The building dates from 1858, however, the internal accommodation is every inch 21st century living. Providing accommodation for up to 8 people in the form of 4 double or twin bedded rooms each with television, 2 with en-suite facilities, a further full bathroom and separate cloakroom; dining area - seats 8; gourmet kitchen with range cooker, and a large comfortable living area, with seating for 8, WiFi broadband and washing and drying facilities are in house.

Externally a large courtyard houses a secure storage facility for golf equipment, bikes, etc., and a front courtyard provides off street parking. A rear garden is there for relaxing in / BBQ.

Set in the grounds of historic Tranent Parish Manse, with easy access from the A1 motorway, the Stables provides an ideal luxury retreat or staging point for access to East Lothians Golf Courses countryside hiking and biking, sailing and windsurfing, and many other local attractions.

This is an excellent property with everything you will need. Beautiful House in good location with easy access to surrounding area. Close to train station at Prestonpans giving cheap and easy access to Edinburgh.

Excellent gardens for children to play in and close to lovely beaches.

We found this house very relaxing and enjoyed our time in the house as much as out of it.

FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS AND A GREAT HOME.

The house was clean, warm with all the facilities you need for a great holiday. Roomy with great bathrooms and a great kitchen.
Handy to the city without being built up. Great country walks.
The hosts were accommodating and very friendly and were only too happy to please.
Wish we could stay longer but would definitely recommend to friends. We hope to return.

5 STAR ACCOMMODATION AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE

Beautifully converted stables done to a high contemporary finish with all mod cons.

4 double bedrooms which can all be split into twins if required, The 2 upstairs are en-suite, 2 downstairs have a family bathroom and a separate WC.

Kitchen is finished to a high standard with everything you need to cook up a great meal. Dishwasher, large fridge/freezer etc

Even with 8 of us staying in the property it still felt spacious, 3 couples and 2 teenagers. Dining table has room for all and the living room has 3 large settees that are more than big enough with no one feeling squished.

Location is ideal with access to Prestonpans railway only a mile away which has free parking and is only a 15 minute train journey into the centre of Edinburgh. Also only a few miles drive to the coast.

We had a family wedding at Winton House which is around 3 miles away, taxi cost around £10 each way and took about 10 minutes.

EXCELLENT AND EASY ACCESS TO EDINBURGH

This is a five star property with excellent history, You wanted for nothing, very spacious and bright but cosy at the same time the owners are fantastic and you only seen them if you needed anything.
I would recommend this all day long and would definitely stay there again, it has easy access to Edinburgh and the east Lothian.

EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATIONS

The layout and amenities of this home are perfect for a holiday or golf vacation. The rooms are comfortable and private and it's easy to feel right at home here on your first day. Access to the train station is convenient making the short trip into Edinburgh rather easy. The kitchen is well equipped and the back courtyard is great for cookouts or just relaxing. The washer/dryer combo unit is "apartment" sized and takes a while to complete a cycle, but it does the job for small loads. Alastair and Catherine are fine hosts and take pride in providing a comfortable home for their guests. We look forward to a return stay at The Stables on a future visit to Scotland.

CENTRAL AND CONVENIENT FOR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS

We have been visiting the East Lothian area for golf for many years and this time we combined golf at some of the best Links courses in the world with the British Open at Muirfield. The location in Tranent is great with easy access to the golf courses and other sites of interest. The Stables house met our expectations for lodgings to the fullest. The four rooms are well maintained and comfortable for 8 persons. There is a large sitting room with wide screen TV and also TV in each room. The kitchen and washroom where also modern and in good order providing and opportunity to do some cooking such as preparing breakfast and even meals in the evening. I think this is perfect for couples who know each other well and families etc. Easily recommended.
