This very large one bedroom, two bath condo features a full ocean view and is approximately 1,000 sq ft. There is a video tour as well as new pictures to come soon which will show better how large the condo actually is. Living, kitchen and dining all in a great room with an extra large lanai to dine and relax while you watch the beautiful sunsets. The condo also features free WiFi and a flat screen TV. The kitchen is supplied with dishes, pots and pans as well as spices most will need to prepare food. The master bath has an extra large 4ft shower, the bathtub was removed and made into a large enclosure. Elevator and new updated stairs and walkways lead to this top 3rd floor condo with under building parking. There is a swimming pool which rarely has anyone there with barbecue, sink and table and chairs. It's a great place to entertain a few friends if you have any on the island, and the ocean is just 50 steps away! The only thing missing is you.
Favorite Beach: Mau-umae Beach
Located in The Mauna Kea Resort property. Drive up to the guard gate at the entrance of the resort. Ask specifically for a pass to Mau-umae Beach. (pronounced Mow Mai) They only give out a few passes each day. Arrive before 10am to ensure a pass. This beach is a soft, sandy, secluded beach, with gentle water access. The water is shallow (2-3 ft deep) for 100 feet out. There are no breaking waves and the water is calm and
crystal clear. Bring a cooler with water and snacks. Bring a beach umbrella and chairs, for an awesome day of peace and tranquility.
Best Beach Close To Condo: White Sands Beach
It is about a 5 minute drive south of the condo, right on Alii Drive. It has soft sand, easy water access, and great waves for boogie boarding. Snorkeling is great, if you snorkel out to the right side, by the sea wall. There are always many sea turtles hanging out here.
The Big Island Candy Company: A MUST SEE!!!!! Outrageous hand made chocolates and chocolate delights.
Snorkeling is the best thing to do. It’s free and it is awesome. Kona has some of the clearest waters in the world. The water is warm and filled with creatures. You often see sea turtles, fish, dolphins, crabs, eels, manta rays, and other animals while snorkeling around Kona. The Place of Refuge has some of the best snorkeling.
I will send you a comprehensive list of my favorite activities and restaurants upon your reservation to use to plan the activities you will do during your stay. One can also be found on site to you at your arrival so you don't have to bring your own.

I'm a long time resident of both the San Francisco Bay Area of California and Reno Nevada. A former real estate agent, I've traveled extensively since retiring. I visited my nephew in Kona frequently over the years and have always loved the area. My late husband and I have fabulous memories of the the Big Island. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Claudine St. Avalos purchased this condo in 2013
It is a quiet complex to get away and enjoy each other's company.
It has a fantastic view of the ocean from the lanai and is also very close to two beaches that are great for numerous activities for your family.
Your condo was very comfortable. The spacious lanai equipped with spectacular ocean views was exactly what we had hoped for and as an added bonus, your condo was very quiet and secure.
From the lanai, we enjoyed the frequent surfer show and other activities of all kinds such as fishing, swimming, bike riders, joggers, some snorkeling, etc., etc. The past week, a couple of turtles have lingered in the shallow lagoons right across the street. I am a golfer so I enjoyed 3 rounds at Wiakola (suggest golfers buy the Hawaii Golf Card). As you suggested, in Hilo we had a great lunch at Ken's and stopped by the Candy Factory. Also, just outside Kialua, the open air restaurant at the fisherman's wharf dock is worth a stop as well as all the nearby beaches. Today we went para-sailing and had a perfect weather day for it. My wife really enjoyed this adventure as it was on her list, you know, "the list".
We hope your future guests enjoy their stay as much as we have.
We came to Kona a week before the family crowd arrived and found a perfect spot to unwind and relax. Lovely view. Small, quiet, comfortable condo. Very well equipped, clean and welcoming. A beautiful arrangement of flowers awaited us and we appreciated the binder the owner put together to guide us on our vacation. It was great to be close to Kona to explore the area before we moved further north. I particularly enjoyed walking with the energetic just outside the condo. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with/make arrangements. Enjoy!
We were sightseeing on the island and decided to try a condo instead of a resort. I'm so glad we did! This place had everything we needed and the location was perfect. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Kona!
We were visiting our brother who lives in Kona and found this condo nearby. It's a small complex and very quiet. We originally wanted to be on the ocean, but many units do not have A/C. We feel we got the best of both worlds - we got both a VIEW & A/C! When we arrived, there was a wonderful fruit basket waiting for us. The owner even had someone to call local if we had any problems. We watched the long board surfers, paddle boarders, and could even spot sea turtles coming into the bay from the lanai. There was also plenty of storage to put away clothes and closets for hanging clothes. We had plenty of cooking supplies and utensils. Having a washer and dryer was also a plus! The condo had a cooler that we used daily. The only reason for 4 stars is that it hasn't been completely renovated, but would definitely recommend to anyone.
The condo is just minutes from a lot of places! We would enjoy a morning run down Alii Drive to Lava Java for coffee. Kahalu'u Bay is great for snorkeling, White Sands for boogie boarding (can get a bit rough), Kau Bay just north of the airport was our favorite beach (just a 20-30 minute drive). We drove around to Hilo to see Waipio Lookout & Akaka Falls and on the way back stopped at Tex's for the best malasadas! (don't forget to bring your walking shoes, oh and check out the lava tube as well) Da Poke Shack was AMAZING and it's practically across the street! We could have eaten their every night!
We rented snorkel equipment and booked a Manta ray night dive from Snorkel Bob's. (you'll want to bring your rental because they are much better, and the water is pretty chilly so you might ask to wear 2 wetsuits if they have extra!). Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tours was a great way (however expensive, but worth it) to see the volcanoes, amazing waterfalls, and spectacular coastline.
We stayed one night in a resort near the airport, but in hindsight, we would have stayed the extra night in the condo. The resort was so expensive (food and drinks) and there seemed to be more bugs (gnats, mosquitoes, etc)! The pools are nice, but you are in Hawaii, get out and see it!
