Celebrating 100 years...This 1914 'Four Square' home is located in the historic Cheesman Park neighborhood, adjacent to the Capitol Hill neighborhood. In 2002, a Denver architect purchased the building and spent $475,000 restoring it to two single-family attached homes. The renovation project garnered a 2006 Restoration for Living Award from Historic Denver. Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial influences, Art Nouveau stained glass, and a turn-of-the-century reproduction fireplace from England are just a few of this home's architectural features.

This superbly renovated home is centrally located and close to all that Denver has to offer. Numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores (King Soopers, Whole Foods and Safeway) are within walking distance. Four blocks away from historic Cheesman Park, where you can enjoy its walking/jogging/biking paths, flower beds, pavilion, picnic tables, playground, and scenic views. Cheesman Park and the neighborhood around it abound with history that goes back to the founding of Denver City, as Denver was named in 1859.

The home consists of three levels:

MAIN LEVEL — Living room with gas fireplace and Sony 55-inch HDTV w/DirecTV, kitchen, dining room and powder room. The kitchen is fully equipped for a simple meal or gourmet dinner. High-end appliances, outdoor natural gas grill, and dining room directly off the kitchen seats 2-6 people.

UPSTAIRS — Master suite with king-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, balcony, luxurious bathroom and walk-in closet.

DOWNSTAIRS — Second bedroom with queen-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, desk with ergonomic chair, full bathroom and washer/dryer.

This home offers several great spots to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon or evening. In addition to the balcony off the master suite, there is a covered porch and walled courtyard. Grab a book, your favorite beverage and enjoy being in one of Denver's best neighborhoods. In the spring and summer, the courtyard is a great place for morning coffee, lunch, or a backyard BBQ. The courtyard includes an outdoor dining table with seating for six people, and a natural gas grill. The front of the house faces west so you can watch the sunset every night from either the front porch or balcony. There is a detached, oversized (562 sq. ft.) two-car garage that can fit full size trucks with room to spare for luggage, skis or additional items.

LOVELY OLDER HOME IN DENVER METRO AREA

We were very impressed with the high quality of furnishings and the home itself. We enjoyed our stay, it was close to sports events and great restaurants. We were there for a wedding and reunion so that took some of our time. My daughter and her two young daughters and I enjoyed the complimentary tour of the botanical gardens, loved the glass sculptures and wished we could have stayed longer there. The stairs were a bit much for my knees but loved the little touches (books and games). We wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next time! The owner was very helpful and kind. Thanks so much!

STAGGERING ATTN TO DETAIL, COMFORT & CONVENIENCE

This home / homeowner exhaust the superlatives. I encourage you to stop reading now and go book this home. Why are you still reading? I said go book it! OK, suit yourself. Here's my list of pros and cons. You'll find the cons list is very short.

PROS:
(1) Attention to detail - NOTHING is overlooked. The house is stocked with everything you could need
(2) The amenities - everything in this home has been updated. Every light bulb, every appliance, the plantation blinds, the bathrooms (omg that master shower....), the flat screens with all the channels, the kitchen, etc. etc.
(3) Cleanliness - the house is IMMACULATE. Clean freaks: you'll love this place.
(4) The owner - I mean this in the best way but we weren't really looking for a lot of company. Craig let us in, gave us a few tips, was impossibly friendly, and after spending about 5 minutes with us, we never saw him again. I sent him a text when we were leaving, locked the house up, and called it a day.
(5) Attention to detail - I simply don't have enough space to document how every little detail was anticipated. Once you stay here, you'll get it.
(6) Location - the house is near a couple of amazing parks, downtown, Cherry Creek and all the interstates.
(7) Outside space - there is a balcony off the master bedroom and a good sized courtyard off the kitchen. Again, it's all immaculate and well stocked.
(8) Honesty - have you ever met someone from online and discovered their pics weren't exactly accurate? You won't find that here. These pics are the real deal and the owner absolutely represented himself & the property accurately and honestly.

OK time for....

CONS:
(1) In a perfect world, we'd move the check in and checkout times an hour each way. Checking in at 4PM seemed late to us and checking out BEFORE 11AM seemed a little harsh. We'd still stay here mind you, but if we were running things....
(2) If you're a light sleeper, be aware the master bedroom has a good amount of traffic noise. I acclimated after a single night but if you're expecting crickets and song birds, that's not gonna happen. The downstairs bedroom is completely quiet though.

Annnnd that wraps up my cons.

Bottom line: an absolute must for the traveling cognoscenti who can't take another night in a hotel.

BETTER THAN A 5 STAR HOTEL!

We just (sadly) returned home from staying in this absolutely fantastic home in Denver! We have rented homes in the Denver area through VRBO in the past, but nothing compares to this truly stunning property.
We were there for our daughter's graduation from Univ of Co & upon our arrival, Craig had a beautiful flower arrangement & card on the dining room table for her. Who would do that!! He was a wonderful host, from answering emails that I had before we arrived to helping us organize the beautiful private courtyard for a party that we had at the house. He was so considerate in letting us have a later checkout due to our circumstances that day, despite having new guests arrive that afternoon. He has a folder on the coffee table with everything you would ever need to know about the Denver area, from restaurants, stores, things to do & see - that any discerning traveler has at their finger tips.
Everything about this home is beautiful. The renovations have to be seen to believe! It was immaculate with the most updated appliances, linens, furnishings & decor. We are still talking about the wonderful master bathroom & fantastic shower head! It is by far the best shower my husband & I have ever had!! No kidding! The photos accurately reflect the appearance & amenities of the house, but it is even better than pictured! The two bedrooms are very large with extremely comfortable beds. The master bedroom upstairs opens up to a porch & has a huge master bathroom & walk in closet. The downstairs bedroom & bathroom are very large & private.
The neighborhood is located close to everything we needed to do during this visit & was within walking distance to several stores, bars & restaurants that we visited. Craig gave excellent recommendations on some businesses that we utilized for our party. The street is a little busy in the front, but you have your own private 2 car garage to utilize off an alley which was very private & safe.
I can't say enough about this property & recommend it to anyone staying in Denver on business or pleasure. Craig was so very patient with questions we had during our stay. I can't thank him enough & hope to be able to stay in this wonderful home again soon.

My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay at 10th and Downing. This property is everything that the listing claimed it to be and more, everything about this house is top notch. The neighborhood was very beautiful and peaceful, with all the old houses and you can walk for a long time looking at the neighborhood and all the architectural structures, there is a beautiful park close by and the Botanical garden. We absolutely loved everything about this property and our vacation in Denver.
