Seven Devils Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Beautifully decorated with elegant French Country Furnishings

This nestled cabin is a combination of French Country and rustic elegance! The owner's passion for Interior Decorating is showcased in this cabin and every single detail has been given special attention ~ it is simply elegant!

As our guests arrive the cabin's massive cobblestone fireplace gets you excited to hurry and see the inside! Then, the yard has so much curb appeal ~ raised flower beds bordered with slate stones, solar lighting and the river birch tree limbs blow whimsically in the mountain breeze. The mulch and stone walkways alongside the cabin lead to quaint spaces. Located in the back yard is a private area with a stainless steel gas grill surrounded with cobblestones and moss peaking out of crevises.

You quickly leave your worries behind when you are greeted by a friendly bear on the porch. Entering the mudroom there are earth tone slate tile floors and in the corner sits a wooden stool holding a lamp and vintage bell that guests just LOVE to ring letting you know they've arrived! A long rustic bench is great for resting after a walk or for pulling off your wet shoes. The decor in this space is just enough to tease you for what you are about to see just on the other side of the door ~

~ Slowly open the door ~ you instantly savor this beautiful cabin and the warm feeling of the stunning interior decorating. Your eyes wander anxiously trying to capture each and every detail beginning with the hemlock wood beams that are stretched across the room and hung high to showcase their beauty! The spacious open floor plan and lightly stained hardwood floors gives this cabin a grand feeling.

The ceilings reach to a height of 30' with the enormous cobblestone fireplace and hearth that was maticulously hand laid by the original owner! This fireplace is a major focal point ~ mantle has buffet lamps dimmed low and an over sized antique sign as if to say Welcome Friends! You can stand and just soak up the gorgeous view from the main level all the way to the loft bedroom upstairs. The living room's ceiling fans delicately move the mountain breeze. Here's where you can relax and enjoy the comfortable leather and tapestry sofa, grand rattan chairs/ottomans, an antique distressed side board decorated with ornate lamps, antique chests and a bench full of books . All of the essential electronics are included - cable, 32' flat screen HD TV/DVD player and WIFI wireless internet. This room is absolutely perfect for family gatherings!

The dining room farm house table seats 6 and the wrought iron eterge is filled with favorite pieces. There are plenty of windows to capture the views from many angles. Both the living and dining rooms flow into a very open stylish kitchen ~ a French Country island with claw feet is slightly distressed to make it look like it's been there forever. This kitchen has plenty of room for conversations because there's no better place to mingle than in a kitchen! Two glass Pottery Barn chandeliers are hung above the island, beautiful counter tops and two miniature shabby chic lights hang over the kitchen sink plus additional lighting above the cabinets. You'll find a whimsical bird sitting on top of the cookie jar. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary cookware, stainless steel refrigerator, oven, toaster, coffee maker, microwave ~ nothing has been overlooked!

Nearby the kitchen is the bedroom that has the best views of the mountains! You can literally sit in bed and enjoy the views. This room has been furnished with a cozy queen bed with Pottery Barn bedding and the black metal headboard and hand painted dresser is appealing. The wood trimmed chair is perfect for reading a book and the painted pictures set the tone for this very elegant room! A vintage metal table sits at the bedside ~ everything is perfect in this pretty room! Across the hall is a stackable washer and dryer. Also, a full bathroom with the unique logs built into the walls make it very cozy! It has a handicap accessible shower and plush towels provided for your use. There are a few toiletries just in case you forgot something.

One of my favorite pieces is the antique sideboard that is displayed in front of the stairway. It is decorated with a silver tray, a variety of topiaries and ornate lamps. The staircase leads you upstairs to a very romantic loft bedroom that is tucked away! The grand bed has ornate details and the plush bedding in this queen sized bed is fit for a queen! In this room each piece of furniture and the details are exquisite from the dressers to the lamps! One of the best features is a quaint nook that is decorated with a shabby chic wrought iron chandelier, chair and ottoman and vintage table so you can get away for some quiet time. The large antique armmoirre provides extra storage for linens and blankets. The full bathroom has neatly folded plush towels that are nestled in a basket and rests on a wooden stool. Also, this room has a ceiling fan and window a/c unit. When you lean over the banister from this romantic loft bedroom the views are gorgeous!

Now, one of the very BEST features of this cabin is conveniently located just steps off of the living room. Step out onto the very large covered porch~ I guarantee you that you will say WOW!!! The most desirable mountain views are seen from this 4,000 elevation so sit and relax in the comfortable chaise lounges, rattan sofa, two large rocking chairs and a farmhouse table that seats 4 ~ enjoy meals outdoors from this view. Plenty of blankets have been placed on the porch to snuggle up with. The porch also has ceiling fans, bird feeders and a vintage clock but who's keeping time anyway? At one end of the porch you overlook the driveway and take in more of the neatly landscaped yard below. We guarantee you that you won't want to leave this porch ~ you just might want to sleep out here.

Our cabin is special to us and where we can enjoy family traditions. We hope that you will enjoy family traditions here too. If there is anything we can do to make your visit even more comfortable please be sure to share it with us. Enjoy your stay! Watch this holiday video ~

About Peggy Jones

Our family has always enjoyed the North Carolina mountains and after visiting the Seven Devils area we quickly learned that we wanted to be a part of this beautiful community. My never ending passion for Interior Decorating and designing completely is displayed in our home. I enjoy landscaping quaint areas with cobblestone pathways and my love for decorating is inside and out of this log cabin. Our family especially enjoys hiking, bicycling and going for walks in the neighborhood. At the end of a long day spending time together as a family makes it all complete!

This art is a painting that I personally hand picked and my friend Tammie O. Carter did a fabulous and amazing job! His eyes are beautiful! This bear and a few other of Tammie's art work is a wonderful addition to our elegant and rustic cabin!

Peggy Jones purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Peggy Jones chose Seven Devils

From the first time that we vacationed in this particular area we couldn't wait to arrive and never wanted to leave. The scenic drive from Boone on Hwy 105 to this cabin is breathtaking. Appalachian State University in Boone is only 15 minutes away in downtown Boone. This cabin is located at approximately 4,000 elevation and views of the mountains can be seen from numerous locations on this property. Blowing Rock is only 20-25 minutes away and is filled with quaint stores and a large variety of restaurants. There is snow tubing at Hawksnest which is conveniently located about 1.5 miles in this immediate Seven Devils community. Sugar Mountain, Banner Elk and Beech Mountain are approximately 10 minutes away, Grandfather Mountain and Linville are only 10-15 minutes away.

What makes this cabin unique

As we welcome you as our guests our family embraces family traditions and spending quality time together. We certainly hope that you and your family will also enjoy many family traditions in our cabin and there will be many conversations for many years to come! Enjoy your stay!

The owner's passion for Interior Design has given extra special attention to every detail throughout the cabin with elegance that provides our guests the extra comforts of home away from home!

This cabin has so much charm from the moment you step out onto the driveway. The yard is professionally landscaped with pathways leading to quaint outdoor spaces with bird feeders, solar lights beaming on the large River Birch tree and the tall cedars. There are several covered porches for several relaxing spaces and always a decorative bunny or carved bear sitting near by. An extra feature is the enclosed mud room with slate tile floor, windows, outdoor lanterns and a large wood bench to pull off your wet shoes before entering the main house. Each room has extra special touches which makes it very welcoming. The views from the driveway, large porch and from the downstairs guest bedroom are absolutely breathtaking! The cabin's large living room is a great space for families. The hemlock wood beams and floors are lightly stained making this cabin feel very spacious and cozy.

Each bedroom has new Pottery Barn comforters and bombay dressers. One special feature of this cabin is the 14' x 50' covered porch located just off of the main living room. It is only one of the many features of the cabin and has seating for approximately 10 - a farmhouse table for dining, 2 large rocking chairs, 2 chaise lounges and a large rattan sofa. You can stand on this large covered porch and stare out to the beautiful views of the mountains all around you.

Owner has seen to every detail. A sweet cabin in the woods with decor inside and out giving a homey feel. Breakfast on the porch was delightful! Although upstairs bed may be a little squeaky, the mattress gave me a good night's sleep! Look forward to renting this sweet cottage again.

Owner's Response: I was delighted that all of you had a wonderful girls weekend! Thank you for sharing the pictures and it looked like everyone was having a grand time. The bed is so dreamy and a minor repair will certainly fix a squeak. I look forward to everyone's return next fall for another girls weekend ~ the dates are already blocked out!

Owner's Response: It was such a pleasure talking to you both! We really enjoyed your pictures and we too just love to watch the humming birds and get so amused watching the birds fight over the bird seed! I loved your message that even though we haven't met in person that I was a beautiful person because my cabin said so! Now that just made my day!!! "Paradise with a Porch!"

  • 5 of 5

Thank you both so much for your warm hospitality & sharing your beautiful & comfortable cabin with us for 3 days! When we arrived and opened the door from the mudroom, I said, "OMG, how beautiful!" Your cabin just took our breath away!

I am such a photography buff, so before bringing in the luggage I usually go in to take photos but this time I just couldn't stop taking photos! We found EVERYTHING to our liking and the beds were so comfortable. You have great taste in decorating & supplied all the necessary amenities plus being very well stocked.

This is truly one of the best cabins we have ever rented and we have rented a lot!

Peggy, you were right about the porch...oh, to die for!! We spent most of our leisure time either drinking coffee, sipping wine or beer and reading our novels out on the porch!

It was fun watching the various birds and chipmunks...more great photos! We had a marvelous time shopping and antiquing down in Foscoe, Boone & Blowing Rock. We really enjoyed our trip to Grandfather Vineyard for some wine tasting and relaxing out by the river...more great photos!

I must admit that I did take numerous photos in order to "steal" some of your decorating ideas. I can't wait to see how that turns out. It was a pleasure working with you from start to finish in securing the rental dates we wanted. All in all, we felt all the comforts of home and the warmth and friendship that you both so painstakingly put into your cabin to ensure a memorable visit.

Thanks again for sharing your slice of Paradise...if only for 3 days!

Winter Wonderland!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time at this snowy cabin and it was exactly what we were looking for! The mountains had just had a big snow storm and there was at least 14 inches of snow on Seven Devils mountain. The cabin is in a lovely community with wonderful views and it had everything you could need to be comfortable. The owners did a wonderful job decorating the place and they were so easy and nice to work with. We even sent them a video to show them our beautiful snowy weekend. We look forward to returning to that beautiful cabin, maybe in warmer weather. It really was a winter wonderland, something I will never forget!
