In 1991 I was going through a rough time and looking to rent a place that provided serenity and tranquility. I read an ad in the newspaper titled 'VACATION YEAR ROUND' And I rented a place on the water just 4 doors away from the property I now own.
Kay purchased this townhome in 1994
After Renting down the street I JUMPED on the chance to own in this wonderful location. While walking one day, the seller was putting a sign in the window and that was it for me!
This home is warm and wonderful and hugs me every time I enter. While providing solitude and a slice of heaven it is just steps from everything!
Kay's townhouse was the perfect place to spend the month of February. We were right on the water so we felt like we were living on a houseboat. Three dolphins swam by every morning and we saw many beautiful birds, including blue herons and snowy egrets. The Pinellas Trail is just a few blocks away so we rented bikes and rode them to nearby Honeymoon Island, Downtown Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, and Clearwater. Publix and Walgreens and Frenchy's Outpost Restaurant are all within walking distance as well as a few breakfast spots. Our Greyhound, Kyle, loved going for walks to the Causeway and the sunsets are amazing!! It is already rented for the winter months next year, but hopefully we will get back the following year. Thank you, Kay, for everything!
We certainly can not say enough positive things about our stay and this condo on the bay in Dunedin. The condo is furnished in a mixture of fine antiques, comfy sitting areas and a touch of Florida, too! Really enjoyed the screened in porch, spent each morning out there beginning our day as the dolphins frolicked nearby. Condo is very comfortable, convenient and spacious, too! Thanks, Kay!
After spending 3 weeks searching for a place to stay, I finally settled on this one. I stayed for one week and couldn't have been happier with my decision.
It was the perfect R&R stay with great accommodations, perfect location and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets just off the balcony. My family drove from Orlando to visit for two days while I was there and they enjoyed their stay as well. Kay was extremely helpful and always available to answer any questions.
This place is in a perfect location, close to great restaurants, beautiful beaches, excellent shopping, and quaint towns. I recommend exploring downtown Dunedin and taking the ferry to Caladesi Island amongst other activities.
If you are a woman traveling alone, like I was, I highly recommend staying here as I felt very safe in the neighborhood. Can't wait to return to this beautiful place!
The owner of this townhouse, Kay, really makes sure that the house is well stocked and very clean! She even purchased a beach umbrella for us,( and future renters) since we burn easily, and did not want to carry a beach umbrella on the plane! Everything we needed was available. The location the Causeway is convenient to everything, and provides a nice view. It was also quite quiet, which is important to myself and my husband, as we are in bed typically by 10:30.
Only recommendations...there was a musty smell, I believe due to all of the rain for 2 weeks before we arrived, and at the beginning of our stay. Kay did try to address that while we were there, but it remained. Also, I would suggest curtains on the master bedroom sliding glass door, for those who wish to sleep late. The view is outstanding, and we enjoyed breakfast a few times on the balcony outside the bedroom!
I would return again!
Thank you, Kay!
My favorite memories about Kay's place in Dunedin: On the ground floor, stepping out the back screened in porch and being right on St Joseph Sound with a view of Honeymoon Island State Park to the Northwest and a view to the Northeast, across the water, of homes on the shoreline.....From the master bedroom's sliding glass doors upstairs, stepping out on the balcony and getting the visual impression that our room was floating on water.....Enjoying Kay's great eclectic taste; using antiques and newer furniture pieces, and using colors well in her decorating schemes.....Feeling like a welcomed guest, with a notebook of local interests (with personal notes added) available on the coffee table, fresh sunflowers on the dining table, and having every possible thing we needed, from beach towels to a season pass to Honeymoon Island.....Taking walks across Causeway Blvd without having to drive to get there and enjoying lovely sunsets at the town home as well as at the Park.....listening to the sounds of silence at night, with the occasional plop of a fish leaping out of the water to interrupt the quiet.....Enjoying great access to good restaurants, grocery and other stores in Dunedin and an easy drive to Clearwater Beach on scenic Alt 19.....Being blessed by great customer service. I would recommend this place as a couple's getaway or, as in our case (five of us), a family hub for an enjoyable, affordable, vacation.
My sister and I went on a mini vacation and rented this property. The townhome was absolutely perfect, we loved the location and charm of both the home and town of Dunedin! The name says it all, it is definitely Serenity by the Sea :) The living area and bedrooms are comfy, clean and well kept. I cannot wait to go back! The owner made this a very easy and smooth transaction..thanks Kay!
