About Charles Drabkin

My husband and I have been coming to Palm Springs since we met over 18 years ago. In fact, Palm Springs was the first vacation we ever took together. We recently relocated to the amazing Coachella Valley.

We hope you will enjoy your time here at Sandalwood and welcome any suggestions as to how we can make your stay better.

Peaceful, friendly and well appointed

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted by the standard of this home and the attention to detail shown by the owners. The owners met us on arrival and even accommodated our last minute request to arrive a day early. They provided a nice touch with a welcome basket which helped us through our first night and late arrival, even providing a bag of treats for our dogs. This is an excellent place for pets with a safely enclosed patio area, and lots of surrounding green space for walks. The community and more generally Palm Springs are very welcoming to pets. The home is well appointed with nice quality furniture, comfortable, new looking beds, tableware, linens etc. fully tiled throughout it is clean and easy to keep clean. The swimming pool is virtually your own private pool, we never met anyone in there and we swam every day at various times. A very pleasant patio with BBQ, lots of seating, umbrellas and a fire pit for cooler evenings. A lemon tree, oregano and lots of humming birds makes for a very pleasant environment. Extremely quiet and safe location, but just a very short drive or longish walk from the Palm Springs action. Walking distance to a couple of grocery stores, some fast food chains and a pharmacy. Very close to the movie colony for those interested in looking at some of these lovely homes. Any requests to the owners, however minor were promptly dealt with. Neighbours in the community are pleasant and friendly. We would definitely consider returning for future visits to the area.

A stay in a peaceful paradise

  • 5 of 5

We arrived in Palm Springs and were amazed at the standard of our accomodation, it was a beautiful home with everything you would need, and more, to ensure you had an excellent stay. Our hosts were very helpful whilst doing the long distance booking and answered all emails very fast and fully, the paperwork side of the booking was a breeze.

The home was great, it had a huge garden area with dinning alfresco with a gas BBQ and dinning area, a chill zone with couches and a fire pit, we picked our own lime from the tree in the garden for my corona, but best of all we watched the humming birds at the flowers and the butterflies.

We were right next to the pool, which was large, with a hot tub and surrounded by sun loungers, it was a quiet time in July and we had the pool to ourselves most mornings.

The local residents were very friendly and helped us on a few occasions regarding places to eat or directions.

The home and the complex, especially the pool, were amazingly clean, there were a team of men working on the grounds everyday.

We enjoyed the art museum in Palm Springs and also the market on Thursday night, when the centre of town is closed for a market and craft fair.

Palm Springs was a great location with everything only a short distance away, a choice of supermarkets within walking distance of the property and also a gas station just round the corner.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Palm Springs and will be letting my friends know of our great vacation in it whilst visiting from the UK

Thanks for letting us, a mother, father, teenage son and grandfather, use your beautiful home, it was brilliant.

Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5

I loved spending time at this rental. The place is very clean and up to date. Very nicely appointed. Clearly the owners care deeply about their unit and making sure their guests enjoy themselves.

I loved being able to sit outside by the fire pit for after dinner drinks. The kitchen is fully stocked, with plenty of dishes and outdoor glass wear.

Lots of pool towels for the community pool which is really only a few feet from the front door--actually there a three pools and spas.

The owners provide lots of pool noodles, tennis racquets and balls for hitting in the court. I spent many happy hours relaxing and reading both by the pool and in the courtyard.

As others have said the landscaping attracts all sorts of hummingbirds, butterflies and cute little lizards.

The spa heater in the community pool went out one day while I was there, I contacted the owners and they had guys fixing it the next day.

This place is conveniently located near grocery stores and the gym what more could one ask for.

Can’t wait to go back.

Fire Pit!

  • 5 of 5

Picture this, a starlit sky, an electric blue fire, a warm night, and the perfect breeze. This was our last night at the property and it was magnificent. We've stayed in a lot of VRBO and this was the most bang for our buck. Clean, chic, comfortable, livable, easy access to downtown, tennis courts, swimming pool. This place really has it all.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky enough to find the unit very quickly after it came on the market and what a find. Great location, close to shops, markets, golf and downtown attractions. The owners have out a tremendous amount of care into the decor which is very well done. Kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything one needs to dine inside or out as well as entertaining. The patio is such a gem we spent many wonderful hours relaxing. Plan things attract hummingbirds dozens of times a day and butterflies of every size, shape and color. A lemon tree provides lemons for the taking.

The very best feature of this condo is there are no personal belongings crammed into dressers and closets tithe point where you can't unpack. Wonderful and highly recommended - we will definitely be back here.

Stylish Retreat in Gay Palm Springs

  • 5 of 5

Ok - these hosts are some of the best I have ever had in my VBRO travel experience. The condo was perfect when we arrived. Super stylish. Not one of those old lady turned VBRO for extra cash situations. These folks know the Palm Springs lifestyle and know how to present a space that captures that experience. Michael and Charles were great working online to book the condo. Once we arrived the place was instant comfort. We also love to cook and the kitchen was great. Everything you could possibly want for a day or night in. And to top it off the location was lovely! Thank you so much for a relaxing stay!
