit from periodic raking.
The Condo complex is well kept. The only negative aspect was the limited Guest parking. In our instance, we were located too close to the garbage collection area.
Outside of the Condo control, there is construction of a complex on a neighboring lot, which results in constant, loud noise.
Our unit was well equipped, With all the conveniences we needed. The owner responded immediately to minor, maintenance problems.
All the residents, and in particular, our neighbors were lovely people, who went out of there way to assist us and make us feel part of the community.
Great cycling, and convenient access to all conveniences and Sarasota airport.
We had a great stay, and would return again.

Owner's Response: More great guests...Alton and Susan were very understanding and easy to work with...we were glad they were able to thaw out from the relentless northern winter weather, even if for only a month. Guest parking continues to be a problem during the season as Venice's population swells from 10,000 to 60,000. Have not personally experienced the trash/garbage issue, but we have had some unseasonably warm winter weather which may have contributed to this. Have contacted the Homeowner's Board to address these issues. Noise was coming from the house being constructed on next lot and I expect this will be resolved by next season. One issue we as owners and landlords have come to understand as part of our rental learning curve regards future rentals. Rentals in Aldea Mar and Venice, in general, are highly sought after, especially during the JAN-MAR timeframe. If a guest likes a unit and is considering renting the following year, it is a best practice to let the owner know as soon as possible of the desire. We intend provided this notification in future to better inform our guests, especially those who have not rented in the area previously.

We stayed for the month of January in 2014. The complex is in a fantastic location and the amenities are wonderful. The owners were extremely accommodating in every respect. It came with everything you need to enjoy your vacation to the fullest. The fishing rods and bikes were a great touch as well. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone and we have already booked for next year in the same unit.

The town of Venice is known as the Sharks Tooth Capital. Venice Beach is located about half way down the left side (Gulf side) of the state’s peninsula and it has a coral reef just offshore.

Finding pre-historic shark’s teeth seems to be easy to do along this beach! Divers, snorkelers and beachcombers are all able to find various types of teeth that have been washed up from an exposed offshore fossil layer from 2 to 25 million years ago (Miocene). And if you become a shark tooth enthusiast, you’ll be eager to learn what type of tooth you have and which shark it came from. Collecting prehistoric sharks teeth has been a favorite pastime of visitors and residents of the Venice area for decades. They may be black, brown, or gray, depending on the minerals in the soil in which they have been buried. They range in size from one eighth inch to three inches, and on rare occasions more than 6 inches. The Megalodon ('Big Tooth') was an enormous shark – up to 60 feet long – now extinct, but his large teeth can range from tens to hundreds to thousands of $$$!
