Parksville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Family owned vacation property at end of cul-de-sac enjoyed by four generations

Our iconic 60's log Cabin has all the modern conveniences with a unique a country cabin feel on a .9 acre lot. Tide pools and rocky beach in front of the cabin. Swimming options in front or at near by pebble and sandy beaches.

Unwind on our large wrap-around sundeck complete with Webber BBQ, picnic bench, market umbrella and ample seating. Observe our resident feathered friends including bald eagles, herons, gulls, kingfishers, woodpeckers, chickadees and juncos.

A vista of majestic snow capped mountains, glittering sunlight and long magenta sunsets awaits you. Lapping waves, resident sea lions and wind soughing through fir, oak and arbutus trees provide you with nature’s lulling symphony.

A cozy haven to enjoy winter storms, the Cabin’s living area includes vaulted ceiling, glowing wood beams, flat screen HD T.V. and brick fireplace with thermostat controlled gas insert.

The cabin delivers an authentic ambiance along with all the modern conveniences including three bedrooms (queen, queen and bunk bed), one bathroom (tub/shower) and a large living-dining-kitchen area with spectacular views.

The kitchen is well stocked and we ask that our VBRO guests kindly replace items that they deplete during their stay.

Located at the end of a cul-de-sac the one acre lot is family-friendly with plenty of lawn for boccie, croquet, badminton, frisbee and more. The quite streets nearby are ideal for leisurely family walks to Beachcomber Park, Beachcomber Marina or around “The Point”.

If your preference is to view all that Northwest Bay has to offer from the water, information regarding local kayak rentals and guided tours is available.

About Brian Mann

We live in Victoria two hours from our vacation property. We opened the Cabin to paying guests in the Fall of 2013.

Brian Mann purchased this cabin in 1960

Why Brian Mann chose Parksville

I was four years old when my parents purchased the land and I have enjoyed it ever since. My wife and I have vacationed here with family and friends for almost 30 years. We have maintained the Cabin's West Coast ambiance while installing all the comforts of home.

What makes this cabin unique

This is one of the few properties on the inland coast of Vancouver Island with a southwest sun catching exposure. The Cabin is surrounded by fir, oak and arbutus trees. Enjoy views of mountains and sunlight reflecting off the water until sunset or walk to Beachcomber Regional Park.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Glorious view, beautiful accommodations! Loved every minute of it. This place would be great even in the rain! (For some reason, we only had sunshine in March!) Cabin is really well equipped: the kitchen has more spices, vinegars, ingredients, pots and pans, etc., etc., than I have at home and I am an enthusiastic cook. As a result we only bothered to eat out maybe once every other day. Note: no dishwasher (water is ‘way too precious around there for that) but the sink is directly in front of a view of the bay - the fabulous view makes doing the washing up painless!!

Bathroom has spares of everything you might forget and there is a ton of spare, clean bedding. The welcome was genuine, and our vacation was everything we had hoped for.

As it is a Pan-abode, the bedrooms are not huge. The beds are, however, very comfortable and the sofa bed in the front room has loads of space around it.

My wife and I look forward to visiting again!

Absolutely Adorable One of a Kind...

  • 5 of 5

Like stepping back in time, with all the modern conveniences... what a spectacular setting in which to relax, unwind and truly enjoy Nature. Whether checking out the tide pools in front of the cabin, watching the Sea Lions & otters go by, or bird watching - it's all here to enjoy. Also a great location to set out & explore all the sights of mid-Vancouver Island - Rathtrevor Beach, Coombs Market for lunch with the world famous 'Goats on the Roof - what fun! Cabin was cozy, spotless and well appointed with extras of everything one would need. We'll definitely be back - it's a 2 thumbs up!

Panabode Cabin

A clean & cozy cabin with beautiful evening light and lovely sunsets. Our kids enjoyed playing in the ocean in front of the cabin and swimming to nearby pebble beach. Great deck with lots of sun & big yard for outdoor play.

Pan-Abode cabin

This place is a little piece of paradise. Property was very clean and well maintained and has the country cabin feeling. Sitting on the deck and enjoying the view is great. The sunsets are incredible. Meeting the owner when you arrive is great to get the overview of the cabin and the area. Also if you wish to travel the island this is a good central point to go to Victoria , Tofino, etc. which are about 2 hours away.

A great cabin for a quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

A great cabin - all we needed for a break away and chance to unwind. The views across the water were spectacular. The kids enjoyed being at the waters edge rockpooling, and we were able to enjoy the peace and calm of the deck. A family of deer regularly shared the yard with us! Also a vary good base to explore a wide area of the island from.

Pan-abode log cabin

This property is a very quaint older cottage with rustic charm. The cottage is about 15 minutes away from Parksville which has a wonderful restaurant called Lefty's which we drove into town to eat at several times during our stay. There is a beautiful pebble beach a short drive away that is absolutely wonderful. The lot is large and great for games like badminton and bocci ball which they supplied. The site photos don't do justice to the actual beauty of the view especially at sunset. We barbecued several times on the large family friendly deck and got to see the local deer close-up on several occasions. The location is also 15 minutes from Nanaimo amenities which we took advantage of several times.

We did find the recycling schedule a little challenging to understand but we managed. Parents will want to mind small children in terms of the steep access to the rocky shore.

Owner's Response: Thank you for completing a review of your stay. The local pebble beach is four houses way making it a short walk up a quiet cul de sac not a short drive.

Three stays in two years!

  • 5 of 5

Our return to the panabode cabin on Northwest Bay for the third time was eagerly awaited. We were again enchanted by the well-equipped cottage, the property perched on a delightful cliff with easy access to the beach, and by the spectacular ocean and mountain views. We plan on an early return.
