Booked this place because it was cheap and in the lower east side. When I got there I saw the neighborhood being not so great. I mean its perfectly safe as soon as you leave the street onto somewhere else it can look a bit sketchy. But other than that it was cool, building was well kept, my place was not spacious but it was comfortable with plenty of room to do a lot. Appliances were all good and everything was stainless steel which gave the room a very modern look. The rooms as well were roomy and lots of closet space which was a big plus. This place is close to chinatown which is a neat place to check out and close to the train stops so getting around to places was fairly easy.
Apartment was clean and good condition with enough space for my family group of five. really liked location just a quick walk to markets, movie theater and subway which we did not have much need to use as everything was close to apartment. The kitchen was not big but fully stocked making it possible to cook a full meal. The neighborhood is quiet and the owner was friendly. Would highly recommend this rental.
The condo was in great condition. We had a full group of ladies and asked for a second
key which was provided upon check in. The area is perfect and everything needed was nearby. The large variety of restaurant choices made it a rather fulfilling visit to the big apple. We went out to a few clubs in the area and it was great to be able to walk back to our place and be in a safe neighborhood. I slept on the futon in the living room which was fine as there was proper linens and the company of the flat screen TV which had full service far as channels. It would have been nice to have 2 bathrooms as us ladies tend to make use of them but we made it work and saved a ton of money versus renting a hotel and had an overall great vacation. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it for groups of similar size.
Management only provided 1 key which made splitting up very difficult. Gentleman who gave us the key and took final payment said the last guest only turned in 1 key and they had to get another made. Said he'd relay key request to his boss. There was no washing machine or clothes dryer or hair dryer as advertised. There was a flat screen TV but no cable, so no TV service. Tenants in unit below had same property manager and they did not have TV service either. There were no sheets for the sofa/futon. Daily phone calls and e-mails to property manager went unanswered. Very frustrating. Unit was a 4th floor walk up. Only a few blocks to the subway.
We got to NY after long delays at the airport and lost baggages, but, finally, it was all worth it. We didn't have to look for the office to get the keys - the check-in coordinator met us at the appt, and was very nice and helpful.
The apartment size was what I had hoped for and far better than my fears, though I wouldn't call it spacious. Still, it was comfortable, clean, with good modern design, exactly as in the pics, and reliable wi-fi connection. Actually, it had all what you need to stay a week visiting NY. Full-equipped kitchen, impeccably clean, with all the dishes and utensils, a fridge, a microwave, etc. helped offset meal costs.
The location is reasonable (walked everywhere from here and it never seemed far), though subway (F-train) is just 2 blocks away. Lots close by, Chinatown with its cheap food, restaurants and supermarkets, which helped us save money, too - it was just perfect for our needs.
A couple of little things needed attention and the staff fixed them immediately. So, there was nothing to dislike, and it was worth every penny we paid, will really consider coming back in the future.
