Celebrating 100 years...This 1914 'Four Square' home is located in the historic Cheesman Park neighborhood, adjacent to the Capitol Hill neighborhood. In 2002, a Denver architect purchased the building and spent $475,000 restoring it to two single-family attached homes. The renovation project garnered a 2006 Restoration for Living Award from Historic Denver. Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial influences, Art Nouveau stained glass, and a turn-of-the-century reproduction fireplace from England are just a few of this home's architectural features.

This superbly renovated home is centrally located and close to all that Denver has to offer. Numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores (King Soopers, Whole Foods and Safeway) are within walking distance. Four blocks away from historic Cheesman Park, where you can enjoy its walking/jogging/biking paths, flower beds, pavilion, picnic tables, playground, and scenic views. Cheesman Park and the neighborhood around it abound with history that goes back to the founding of Denver City, as Denver was named in 1859.

The home consists of three levels:

MAIN LEVEL — Living room with gas fireplace and Sony 55-inch HDTV w/DirecTV, kitchen, dining room and powder room. The kitchen is fully equipped for a simple meal or gourmet dinner. High-end appliances, outdoor natural gas grill, and dining room directly off the kitchen seats 2-6 people.

UPSTAIRS — Master suite with king-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, balcony, luxurious bathroom and walk-in closet.

DOWNSTAIRS — Second bedroom with queen-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, desk with ergonomic chair, full bathroom and washer/dryer.

This home offers several great spots to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon or evening. In addition to the balcony off the master suite, there is a covered porch and walled courtyard. Grab a book, your favorite beverage and enjoy being in one of Denver's best neighborhoods. In the spring and summer, the courtyard is a great place for morning coffee, lunch, or a backyard BBQ. The courtyard includes an outdoor dining table with seating for six people, and a natural gas grill. The front of the house faces west so you can watch the sunset every night from either the front porch or balcony. There is a detached, oversized (562 sq. ft.) two-car garage that can fit full size trucks with room to spare for luggage, skis or additional items.

Immaculate property

My husband and I stayed at this property for 5 days in August and were thoroughly impressed with both the location and amenities provided in the home. It was easy access to multiple points of interest in Denver and we had no problems with checking in and out.
The house is immaculate from top to bottom (wish I had their cleaning service) and the layout of the home worked great for the two of us. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Denver area, the owner is a pleasure to rent from and a very unobtrusive neighbour!

Unbelievable experience. Went to CO from MN for a long weekend (Thurs-Sun) and stayed here, the house was in amazing shape... great kitchen for cooking, nice and new appliances, nice, new and clean showers, bathrooms, etc...
Our party was 2 couples, a perfect fit for this place (could probably fit a couple kids too).
Each bedroom was like a suite (we stayed upstairs and had a large bathroom, beautiful shower and deck off the bedroom where I enjoyed my (complimentary) Starbucks coffee the first morning. No smoking on the property although it would've made for a great spot to smoke a cigar and have a drink at night.
In addition to the nice amenities, the property had everything I needed like cooking utensils, wine openers, plates, glasses, detergent (dish and laundry), cards and games, extra blankets, etc..
I plan to visit this location anytime I come back to Denver... for the price, you can't find a hotel to come close to that quality (plus we saved money by being able to have some meals at the property or have a few beers).

Flawless Stay!

Flawless! Our stay in this Denver "foursquare" was flawless! The description and pictures do not do it justice. This home is just beautiful. We stayed while visiting my daughter who lives in Denver and could not have asked for more!
Likes: Property is immaculate. Linens are luxurious. Master suite upstairs and guest suite downstairs mean privacy for all. Kitchen is beautiful and well appointed. Within blocks of grocers, restaurants, and Cheesman Park. Parking is easy with your own garage. Although we did not have an opportunity to meet Craig, all the information we needed was at our fingertips in a notebook. WiFi, important for my daughter since she needed it for an online class and my son in law needed it for work.
Small matter, but neither of our iPads had connectivity. The laptops and iPhones connected without a problem.
We cannot wait to stay in this Denver Foursquare the next time we are in Denver!

Gorgeous Home!

We were so pleased with the all the high-end amenities and the architectural details of this gorgeous home! From the furnishings to the bed and bath linens, everything was so well done. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this, by far, exceeded our expectations. I love to cook and Craig's kitchen had everything imaginable to make a gourmet meal, including the appliances! The walk to Cheesman Park and Botanical gardens is easy. Our last evening there, my husband and I packed a picnic w/wine and had a lovely dinner in the Botanical gardens. At dusk, we got to watch Chichuly's artwork illuminate the gardens......breath taking! Craig is also kind enough to offer a guest pass for the Botanical gardens.

Two small negatives: You can hear traffic noise in the the upstairs master bedroom, so if you're use to a quiet neighborhood you might want to turn on a sound machine or sleep in the bedroom downstairs. We were not provided with a garage door remote control and found that it was inconvenient not having one.

Overall, we HIGHLY recommend this charming and beautiful home! We will be back!

This beautifully restored historic home was a delight to stay in. We have stayed at many VRBO homes around the country and this was by far the cleanest! The proximity to Cheesman Park and Cherry Creek shopping area made it very easy to go for walks and find great eating establishments if we chose not eat in the well appointed kitchen. Grocery store half a block away was also very convenient. The owner was very helpful if we needed directions or advise. The complimentary guest pass to the Botanical Gardens was a big hit! Very worthwhile to visit these beautiful gardens that you can enter through Cheesman Park. We happened to be renting during the Art Festival in the park as well. We literally ran out of time before we could do all we wanted to do in Denver.
