HISTORIC ROW HOUSE, STEPS TO METRO, DINING & MAJOR ATTRACTIONS

Capitol Hill House Rental Photos and Description

2 BR, 1 BA- Live like a local and enjoy all that DC has to offer

Forget the high-priced hotels, the madness of parking and don’t bother with basement apartments that leave you feeling like you’re sleeping in a dank cave. Enjoy a home away from home in an actual DC row house, originally constructed in 1899.

Enjoy a home-away-from-home in this charming historic DC row house, originally constructed in 1899.

Explore all that DC has to offer while staying in this charming furnished 2 BR/1 BA, two-story home. This home is located in East Capitol Hill, just two short blocks away on Pennsylvania Ave you will find the Potomac Ave Metro Station with both the Orange and Blue Metro lines. On that same corner you will also find a new Harris Teeter supermarket and Capital BikeShare rental racks. Take the Metro, ride a bike or stroll up Pennsylvania Ave to historic Eastern Market for a huge variety of quality foodstuffs, fun and weekend markets at the oldest continually operated market in the city. Stop by any number of great restaurants on Barrack's Row for dinner on your way back to your cozy home.

A mere 10-15 minute Metro ride gets you to the National Mall with its eleven (11) Smithsonian Museums, numerous Memorials (Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, King, WWII...), sculpture gardens, fountains, botanical gardens and green space – wear walking shoes because you can’t possibly see it all in even a week's time!

We offer cozy comfort in a historic home updated with central air & heat, WIFI and cable service. This home has a living room, a separate dining room, kitchen and a washer and dryer (go home with clean clothes!) located on the first floor. The kitchen is supplied with everything you will need to prepare and serve 3 meals a day for family and friends. Upstairs you will find hardwood floors throughout, two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and the other with two twin beds as well as a full bathroom. Need a break from sightseeing? Then enjoy people watching from the front porch and say 'Hi' to your friendly neighbors. When the weather is nice you'll want to enjoy sitting on the private back deck for a meal or to relax and plan your day.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Nation's Capital!

Great apartment

We were four days in Washington, and we felt very comfortable in the apartment. Pima are the two bedrooms and the large and very well equipped kitchen. The subway is just around the corner and the shops are very good. We can recommend this apartment!

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. We offer studios to full homes for stays of 4 nights up to 8 months. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. See the Washington Vacations section on our website for homes in the nearby mountains. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Apalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

TOLLE WOHNUNG

  • 5 of 5

NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME

  • 2 of 5
First the good. Location had good access to Metro and walking trail. The neighborhood is up and coming, but looks a little unsafe.
Now the rest. Unit is old but nice. It may have been recently redone and it is not really ready yet. Several light bulbs were missing or burned out. Parking on the street is tightly restricted and there is no visitor parking pass. Furniture and lighting was not conveniently placed. House instructions were in process. Workers showed up to do work on the unit, not knowing it was rented.

EXCELLENT LOCATION AND PROPERTY

  • 5 of 5
I recently stayed at this location on a visit to Washington DC and enjoyed it very much. The location is great (a 2 minute walk to Potomac station) and there are a couple of grocery store options within easy walking distance. Washington has a great transit system and being so close to a metro stop is incredibly convenient for getting around to all of the sights.

The property was clean, well maintained and was a very welcoming environment after many long days of sight seeing. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and family!
