Celebrating 100 years...This 1914 'Four Square' home is located in the historic Cheesman Park neighborhood, adjacent to the Capitol Hill neighborhood. In 2002, a Denver architect purchased the building and spent $475,000 restoring it to two single-family attached homes. The renovation project garnered a 2006 Restoration for Living Award from Historic Denver. Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial influences, Art Nouveau stained glass, and a turn-of-the-century reproduction fireplace from England are just a few of this home's architectural features.

This superbly renovated home is centrally located and close to all that Denver has to offer. Numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores (King Soopers, Whole Foods and Safeway) are within walking distance. Four blocks away from historic Cheesman Park, where you can enjoy its walking/jogging/biking paths, flower beds, pavilion, picnic tables, playground, and scenic views. Cheesman Park and the neighborhood around it abound with history that goes back to the founding of Denver City, as Denver was named in 1859.

The home consists of three levels:

MAIN LEVEL — Living room with gas fireplace and Sony 55-inch HDTV w/DirecTV, kitchen, dining room and powder room. The kitchen is fully equipped for a simple meal or gourmet dinner. High-end appliances, outdoor natural gas grill, and dining room directly off the kitchen seats 2-6 people.

UPSTAIRS — Master suite with king-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, balcony, luxurious bathroom and walk-in closet.

DOWNSTAIRS — Second bedroom with queen-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, desk with ergonomic chair, full bathroom and washer/dryer.

This home offers several great spots to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon or evening. In addition to the balcony off the master suite, there is a covered porch and walled courtyard. Grab a book, your favorite beverage and enjoy being in one of Denver's best neighborhoods. In the spring and summer, the courtyard is a great place for morning coffee, lunch, or a backyard BBQ. The courtyard includes an outdoor dining table with seating for six people, and a natural gas grill. The front of the house faces west so you can watch the sunset every night from either the front porch or balcony. There is a detached, oversized (562 sq. ft.) two-car garage that can fit full size trucks with room to spare for luggage, skis or additional items.

This home is absolutely beautiful. A true gem! The renovations to this historical home have been tastefully done. It was a pleasure to experience what this property had to offer. Craig has paid exceptional attention to detail. We love to cook and the kitchen has all the top quality tools and utensils you'd ever need or want to create a gourmet meal. The master bedroom and ensuite are perfect.
The location is outstanding with great proximity to what this area of Denver has to offer.
Craig is an outstanding host and was a pleasure to work with. He was readily available.

Fabulous Rental Property

This house became our home during our Thanksgiving holiday. We cooked a full course dinner and the kitchen was totally equipped with everything we needed including a spring baking pan for my husband's Pumpkin's Cheesecake! The furnishing were beautiful and the overall architecture of the home was exquisite. The home is located in a great part of town walking distance to two food stores and Cheesman Park. We would look forward to another visit to Denver to this property.

Best Denver Stay Ever

This house was perfect for us. We had three adults for a girl's weekend and wanted a safe, centrally-located house. This had a garage with private entrance out the back so was ideal for security. I was impressed with how many small touches and upgrades had been made, there was truly no expense spared between the mouldings, granite countertops, a very cool composite sink, flooring, cupboards, lighting. It was very very clean also, I do yoga so spend a lot of time on the floor and this floor was spotless. Both mattresses were new and great quality. My sister, a local architect, swooned a little bit at the exposed brick in the downstairs bathroom, seemed to be original. Just a really nice house that was comfortably and thoughtfully made up. We did not need anything. In addition it had the following going for it:
- walking distance to Whole Foods- seriously, it's 2 blocks over
- 1.5 miles from Denver Art Museum
-1.2 miles from Grape Expectations, who has a lovely selection of Rhone grape-based wines
- 2 m from Natural History Museum (where my niece is docent so we got a cool tour)
- quiet neighborhood, perfect for sitting on porch with glass of wine at night
- 3 m from Sushi Zen, who does takeout so we could enjoy our house
We walked it most of the time but cabs were easy to come by also if you didn't want to walk or drive. Didn't make it to botanical gardens, wash park, or cheesman park so we are planning our next trip already- plus the Buell has some cool shows coming up! Love Denver!

Long weekend in Denver

This property was absolutely the most beautiful and well equipped VRBO I have stayed at. No detail was overlooked, comfortable beds, lucious towels, PLENTY of tv's and steps away from Chessman park, yummy restaturants, coffee shops and the Denver Botanical Gardens.
