Glenwood Springs Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bath With Killer Views And Privacy

This renovated cabin was on skids, and we have added a beautiful sunroom/living area with a walk out grade patio to complete the design. It has solar power, with a back up generator..and has a pull out couch, as well as twins in each bedroom, so sleeping capacity is 6. We have a wonderful weber grill, as well as a fire pit on the patio, outside dining and a nice covered front porch, for shade in the hot afternoons...also has a gazebo, on the top of the elk pen here on the Ranch. Nice place for a nap, or practice your morning or evening yoga!

About Terry and Mary

Terry Porter was born and raised here in New Castle and makes Porter Ranch his home and living. He raises Rocky Mountain Elk here, and is a custom Hay Rancher. Custom hay is his bread and butter, but the elk sure are fun!

Terry and Mary purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Terry and Mary chose Glenwood Springs

This cabin is for those special someone's who really want to get away from it all. You are completely secluded, with all the luxuries of home..you must be judicious with the power, and understand that there is a lot of responsibility with being in with the elk. BUT,,,,talk about a unique experience. You will love it.

What makes this cabin unique

Covered front porch, nice outside clawfoot tub for a sun shower, or a dog bath, private gazebo and complete solitude. Outside grill and fire pit, pull out couch and walk out grade Colorado red stone patio. Really nice and very very private.FREE WIFI NOW.

A Peaceful, Beautiful, Lovely Place

  • 5 of 5

This ranch is AMAZING. It provides such a special and unique experience. My boyfriend and I went for the weekend and it was the perfect place to get away and enjoy each other's company. The owners of the ranch, Mary and Terry, are fantastic hosts! They are so warm and welcoming and they make sure you are all set up with everything you need in order to have a pleasant stay. The cabin is perfect; it is a peaceful homey sanctuary. The patio is great for morning coffee chats and evening stargazing, the lawn chairs are ideal for watching the sunset, and the views are spectacular. You really can't beat gazing at beautiful mountains and 47 elk from your front yard (They have 99 elk in total).

During the day we were able to explore the ranch and came across groups of bulls with enormous antlers, in the evening we listened to the coyotes howling by the stars, and we happily cooked all of our meals in the kitchen at the cabin (which contained all of the utensils, pots, and pans that we needed). As for the twin beds we just combined them into one and it was very comfortable.

The day we were scheduled to leave, there was supposed to be a snow storm on our drive home, Mary and Terry were very accommodating and said that we could stay an extra night because no one was scheduled to arrive that day. How could we refuse?! It was such a magical weekend. We will definitely be back to stay and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and special weekend.

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for something secluded so that I could let the dogs off the leash and run for the 1st time ever without. It took some time to find the right one but this was def that one i was looking for. My girlfriend and I stayed for two night with our two dogs and absolutely loved it! Cabin owners very sweet and nice people. Will rent again!

Once in a lifetime experience!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were looking for a Colorado cabin to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We found it just outside of Glenwood Springs! I'm not sure where to start. Mary, the owner, is wonderful. She provided everything we needed and made sure our vacation was perfect. This cabin is on a 3,600 acre working ranch. A portion of the ground is used for raising elk. It just so happens that this cabin is in the middle of the elk pasture. We had coffee with the elk each morning and listen to their calls each evening! While not "The Four Seasons," the cabin has everything needed to be comfortable. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an adventure or for a romantic getaway. It feels like it is miles from everything, but it is only a 15 minute drive to rafting, hiking, biking, and entertainment in Glenwood Springs.

A Truly Amazing Experience!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family vacation for 2014 was geared towards our desire to give our children memories to last a life time. The Porter Ranch delivered those memories above and beyond our expectations. First off, the Porter family went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay was perfect. Secondly, the Porter Ranch was even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. The cabin was very comforting and had all the amenities we wanted for this family trip. It also lacked the amenities we wanted to remove our kids from (Computer and TV) for this vacation. Our day typically started with coffee and breakfast while watching anywhere from 10-20 Elk in our front yard. The days were spent off the ranch fishing, hiking, river rafting and enjoying the nearby towns. The evenings consisted of wine, appetizers and amazing sunsets. One evening we counted 47 Elk, including 9 calfs. Our boys (9 and 11) could not believe the amount of Elk we saw. A vacation with memories to last a life time was given to us by the Porter family. If you are looking to take the family to Colorado and want a break from the normal routine get off the grid and stay at the Porter Ranch!
