Lovely home in great location

Just rented this home for out of town visitors (we live here). I found the owners and the local manager, Floyd, to be very responsive, professional and helpful. This time of year no a/c was required so I can't address that. The house was spotless and comfortable. It's a terrific location in a safe neighborhood in easy walking distance to Port Lucaya. The pool was nicely maintained and yes, there are some decorative tiles missing but it doesn't detract from the usability. The tiles are probably not easily replaceable since they are unusual. Oh and knowing cost of electricity here, it would be prohibitive to run the air conditioner prior to the arrival of guests.

Good Family Rental

My family rented this property in the summer of 2014 and I totally forgot to leave a review at that time. When I read some of the reviews I knew I have to give an honest account of this rental. The house is very spacious and is better suited for a small family it does NOT sleep 8 unless you count utilizing the sofa and two people in every double bed. Everything in the house worked as advertised, but be advised the back part of the house does not cool very well. You will have a problem with ants if you do not clean up behind yourself and keep everything sealed, but that is common anywhere in the Caribbean...ants are a part of life. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the property manager and cleaning lady are phenomenal. The pool definitely needs repair but it is a community pool and I don't know how much the owner has influence, I would stop advertising the pool unless you want to take ownership for the shape that it is in. This is a great rental for the area and is one of the closest rental houses to Port Lucaya. The price point needs to be adjusted because it is a little high and it is Freeport...Overall it is a good slightly overpriced property.

Run down property in serious need of repair and updating. Pool has tiles falling off into pool

I regrettably stayed here with family for a week. This place does not look as nice as it shows in the photos. Thank the lord for the ultra nice gentleman that comes and helps you with the numerous issues. Upon arrival the home was still closed up and the ac was not on. There were also numerous carpenter ants and sugar ants. I am from Florida so I am no stranger to this environment nor bug situation. Either way, I felt it would just been courteous to have a few bottles of water in fridge, the house opened up with AC running and bug free. The first two nights the AC was not working at all and easily could have been prevent has someone checked on the property prior to our family checking in. In the month of August this is pretty essential. The tennis courts were in severe need of pressure washing. Mold is growing on them. The pool is in so much need of repair and remodeling. There were literally tiles falling off of the wall into the pool. The biggest disappointment was the so called beach you have access to. There is no beach if the tide is in. I mean it is all rocks when the tide is in. Just really sad. It is not ocean front, but 3 houses inland, but has walkway that is yours. The house is large on a positive note. The casino also does not have air, just a heads up. The supermarket is close, but food is about double the cost than it is in the US. Good luck!!!

Owner's Response: We are absolutely concerned about the feedback from our guest and take every aspect of feedback seriously in order to improve upon their experience at the home. However, it's important that we clarify some points. The house is advertised as private beach access not on the beach The pictures posted on the vbro site are not doctored, they represent the property accurately During your visit there was a problem with one of the two units of the air conditioner and it took the repair man an extra day to repair the unit and we have taken steps to prevent this from happening again We also have a back-up generator connect to the site in the event of a utility power issue We have ask the housekeeper to spray for bugs as a usual cleaning protocol--but had not received the complaint until you informed us about it. While we can't control the tides and the rocks on the beach, there is usually a lot of beach to enjoy and we can't control the prices in the food store or the air-conditioning at the Casino. While we understand that things were not perfect as it is not a newly built home, we responded to every concern in a prompt and timely manner and are responsive to any concern -and also have a great property manager who goes above and beyond to make our guest stay at the home and in Freeport a wonderful visit. He provides pick up and drop off to the airport, coffee makers, grills and even Xmas trees - all to assist our guest in making the home their own for their stay. We love great reviews but more important we love it when our guest enjoy the home and the island.

Great rental and great owner

Our family wanted a rental that had space for all of us and close to activities, this house had it all. There were 5 of us staying and there was plenty of room for more. The futon bed was very comfortable as well as all the other beds. The living room furniture was so comfortable. The property owner and local contact were wonderful and very easy to work with. The home was clean and neat. The house has air conditioning, but we never used it because the weather was nice and the ceiling fans were quite adequate. It was great having a private beach to ourselves and we could walk along the beach to the public area in front of the hotels if we wanted. Beachside at the hotels, we rented wave runners and other water sports are available there.The water was clean and clear. We walked the short distance to Port Lucaya Marketplace and UNEXSO everyday. We rented a car because we wanted to explore more of the island, but it wasn't necessary. There was a bus stop on the way to Port Lucaya. The pool and tennis court were very enjoyable for our active family. The maid service worked around our schedule. Everyone we came across was very friendly and we felt safe everywhere we went. We rode quads on a guided tour, went scuba diving, swam with dolphins, visited the Lucayan National Park, swam in the ocean, went bottom fishing and went on a canal tour. So much to do and see. Having a house to come back to was great instead of just a small hotel room. We would get up early and watch the sunrise from the beach, amazing.
